Thanks for your thoughts, Josiah..it will be interesting how science will interpret the tendency of some to try to change their genders.
I take issue with your use of the word "try". From all the anecdotal accounts I have heard trans-gender individuals describe the wrong gender sensation they experience starting in earliest childhood and certainly not a product of their volition. They want to be normal gender appropriate children but try as they may they can not keep from feeling they are the wrong gender. The same is true of homosexual individuals who spend most of the adolescence years trying desperately to be interested in the opposite sex. My gay son explained this experience to me and one tends not to forget conversations like that. So to once again summarize my point, there is no volition, no trying going on here. Instead it is an inborn urge that can not be thought away or prayed away.
