Your own body, what hurts today?

I wish I could go on Amazon and buy a new knee. My left knee is a nuisance. My right isn't great either, but the left gives me constant pain. The doctor gave me Codeine to take daily, but I resisted pain killers for the longest time. Now I find I am, indeed, needing help daily.

Plus, I'm a man. So I whine about it a lot, and make it sound like a bigger deal than it is. If anyone will listen, I'll talk to them about it. You know. :D

I have Cervical Stenosis, which causes me a lot of pain. Mostly in my arms and hands, which combined with arthritis, makes my hands hurt to the point they are useless at times. Every three months I go for an Occipital Nerve Block, which helps a lot even though I never fully understood why I get those particular shots as I have no problems with my Occipital Nerves. But they work exceptionally well for me for about a month and a half, then slowly over the rest of the three month cycle, my pain levels increase again, sometimes far worse than others.

Right now, I am not so patiently waiting for my next ONB, which is coming up on Friday. This has been one of those "far worse" times. Three days to go and my pain levels will drop like a rock for the first 12 to 16 hours, depending on how well the numbing agent works. After that they go back up for up to a week, but that only happened one in 12 years. The benefit of the shots usually kicks in within a day or two.

I'm hoping the next three days goes by quickly.

cold weather seems to aggravate my already existing
aches/pains, so today they are a bit more uncomfortable.

This coming Friday it will be two weeks since I had my Occipital Nerve Block, and I feel vastly better. I've actually slept on my side a couple of times, which I can't do at the end of the three months in between ONBs.

More importantly, I made a big pot of Spaghetti last night that was sooo good. I like the Stouffer's Spaghetti, but this was much better. I made it with one of Cindy's recipes. Before I met her, I could barely boil water for tea...
