Do you remember your first Primary/Elementary school teacher?
Mine was Mrs.High.A short ,ginger haired women with a piercing voice!

I do remember mine, Mrs. Hoad was her name. She was my favorite teacher that's probably why I remember her.

Yes.

My Kindergarten teacher was an elderly lady about fifty years old! :playful:

I remember that she fell asleep during one of our daily naps and when we woke up we weren't quite sure what we should do.

I don’t remember her name but I do remember she carried me, a very reluctant five year old, kicking and screaming into school !

The only one I remember with fondness was my 4th grade teacher,Mrs. Hadad, she was wonderful
I was having problems with school work,so much so my parents&prinicpal decided it would be best for me to repeat the grade.
She was my teacher again, did so much better the 2nd time around Sue

Mrs. Lawrence was my first grade teacher. I skipped 1B and went into 1A, directly from kindergarten, so I had to make all new friends. It was an experience made easier by a very kind teacher. I remember all of my elementary teachers. Only one was a true witch. Had her husband not been a lawyer, she would have been fired. Her cruelty knew no bounds.

I remember every single teachers name I had and I had a lot! Only one I can’t remember is Kindergarten...maybe because I didn’t speak any English then.

My first grade teacher was Mrs Cronowith and I even have the report card and what she wrote on it.

Mrs. Kephart, an older lady and my sweet first grade teacher. Teachers back then weren't afraid of hugging children. I remember sitting on her lap during class when I was upset. In fact, when I picture her, it's with a child on her lap.

I'm sure there's a special place in heaven for good teachers.

Anybody care to know what I wore to school the first day each year? I can tell you.

What did I have for dinner last night? Can`t remember lol.

I had Mrs. Flannery for kindergarten and first grade because those to grades were in one room. She taught both and with an iron fist I might add. I remember coloring a tree purple when it had the word green printed on the leaves. She gave me a smack for that. She wore a certain perfume and years later when I smelled it my stomach would churn because back then it meant she was near me.

Many times she used the first graders to help the kindergarten kids while she sat reading a magazine.
I never said anything at home and I guess the other kids didn't either. She taught for several years after that and I felt so sorry for those kids in her class.

My first words uttered in public school, at the door of Room 109, as my Mom led me in, and the teacher approached: "Where're the paints!?" I remember being a bit scared, and I remember being told that we'd paint, in kindergarten, so I decided to put on a brave front. It worked. The teacher said to my Mom: "You can leave. He'll be fine!"

My first teacher in kindergarten was a woman called Miss Wick, who was kind of a tomboy type who could hit a softball really well. I stopped by her retirement party when I was in 6th grade and got a hug from her...

Yup, Mrs. Boudreaux. I fell in love with her. No, I really. She had to call my mom, because I kept inviting her home for dinner. She retired from teaching the year I was in her class.
This made me giggle. So so cute...falling in love with her in 1st grade and repeatedly inviting her to dinner.

I don't remember my first grade teacher at all but I remember all of my boyfriend's names  Freddie would give me little presents and I would sing to him on the playground while jumping rope:

"My boyfriend's name is freddie
he comes from the land of spaghetti
with a dimple on his nose and 10 flat toes
and this is the way my story goes

I L-O-V-E, love him
and K-I-S-S, kiss him
I K-I-S-S, kiss him
in the D-A-R-K, dark dark dark

It was a jump rope song where you insert a friend's name and rhyme it with something silly for where he's from. I never really kissed him but wanted to. Then there was Billy. I could go on and on :D

First year was Miss Morton. She had green scaly skin, travelled to school on a broomstick and breathed fire. I also think she ate small children for dinner. I seem to recall that every year alternated between nice, and tyrant. Second year was Miss Lyle - she was nice. Third year was Miss Hunter who ate first year teachers for dinner and picked her teeth with their broomsticks. I can't remember who came after that. It seemed that all the female teachers were "Miss".

Mrs.DeMartinis, very sweet lady, would sing "Getting to Know You".
Got my tonsils out,was a big deal, lots of pain, ran my poor father ragged,I wanted lemon Italian ice,NOT lemon sherbet!
I dropped out,it wasn't mandatory in 1959-60.

Mrs. Hawkins. What an old bat she was! Horrible woman who thought I was stupid when in fact I was bored. Then I had nuns for a couple years. Sister Agnes Louise. Also an old bat and mean as a snake. I guess the irony here is that I became a teacher myself. I'm proud to say most of my kids loved me, and together we learned a lot.

I very fondly remember my first (and second -- two classes in the same room) grade teacher. Her name was Mrs. Mortensen and she taught me to READ, which I thought was the greatest thing in the world, and opened up the world for me.
