women's waistlines then and now?

It seems to be like women do not have the teeny waistlines they used to have. Curvy. I'm not talking about fat and skinny. I'm talking about the curvature. I see many thin women & many of them are workout women and in shape, but not the small indented waists anymore. Is it just me? Were their waists small from years of wearing corsets? I do know that corsets can change the structure. Are waists thicker now because people stopped wearing girdles & the like? Just something I wonder about

Corsets are not only out of style big time but were known to cause many serious health problems.

Ladies nowadays are sporty and more fit with more muscle mass than the ladies of bygone eras (especially upper class). Plus food is more plentiful than it was back then, so women are bigger and stronger than back then.

All this, thanks to the women's movement which released women from their bondage in more ways than one. They threw out their corsets and bustles and cut off their hair and the hemlines went up after WWI.

I have to say Dita Von Teese...Mrowww, now there's a waistline

But as for the average woman. I mean you can stuff yourself into Spanx, but really why? Just be yourself. The thing I find incredibly ridiculous is the big butt fad. I mean for women who are naturally curvy embrace it. But having implants to create a big freaky bubble butt? I don't understand that at all.

Oh gentleman...sorry to bust your fantasy...but you do know Pandora is a man...

My nieces have very small waists and they are pencil thin people. They are very nice looking girls but concentrate too much on being "skinny". What about all of us who are big? Isn't there a place for us if not in the garbage?!
