CNN is starting to say we may need to wear face shields and goggles as well

I am prepared. Already bought some face shields and the goggles arrived today. If they are comfortable I will buy a couple more. Buying masks, face shields, goggles, and wipes when I can find them, certainly take up a large part of my budget.

I have a lot of disposable masks and need to get more since we don't know how long this virus is going to be causing a major problem. I thought about getting a face shield but I wear glasses and wonder how or if I can wear that, too.

I can wear goggles over my glasses but with the shield it would depend on the design.

I still work some.... I bought an air filtration system to put in my office. It is supposed to be as effective as masks. I can't imagine working all day and wearing a mask the whole time.
I can't imagine working in an office that is shared with 3 other people & high traffic with no masks. Let alone just working with no mask.

Retirees can probably escape most of the risk of this virus, if they limit their exposure to others, and follow the mask and distancing rules. However, those who are still working, especially in an office environment, must be extra careful.

I'm concerned about the opening of schools, in coming weeks. I hope that doesn't result in another spike.

I hate the thought of them opening schools.

I was watching Fauci's testimony before a Congressional committee on Friday and he made the comment that for full protection, he advised wearing goggles for full protection.

Oh yeah, the CNN medical experts on the move again. Next week, they'll tell us to encase ourselves in bubblewrap.

Let's keep the country shut down so we can all stay home and watch Morning Joke, Fredo, and the rest of the moonbats instead of being productive citizens.
I don’t know why you “put down” the experts no matter who they are or what channel they are on. You are free to do what you want when you want except in a few places that are now giving tickets to those not wearing masks. Go forth and work! There are jobs.

My state, for the most part, is completely reopened. Schools will open soon. Movie theaters are open now. In my county masks are required, but those who refuse to wear them are not fined or arrested.

Since I am retired, I guess I am a non productive citizen. Except I do spend money, prop up the failing economy, so I am somewhat productive. 😂

I have many face masks and lots of Isopropyl which I use daily , ready and in preparations for the possibility of a second wave in Autumn or winter caused by the drop in temperatures.

@Ruthanne, I don't have any face shield, but I have seen people who wear glasses wearing the shields seemingly without problems, but they do say that to not only protect others but to ensure you are as safe as you can be, you should in fact wear a face mask under the shield too ..I definitely think I will do that during winter time if I'm anywhere that's highly populated..

Is this recommendation to don shields and goggles from Fauci, the guy who removes his mask when he thinks the cameras aren't on him, as he did at the ball game recently? You know Fauci ... who has been inconsistent in his advice not to mention predictions.

Don, you can be sure there will be another spike. Every time they have had an "event," the disease spikes. It's just lurking out there, waiting for the next opportunity. There was some uncertainty about how dangerous it would be for children.

There was an article today about a children's camp in Georgia, where hundreds of kids and staffers got the virus less than a week after spending time in close quarters. More than 3/4 of those tested came out positive.

Oops, sorry, I just saw that Pinky had posted the same link.

911 already answered this.

The only problem with this is if this virus is so airborne then the infected aerosol would go right around this shield.
I was thinking the same thing. Couldn't the virus travel up under the shield? I only go to the store and post office (and not that often) so I'll take my chances with my masks. I have a couple of custom ones my HD gave me. And I bought the KN95's both of which I can breathe better in than the standard medical masks.

Sorry I got involved in this thread. Each of us has to do what (s)he thinks is the best course of action to get thru this mess.

No offense intended to anyone.
@Damaged Goods No offense meant or taken. I was just saying 911 saw it on tv when Congress was talking to the doctor on Friday. I should give more complete answers.
