That happened at my son's High School graduation class, and Howard Stern mentioned it on his show!Consider the poor kid whose name is Ben Dover.

Oddly, Hyphenated names have always been a big thing in this country until recently..seems much fewer people are doing that now...I'm ok with my name the way it is. I know this is a little off topic but when I got married I wish I had hyphenated my husbands name with my maiden name because there wasn't anyone to carry on the family name and It was a way of honoring my dad who I loved so much.
I don't think people did much of that in the 70's.
