Would you want to live to the age of 100?

There is a guy on my estate who is 100.Fully fit and active.People who do not know he is 100 don’t believe it!
My daughter's nearest neighbour on the mountain where she lives in Spain is 99 years old, and every day he walks over the mountain for 5 km to the bar at the nearest tiny village for a drink , and walks back again, even in the height of summer. He'll occasionally accept a lift from a passing truck, but mostly he walks.... ...

Depends on where you're standing when you think about it. I'd imagine one's view could be quite different when viewed from ,say, age 65 than age 95, assuming you were in relatively good health at both ages.

Like walking up to the edge of a cliff. You don't worry much about falling over 'til you get near the edge.

I completely agree! Whether you would want to keep living would depend on how well you feel at that age. Some of those centenarians look great for their age, while others look like shrunken zombies (and probably feel like one).

One great example of aging amazingly well is Trump's honoree at the State of the Union on Tuesday. Brigadier General Charles McGee is allof 100 years old! And he looks great and much younger, still gets around on his own.

No I wouldn't. My mother (not biological) lived to be 97. I've "planned" to live that long, max. I hope I'd kick it sooner if my health and mind are failingl before I reach that age. Don't want to lose myself (dementia) or be a burden on my loved ones. I certainly don't want to live so long that I can't take care of myself properly.

I keep saying that I am aiming for 150, but hoping
for longer.

Though the way the world is, nobody will be around
for much longer unless we get the terrorists sorted
and the Global Warming first.

Methusela is reputed to have lived till he was 969 years
old and only disappeared during the great floods, he was
Noahs grandfather I heard.

We don't know how time was measured in his day, but it
could have been close to how we measure it, even roughly
by the seasons, if not exact time.

Mike.

My former MIL turned 100 last September. She apparently is still bright, though she has lost the use of her legs. That must be difficult for her, as she was always active, and could outwalk me when she was 80 and I was in my early 50's. Other than her hearing, she's pretty good.

Gary O, I told my daughter that if I should, God forbid, get dementia, it's time for an Alaskan cruise late in the season. Put me on the lido deck with a bottle of Wild Turkey and wish me good night.

As long as I'm reasonably healthy, happy and ambulatory I'd love to live to 100 and beyond. My wife's grandfather lived to be 109 and he was still taking trips down to the grocery store with his friend on their electric carts until about 9 months before he passed. There has been at least one relative who lived to be 105 in my family so it isn't out of the question. I'm trying to do things now to increase my chances of having healthy later years.

I passed mom passed away in 2000 at 71, I'm still here....My dad passed away at 89 years old....
If I'm really I'll at an old age, I probably would not want to live ….Oh, I am old...LOL!!!!!

I'm sorry Peppermint that your Mom passed away at only 71yrs old. My Dad passed away when he was 79yrs old and my Mom was 90 when she passed. My Mom came from a large family and one sister passed at 100yrs old and one at 101yrs old. The last one remaining is in her middle 90's.

God Bless.....You probably will have your Mom/s family to live a long life....

Thought about this a bit more, yes I would like to live to 100 or older. Got out of the city, absolute brilliance ,stopped buying processed foods fantastic. Keeping very regular types of exercise, Einstein brilliance here.
Today, spent two hours cutting, splitting fire wood, stacked it in the shed. Inside, changed over the living room, just a few chairs and threw out half a dozen things. Doctor asked me how I do it, I asked him what?
Says I am going the wrong way, I am supposed to be slowing down etc.
As long as I enjoy what I am doing and I do that for sure. I will stick around, hell most people don't believe the life I have led now. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO::devilish:
No not concerned too much about the virus, no I don't miss other people. Life is good....
