Not so much creepy as just weird as hell. LOLCreepy, wasn't it?
It was on the verge of creepy. But the story took it in a unexpected direction that I thought was funny, heartfelt, compassionate. And also absurd of course. That movie was creepy!
Like in "Psycho"?Yeah wasn't she supposed to represent his mom?
No.Like in "Psycho"?![]()
Not as far as I could tell, and they never created a backstory between he and his mother that would account for his state of mind.Yeah wasn't she supposed to represent his mom?
I just wiki'd it. Apparently it stems from the loss of his mother and then his capabilities of socializing with others. In short anyway. I can see the attraction of AI and companionship and why people would seek that out. But the problem is that it's just a computer. It's not the same. But I guess some people are truly that lonely that they are willing to utilize these services. Not as far as I could tell, and they never created a backstory between he and his mother that would account for his state of mind.
I've never seen that! It's available on Prime Video. I'm going to see if my wife wants to watch it this evening. This thread reminded me of the 2007 Ryan Gosling movie, "Lars and the Real Girl."
I'm going to look that up. I've seen the film maybe 6 times, and I cannot recall the dialog mentioning anything about that. Come to think of it, I'm ready to rewatch the movie tonight.I just wiki'd it. Apparently it stems from the loss of his mother and then his capabilities of socializing with others.
It's not uncommon for Hollywood to create work places like that. And I have sometimes wondered what Lar's firm actually does. But it's not just the office. The entire community seems a bit off.We watched Lars and the Real Girl this evening. I was curious about the office where Lars worked. Was that a mental institution designed to look like a workplace? Everybody there seemed like a nutcase.
At least you could grab the female robot on it's buttocks without fear of being accused for sexual harassmentYou know it's bad enough we hafta be all inclusive and accepting of everyone and everything at work. Imagine going to work and being told you hafta work with one of those and treat it like a real person...![]()
I wouldn't try that with "Ninja Babe"! You'll end up with no teeth. At least you could grab the female robot on it's buttocks without fear of being accused for sexual harassment.
This wouldn't be much different. I already have a complete upper denture and only three molars on the left and right side of my lower jaw which are okay. The 4 incisors are replaced with a bridge which sits on 4 capped teeth (2 left, 2 right).I wouldn't try that with "Ninja Babe"! You'll end up with no teeth.![]()
She wouldn't do much damage here either. Just counted, 5 teeth on top...3 on the bottom. This wouldn't be much different. Like Rosie on "The Jetsons"?There’s a shortage of home help workers. It takes a special person and with our rapidly aging population we’re going to need lots of help. Maybe these can be used for the menial chores like housework, etc.
True. That could be because the writers never held a regular job and have no idea what it's like in a real workplace! It's not uncommon for Hollywood to create work places like that.
