Drones and the Invasion of Privacy

If the government or police have other evidence that I'm committing a crime, then I might be okay with it, if they get a warrant. As I said, I gradually accepted traffic cams and bldg. security cams. But hovercraft roaming the neighborhood, equipped with who knows what, and controlled by who knows who - No Way!

I don't know which apps you have, but I know that my daughter has/had several that tracked her locations. If it really matters to you, go online and Google with something like: "does app 'X' track my location?" You may be surprised.
 
I was fly fishing out of a kayak at a local river.... I hear buzzing behind me and here comes a drone up stream... then notice a lady about 200 yards down steam... I wave and go back to fishing.. She flies the damn thing up close, over me around in front looking with the camera I guess...
I give it a what the hell look... off it goes.. but every few minute its comes back towards me.....
And then on a back cast my line hits it.... tangles up and in the river it goes.... I caught it so its mine right?
She goes absolutely berserk, screaming at me... its a $1000 drone and I'm paying for it.... calls the cops....
Game Warden arrives too, checks my licence, and makes me give up my new broken drone... No big deal, I mostly catch and release anyway..
Shes yelling about the $1000.... Game warden tells her no..... and threatened to give her a ticket for interfering with my fishing,
And she should pay $50 to replace my fly line since the propellers cut it... I declined it though..
When she left she was smoking tires, And Cops pulled her right over and gave her a ticket for reckless driving....

When drones got popular, someone was using one to spy on a neighbor's teen-age daughter who was sunbathing in the back yard. The father shot down the drone, destroying it. The idiot owners of the drone found out where they lived & decided to confront the father, complaining that the drone cost $1,800.00.
The father gave them a warning: "If you trespass here, there will be another shooting."

Correct me if I am wrong?....But I believe the father was charged in that incident , and made to pay restitution for the destroyed drone.

I don't know if the father was charged, or if he had to pay restitution. If he was charged, the worst he could be charged with would be discharging a firearm in the city limits. The case sort of disappeared from the news with no follow-up info. I vaguely remember that the drone's owners sued him but I don't know if they won.

Well,I'm not 100% sure either, but I thought I heard he was charged, just as you say?....and was in fact made to make restitution?

I understood his reasoning, but depending on just where it took place....it could be very dangerous to others. As such, I understand as well the need to set an example.
 
Keesha, about the cell phone apps, I saw something in the paper about an app that can trace whether we were exposed to the Coronavirus. It keeps track of what people are known to be positive, and how near they got to others. Talk about Big Brother!
