Your own body, what hurts today?

The treads on the cellar stairs are shorter than my shoe length! I always feel I'm falling forward going down, but at least there there's a hand rail.

Older basement stairs dont have to meet code if they are "grandfathered" in but if you alter them then they have to meet code.
Try going down sideways. I have big feet so thats what I have to do when I encounter those.

Mentioned it before, and will mention it again. :D

Left knee. I can deal with everything else, but this damn knee is just too much. I am back to taking pain killers daily, and sometimes multiple times a day, solely because of my left knee. What the heck happened? How did I get here? Why has that one part of my body decided to deteriorate?

I'm very much a "stiff upper lip" brit, but damn.

The stairs in my house in London were steep - the house was built in the mid-19th century and I'm sure they were steeper and narrower than code. It was one reason for moving out - that and the downstairs bathroom. I miss having my own garden though. My neighbours - in a slightly older house, c. 1840 - had the stairs replaced with a spiral staircase.

It wasn't pain so much, just an annoyance.

I once had one of those 'hanging off' warts on the side of my nose.
I tried many wart remover remedies, but none worked, the wart was extremely happy where it was living.
Then someone suggested pulling the wart out away from the skin, then tying a piece of thread around the base of the blighter, thus starving it, so, I tugged on the wart and got a friend to tie the thread.
It worked, after 5 days the wart fell off.
The downside was that I went cross-eyed during that 5 days and I walked into 17 lamp-posts... I jest. 😊

Drink a large glass of water, that should do the trick.
If your breathing is ok, then drink some very warm water slowly as you do not want to choke. If you feel it getting smaller , keep drinkng till it's gone. If it moves and does not dissolve, call 911 please. Tell them if your breathing is compromised. Be very careful as this could be a large enough blockage to hamper breathing. Let us know.

Once I had some sort of throat problem but can't remember exactly what it was. I googled it and was directed to drink a couple of tablespoons of olive oil. I remember that it worked. Not sure this is related to your problem but sometimes google or youtube helps solve a problem.

Last time I consumed pain medicine was on day 4 after my abdominal surgery that now on recovery day 27 is only slightly tender. Generally over my adult lifetime have avoided consuming any pain medications except if pain reaches levels of say a minor toothache. Also rarely have ever had headaches. Otherwise, have minor pain at times with arthritis in some of my finger knuckles.

I'm recovering from some sort of throat/ear infection. Got about 3 hours of sleep over 3 days, 30 minutes at a time. Thought it might be strep, or an earache. Went to Urgent Care - negative on strep. The PA wrote scripts for a lidocaine-based liquid to take the sting out of the throat pain and a pretty powerful combined antibiotic. Finally, on Day 4, I can speak. And I finally got some sleep.

This was awful. Hope I never see this again.
