In the last 3 weeks, I have got warnings from Facebook that I was going to be banned if I put anything else in that was inappropriate. one was a birthday card I sent to my niece's son. It was a cake with candles on it. The second one they didn't give a reason why. Then yesterday my friend said she didn't think she was Beautiful. I answered with "you are Beautiful Perfect and precious. and then I put in a song by Bruno Mars. They told me it was unacceptable. I also saw that they said I had banned someone from responding to anything I posted. I never did that and I saw the person's name and I don't even know them. They are making me nuts. Here is the song I put in.

Why don 't you tell FB to go "F" off and find an alternative. There are rumblings of regulating certain social media sites as utilities instead of private enterprises with censorship being one of the reasons.

Another thing, does your politics align with theirs?

Facebook sounds a bit strange lately . Then again I’m not a member of Facebook and never have been.

That’s really odd sassycakes. I can’t imagine you posting anything inappropriate. They’re just nuts. Don’t pay any attention to them.

This morning my husband posted a picture of the 16ā€ trout he caught and it got deleted. Go figure. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø Our world has gone crazy.

There's no guy in the back room watching every FB post for violations. It's a computer program. And FB, and other social media platforms know that sooner or later, they will be legally liable for the content they share. There is one major axiom about law suits, and that is always sue the ones with the deepest pockets. FB has deep, deep pockets, and millions of suit happy subscribers. Is FB over reacting to prevent being responsible for its content? I dunno. But I do believe they are under pressure to clean up their act. Many do not understand that "free speech" does not mean you can say whatever comes out of your mouth, and then escape the responsibility of your actions.

Talking politics on there is something on there is something I never do. I only go in there because my grandsons went on when they were young and I wanted to make sure they were ok. After I started going on there I met a lot of cousins I have never met. They were from 2 of my Uncle's second marriages. I was happy to finally met them because my Uncles were too embarrassed in those days to show up with their second family.

Several years ago, there was a way to pull up your FB political profiling data. I looked mine up and apparently had confused the algorithms but it wound up being pretty much on target. They had my political leanings listed by US political party as Democrat, Green, Libertarian, Republican and a couple of more lol.

Facebook is getting on my last nerve! They banned me from clicking like in one of my groups about a month ago then did it again a couple of weeks ago. Like you, these were harmless, feel good things that I didn't even comment on. A friend of mine just told me she was banned from posting something, not only in someone else's group but her own! My son and her have been in "Facebook Jail" a couple of times.

Today I tried to log on to post a Happy Birthday In Heaven tribute to my mother. I have two factor ID so they were supposed to text me a code. It didn't come in for several minutes...now I notice it's there. I don't go to FB nearly as much as I used to, sometimes more than a week but I don't want to get off entirely because it's a way I stay connected with family members (many in different states, a couple in different countries) and old, dear online friends I connected with about 14 years ago from Eons, which folded unexpectedly a few years ago.

I don't know what's happening but they'd better get their act together. Some stupid stuff has taken place on that site, especially since they changed their format.

What can I click on to check my political profiling? I never post or respond to Political posts.

A friend was warned because of some post/meme she copied two years ago. No logic to it. Obviously they have new algorithms scanning for something different.

I belong to one humour site that defines itself as naughty. It’s really gone beyond that in many cases; FB doesn’t seem to care. Strange. I just ignore.

Another site I follow has found workarounds for opinions/facts that in theory would get them booted.

Different Strokes for different folks. Myself, I have been off Facebook for nearly a year. Don't miss it at all because I'm a pretty busy boy. Don't do Twitter either. Don't do any social media at all. Hack, I don't even own a "smartphone." Just a little ole' flip phone for emergencies. Don't want anymore social media sites with photos of drunks, dancing dogs, flying cats, people desperate to prove to other people that they have some sort of a life and other things that seem so important to a lot of folks.
Oh yes, you can call me strange but you know I'm pretty happy with my life so for me, that counts for a lot more than how many "likes" I get on some post.

Sassy, the FB censorship algorithm is programmed to pick up on certain words and to scan photos, but it's a program that's subject to errors. If you keep your FB account to stay in touch with family, it's just something you have to live with. It's a shame, but it is what it is.

Zuckerberg was pressured to come up with a "watch" program, and right or wrong, he did. But he had a lot to lose, so I get it.

Facebook ............. They banned me from clicking like in one of my groups about a month ago then did it again a couple of weeks ago ......................
Have you had this confirmed? I've heard of it happening but I follow & "like" a political party on FaceBook that is on the opposite side of the fence of the present government and is even slandered for false allegations. But so far I haven't been banned. So, has Facebook actually informed you that your "like" is the reason for you being banned? If they have, it would be really great if you could copy and paste it here for us to see. (y)

If they suspend you, you can access your account through a family member's facebook page, go through their friends list until you find yourself and click on your image. It bypasses the system, takes you to your own page, and you should be okay from there.

Exactly. An algorithm scans posts blindly for a predetermined set of "violations" of Facebook's Terms of Service(TOS)..which, by the way, you have at some point agreed to, as a condition for continued use of their website.
On social media there is no "right" to free speech, a website is private property. You can exercise your right to free speech on public lands, in a lawful manner.
