Wives, look this over carefully.

I got a vacuum cleaner one Valentines Day early in our marriage .... But my husband was still going to college at the time, and money was tight, so jewelry or other frivolous stuff wouldn't have be very practical at the time. :)
Early in our marriage hubby got me a diamond necklace. I knew we could not afford it - I took it back to the jewelry store. However, I have gotten jewelry over the years and kept it...🤣🤣

Hubby does his own ironing so I would by him the iron..
🤣 🤣 🤣
My mother-in-law gave me an iron for my wedding shower and had a note in it that said Someday you will hit your husband on the head with it, because he is a fanatic about how his shirts are ironed. She was right and when we were married a couple of years I hit him on the head with the iron because he complained about a small crease on his shirt.

I worked with a man one time that got his wife a "slip" for Christmas every year. Some of you may remember slips as you wore it under your dress and over your bra to be modest. I finally stopped wearing them and my grandmother was so mad with me! She lived with us and I just had to tell her that since she wore two of them, then one was for me! By the way the man that gave his wife one for the holidays had a girlfriend on the side and always gave her jewelry for Christmas. It was a small town and when the wife found out about the girl friend, she divorced him and took him for everything he had. I was very happy to hear it!

My late husband was always giving me presents that were totally unsuited to me, but they were given straight from the heart.

I asked for a new vacuum sweeper for Christmas one year and got a karaoke machine instead....because he thought I'd have fun with it (I can't carry a tune in a bucket).

I asked for a puffy parka and got a huge rabbit jacket, because .....well, because he thought I'd love to have a huge rabbit jacket.

I asked for a waterproof sports watch and got a dainty diamond-adorned watch because he thought I had pretty wrists.

The main thing was that they were all from the heart. When he looked at me, he saw someone that I wasnt, someone who was dainty, fashionable and well, not me.....but he was looking with the eyes of love and they're not always 20-20.

I still have the diamond watch, the karaoke machine turned out to be actually fun and the rabbit jacket? Let's say a coyote must have carried it off......that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Can you still get an iron?? Have not had anything ironed at home in many years. If I want ironed it goes to the cleaners.

We have an antique, makes a good door stop, no electricity involved.
Yep @Alligatorob you can still get irons and I do ironing every week but I must say I iron the least amount possible nowadays
I use a Panasonic 360 Steam Iron and both ends are pointed and it has two 'feet' for stability

I still own a steam iron, and even an ironing board .... but they haven't moved from their spots in the closet in 4 years.
I keep thinking that I might do some sewing again, and with that, ironing hems, etc. ..... probably won't happen!

I always buy clothes that don't need ironing if I get them out of the dryer right away. But I've got 2 irons from back in the day that I can't throw away because you never know when someone might knock on the door and say, "Hey, could you iron this for me real quick?"

Still have my steam iron also and not used for years. I take my clothes out of the dryer right away also. I am home most of the time so I don't worry about wrinkles anymore. Don't see many folks but I do have a couple of nice outfits if I ever go out again.
