You may call me Lady Jujube now......

Finally someone who will know the answer to something I've always wondered about. What exactly are shanks? Are they hips or calves? I've heard both. Maybe all the supermodels spring from your ancestors!

My daughter gave the hubby and I DNA test kits for Christmas. We sat around the Christmas tree swabbing the inside of our cheeks. What will be next? lol
Anyway, we finally got the results and there were no surprises.
Me, mostly German and Chez with a touch of Irish. Hubby mostly Scandinavian with some German.
It was fun reading the results though.
I would be more interested in my ancestors occupations, What I was told is that they were mostly farmers.

Very cool Lady Jujube! Also very cool @RadishRose! I got on and off Ancestry twice. Didn't stay because I wasn't taking the time to complete my genealogy. I did find some cousins who I didn't connect with except for a couple of emails. I really should finish watching the DVD our family historian prepared for us. Years ago at a reunion, we were told one of our first ancestors was a German slave trader. I'm certainly not proud of that!

History is history and people are people, nothing to be ashamed of today. I am descended from Georgia and Florida slave and plantation owners, and worse... Wish they hadn't done it, but no changing those things now.

Not me! My ancestors were all farmers and horse tenders; people scratchin the Earth to stay alive. But, I'm proud of them!
I had mostly farmers and later on the immigrants and they did not have a easy life. We have so many great++ grandparents it is hard to keep track. Different lines were in different areas and lifestyles. I like to study census records to see how I can put their lives together. The royalty was only a small part and even those did not have a easy life, in fact it was usually a short life.
