Would you rather have Endless Love or Endless money?

When my BFF was dying of breast cancer she said to me how grateful she was for her beautiful home in a beautiful neighborhood with a gorgeous garden. So money does buy some comfort. At least it did for her and I never forgot it.

So money does buy some comfort.

Having an accounting/tax background, I have come across many situations where an uninsured person dies after prolonged illness leaving mountains of debt for medical costs, many of which were passed on to family/relatives. All the love in the world from those people did not alleviate the victim's pain one bit nor did it lessen those debts.

Not having experienced any familial or marital love in my lifetime, I know one can readily survive without any of it. But no money? You'd be gone in a minute. I'll take the money any day.

This requires some serious thought., One good acquaintance says, "Money can't buy you happiness, but it can buy you a beer, which is close enough," My father once put up a sign in the kitchen that said, "Kissin Don't Last, Cookin do" Such practical advice runs counter to the gist of the movie Princess Bride and all of the Hallmark Channel movies. Since nothing is really endless and the two aren't mutually exclusive, I'll go for a 70/30 % mix of Love/Money or something like that. :)

I agree.. and it can buy me a great dinner and glass of wine. :ROFLMAO:
I love my Hallmark movies...they have the best Christmas movies.

People with money usually say they don't believe money brings happiness. Of course, none of them would do as their Bible requires by selling all they have and giving it to the poor.
I agree. If they sold all they had and gave to the poor then they would be poor. God wants us to live abundantly...not selfish but abundantly. Which to me is sharing with the less fortunate.

I agree with post which states money cannot buy happiness - but it can make sure you have a roof over your head, food on the table, have running water, heat when its cold and AC when its 100 degrees outside. And pay for me a massage when my muscles get a bit tight. I will take the money.. Love will show up at some point. If not, I will enjoy taking care of ME. I Love my hubby - so I am in the mist of the love thing. God forbid anything happen to him - show me the MONEY!!!:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Money can definitely make you happier if you don't have enough to live like you want to, and if you're happy, you're more likely to find love—especially if beforehand you were angry and depressed about your situation. So I would take money.

Then again, at this age, money doesn't really mean that much. Love is much more important.

So, in my younger days, I'd take endless money. Now, endless love, as long as I have a decent place to live.
We are opposite. In my younger days I'd take endless love without a doubt. Now that I am older and in the mist of love with my hubby. Show me the $$$$$$.

When we're all dead and buried will any of it really matter, (to be really morbid for a moment!).

However, between the choices given, "lying on your death bed" will you be thinking of all the money you've spent or maybe of those you've loved, and and made a difference to, and those who have loved you in return and made your life more worthwhile far beyond any amount of money could do?
I would be thinking awwww thank you God for a life well lived. I was able to travel, help others financially that were in need, etc. To me, having $$$ is about helping others. And I can say a lot of people that have endless $$$ do help others. I am not a millionaire or anything but I do what I can in different ways. With endless $$$$ I could do even more and would.

I was told a story last night in a bar about a farming friend/acquaintance of us all who was very rich and successful in business, and very parsimonious or tight with his dough, when on his death bed, knowing he'd never leave it other than in a box, stated "Money means nothing"!
He was no fool at all, so unless he'd slipped completely at the end, this was his honest view, though I admit he'd loved making all his money! :)

Amen to that.

I agree with him... "Money means Nothing" - not unless you put it to good use..jmo.

I am blessed to have endless love with my wife. As far as money, we have enough to get by and to donate to a number of charities that feed the poor or help the homeless.
