What Thing(s) Do You Not Give A Hoot About That The Rest Of The World Is Fascinated With?

I never cared for the "Star Wars" movies or "Lost in Space." I could never understand the long lines at threaters.

As a young person, I never understood the "Fast Car" thing...."I can blow your doors off..." "I'm runnin' 400 horsepower..." "I can burn rubber...."

Oh no! Not Downton Abbey!!! That has to come off your list! :playful:

Well it would if the characters were historically correct... being a Victorian/Edwardian Buff, I sit through the programme calling'' Noooo that would never happen...or noooo that person/area wouldn't be dressed/say/look like that. it drives me nuts!!

I agree, Traveler. Downton was a great series/drama. Great acting and characters and plots, it even showed the clothing styles and relationships between the wealthy and their staff in the early 1900. It covered the first world war and explained why the wealthy became less so after the war. I've seen it at least three times. And I cried my heart out when two of the characters died (can't say which, don't want spoilers, you probably know which). My favorite character was Bates, wish I could have met a guy like that, I would have married him the minute he asked.

After I read your comment I was curious and I found this article about the historically correct argument and this below is what it said. It was interesting! I did think that the servants were treated a little too well, but not all rich people are mean, I even read that some slave owners treated their slaves kindly in the US, so there's always exceptions. I found it very sad that women before 1937 could only divorce their husband " if they were able to prove they had been excessively beaten".

I also have never been into the Reality Television and wish TV would get back to the good old fashion Television Sitcom days.

I totally agree with you. I've never been interested in watching any of them.I really do wish old sitcoms would come back again.I'm disappointed in some of the shows I watch now are not coming back in the new season. Criminal Minds,NCIS and a few others.

"the world has gone crazy on foods - "

And they wonder why we have an obesity problem.....:)

Sports, all celebrities, computer games, coffee, designer clothes, walkable communities and most anything at all to do with Hollywood.

People that have to talk like some others. The biggest example is when people say, Oh my God." Now we hear it said like "Oh...….my...……..God".

Back when I was commuting, I listened to the first book on audio ... or at least most of it. That was long before the television program came out. Decided it was trash at that time and have never had any interest in seeing the TV show.

I never cared for fantasy, but everybody is different. I guess I prefer realism. I didn't care for ''Star Wars'' but loved "Close Encounters of the Third Kind", even though it was still fiction it seemed like ''it could happen''. Never cared to watch or read Harry Potter, either. The movie ''Gattaca'' was set in the future, but it's possible some day we will get to that point since resources will become scarce on Earth and only ''perfect humans'' will be deemed acceptable.

I tried to like Game of Thrones, I really did. But it finally became so confusing so early on, I couldn't keep up and lost interest altogether.
