You Don't Like It But You Eat It Cause It's Good For You

Same with me and Broccoli... if I never needed to eat it again, I'd be happy... but I do because it's supposed to be good for me..

I would never eat Canned Salmon it's a disgusting taste to me.. but I eat fresh smoked salmon.. and smoked trout...

Canned Tuna I eat once in a while..not really over keen on it but it's ok occasionally ..especially mixed with Mayo in Vol-au-Vents
You can sub in other cruciferous veg for the broccoli. I do find that broccoli isn't easy to tolerate if not extremely fresh and just barely cooked. Of course adding some cheese sauce and baking it off also does wonders for it.

Canned tuna has turned into virtually cat food, but there are a few brands while expensive taste great and with good texture. I do prefer Albacore over the other species of tuna.

Nope, don't eat things I don't like. We have such a wide variety of foods and supplements in first world countries that I see no need to eat yucky things.

Or if it's a really good for you and popular food I might just eat some forms of it. For example, I hate cooked broccoli but like it well enough raw.

I don't eat vegetables much, so I just drink "SuperGreens".
I think at our age, we should be able to eat anything that makes us happy!
I find eating protein elevates and awakens my mind and I like that feeling
so I eat a lot of that.
I wonder what food will be like in the next generation?
Will they just take a pill everyday?

it's such a pity, because of course it doesn't taste of Soap at all in reality.. nothing even near it.. it has a delicious flavour. What do you do when you eat Indian curries?.. all Indian curries have Coriander in them
Don't know if I've ever eaten Indian before, not much on spicy foods. Being Asperger & diabetic I usually eat the same meal daily. Easier to plan around & if it doesn't come in a can it's usually not on the menu.

As I was thinking I don’t eat anything I don’t like, I was eating my breakfast bran muffin. I don’t love these, except they’re good for me. I make them myself and know how much fibre and little sugar is in these. I can’t eat a bran muffin from a bake shop; they’re full of sugar.

I eat raw broccoli, red cabbage, leafy greens (spinach or kale or arugula), carrots, raw mushrooms and a triple berry blend, every day.
Also a thick bean soup (black, red kidney, pinto beans and lentils) with a multi/whole grain & bean flour bread that I make for myself.
A couple of times a week I'll have a salmon/sardine patty (canned red salmon) that I make and freeze beforehand.
Dinner is an apple and about 1/2 a cup of nuts.....walnuts, almonds, cashews, pistachios, hazelnuts....all unsalted.....whichever I feel like that night. And usually a small bowl of pumpkin seeds.
Breakfast is an avocado, a thick mixture of ground hempseed, ground flaxseed, powdered beet root and oat bran....with just enough water to make it drinkable and a couple of hard boiled, pasture raised eggs. And a cup of black coffee.
To stay on topic, the only thing that I eat but don't really like are brussels sprouts. I'm neutral about them, unlike all the other stuff which I enjoy.

Cilantro or kale - soapy, bitter & disgusting to me. Decided I'm old enough to go without.
Don't like fish at all, plain yogurt ok if you mix with the unhealthy sugar subs. Figure good cancels the bad.
I just have to hear the word cilantro and I heave. Won't eat anything with it added . Over here we call it Coriander . All the women on my side of the family can't stand it.

Life is too short to eat anything that I don’t like.
It can be shorter still if you don't balance a diet. High protein together with a lack of fibre that's in fruit and vegetables causes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol which in turn triggers high levels of triglycerides (dyslipidemia.) Look up dyslipidemia, it can lead to cardiovascular disease with severe complications. Type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease, stroke, gallbladder disease.

Every morning I have a bowl full of porridge that I don't really enjoy, but the fibre in those oats, together with the fresh fruit that I eat throughout the day and a fresh cooked meal in the evening keeps me in relatively good health.

When I first tasted cilantro/coriander, it seemed very soapy or perfumey, but I came to love it over time (it's in a lot of Mexican food, so hard to avoid). Same with avocado tasting of soap.

Some foods are acquired tastes.

Most healthy foods appeal to me. As do a lot unhealthy foods. I try to eat a lot more of the former and enough of the latter to not feel deprived.

Anything you almost have to force down all the while thinking how a dietician would be proud of you?

Mine is canned salmon, I like a tuna fish sandwich but make that sandwich with salmon and I still think yuck.

What about you?
I don't eat anything I don't like, luckily, I love vegetables and clean eating. But there are a lot of things I absolutely love that I don't eat. Gave up sugar completely years ago because I was a complete addict. If I found out tomorrow sugar promoted a longer life and did not cause cancer and other illnesses I would eat it all day, every day. :)

I have never seen a purpose to choke down something on a maybe health benefit

When i was a teen and was developing and my older sister was not equally blessed lets say ....... so i convinced her if she ate 2 items she detested it would help grow her chest. :D
