Your Favorite Ethnic Cuisine

Something different from your own ethnic group. Although I want my last meal to include shoo fly pie AND a meatball parm...I adopted Sicilian from hubby. But if you're eating out or doing takeaway...what is your favorite food. I adore Indian, not the hot stuff but mild.

Lamb Korma, a few mango lassi's, oh the appetizer where you don't know what you're eating but it's all perfect. Then two of each dessert to take home...except the kulfi is ice cream-like so you eat it there. Gulab jaman is right up there with the shoo fly pie

Second and third would be Thai and Japanese.
How about you?

I think first Greek, then Indian, then Italian. Very hard to get good Indian food anywhere near my area.

Chinese, especially Americanized Chinese. And there's a middle-eastern place I like to go to to get beef kabobs and shawarma.

when we were in the middle east we were in front of a shawarma stand and my son was trying to order his meal in Arabic. He got the word shawarma mixed up with the word for prostitute and ordered a 'hot prostitute' in front of everyone. I could not stop laughing when I saw the horror on my son's face as he realized what he had asked that covered up old lady for.

Me too Jujube. That's my favorite ethnic cuisine for sure. I cook it myself I like it so much but I hate the smell of fish sauce.

Sure Ralphy. There is poutine. I also love First Nation salmon, barbecued in a pit, oolichans,which are a type of smelt, fried in butter with mushrooms, and onions. Nanaimo bars, created less than an hour from here, and the ubiquitous butter tarts.
