Why would we be shocked every time it snows, it is expected every January and February..........some years it snows in December and some years the snow can last into March.
Too much generalisation going on here as regards us British.

I am shocked at the very thought of snow. :winter1:
I have been here for 72 years and we have always been prepared for snow, a winter isn't a winter without snow.
But there what do I know, I was only born here.

Elyzabeth, you could be talking about the southern states in the U.S. We don't get snow often enough to merit the expense of road clearing equipment, so when we do get a couple of inches of snow, everything shuts down.
