This happened to me last night and this morning. I got 2 emails saying that they had a video taken from my computer camera of me doing lude actions while watching Porn. They said if I sent them money I had to say it was a donation, they would send me the video. If I didn't send them money they would send the video to 20 people I know. First of all I don't watch porn, secondly if I was in a Horney mood I would just flirt with my Husband and he would respond immediately.Of course I put both messages in spam and didn't hit on the link in there where I could send the money. At my age now no one would want to see the video and neither would I. Have you ever received a spam like this one.

Well, if you are innocent of any [action] don't worry about it.

Sounds like you opened email that contains ransomware. If you can, contact your server for assistance in this matter. I never open email from a source I do not recognize nor from one I know will not be sending me email to that address.

I noticed in the email they had the letter BCT. I looked up different sites and found BitCoin. I read some of the peoples responses and many of them mentioned getting spam emails telling them to send money to Bite Coin or they would expose a video of them watching Porn and pleasuring themselves. I'll bet that's where they would want me to send the money.

So much crap out there. I don't open anything that looks not right, anything that comes into my spam, i delete right away, without opening. Maybe i've been in the cabbage too long, but i just don't get why people do this, they need to get a job or a life or both.

NO! It has never happened to me. I don't go to any porno sites & never have. Never even bought a "Playboy" or "Hustler" magazine. Got too many hobbies & got too many things to do. Never bored & never lonely & never hang around "pervert" sites. They say, "Get a Life" & boy I got one. LOL Been reading on my e-reader a book written by John Muir about his trip in the Sierra Mountains of California in 1869, went for a long walk outside, then went down & washed my car. When I go on the computer, I do my "thing" quickly & then move on. They had a "Happy Hour" here yesterday but I was just too busy to attend. Maybe when I get older. LOL

Yes, I got this email, too. Since my desktop doesn't have a camera and my laptop's camera has a piece of duct tape covering it (learned to do this from a friend in IT), I'm not worried about anyone looking in on me.

Internet porn? Not for me. Unless you mean some of the racier moments in @Gary O's taproom. In that case, count me in.

I’ve never gotten an e-mail quite like that, but did once get a similar phishing phone call accusing me of ā€œinappropriate internet activity,ā€ and demanding that I call a certain number immediately where I’m sure they would have tried to extract my confidential information. Scammers use fear and intimidation to try and get victims to respond quickly in an unwise fashion so they can exploit them. I’ve gotten similar ploys supposedly from the ā€œIRSā€ and the ā€œU.S. Government.ā€

I don't open anything that hits any of my spam folders (I have multiple email accounts) so I wouldn't know if I had been "threatened" like this. I just delete everything at least once a week.

Scammers are crook; they are gangsters & they are cold blooded criminals. At least real criminals like booth-leggers had to work for their money. Watch Elliot Nash in "The Untouchables" & you'll see that being a gangster was truly hard work. Now, today, the criminals are just plain lazy. They sit in their PJs in front of their computer & rip people off. They appear too darn lazy to even write up a resume & go to try get a job. They truly deserve to be locked up for a very long time with hard labour & have the "key thrown away".

How do you get them to automatically go into your spam folder. I always have to do it myself,or do you put it in yourself when you don't know the email sender ?

Spam should automatically be going into your Spam folder. If you don't recognize the sender, just delete - don't open.

This never happened but I did get my computer shut down from ransom wear from China. Had to take it to Best Buy to get the šŸ˜‚ virus removed.
