We ware having a wave of gun violence in Sydney. Three people shot, two are dead, in this last week.
All of them members of feuding crime families.
Not at all the same as a gunman intent of mass murder for ideological/racial hatred reasons.

The Buffalo supermarket killer says he was driven to kill by the ‘great replacement theory’ which claims white people are being driven to extinction by migrants.
Payton Gendron’s 180 page Google Drive document detailed his twisted reasons for carrying out Saturday's massacre at the Top Market supermarket, killing 10.
A large part of the manifesto focused on the 'great replacement theory'. IT claims whites are being deliberately outnumbered in the US by migrants from other countries to skew elections in favor of the Democrats.
Gendron said he'd chosen to target the upstate New York store because it sat in the zip code 14208, which he said 'has the highest black percentage that is close to where I live.'
He included a rudimentary map of the store, but didn't name it prior to the shooting, saying he didn't want to tip anyone off should his manifesto end up in the hands of law enforcement.
The manifesto said that he'd been radicalized entirely by the internet - rather than anyone he'd met in real life - and added that he’d been inspired by Brenton Tarrant.
Tarrant is a white supremacist who live-streamed himself murdering 51 Muslims at a mosque in Christchurch, New Zealand, in 2019.
Gendron said: 'The truth is my personal life and experiences are of no value.'

Aside from killing 10 people and seriously injuring more, he was already going to jail for the rest of his life for killing a retired cop before he even turned the gun on everyone else.....I don't believe NY has the Death penalty . This being a racist hate crime he's going to suffer for the rest of his life in many ways more than just being locked up when he's in prison..
I just can't help thinking what a waste of a young life..what kind of mental instability does that to a Young person... ?,.. I won't be surprised if we hear there's some deep racism within the family...
There's more than racism being he threatened to shoot up his high graduation ceremony. Now there's reports of an school incident although can't find an article to post yet-all video. The manifesto is doing exactly what he wanted-talk about him. I'm still blaming the parents on this one although he is a good example of a demon seed.

White supremacist hate crimes like this are of course atrocities. But when we talk about gun violence in the US, we need to remember that this type of thing represents only a tiny percentage of the killing that goes on every day. We had about 20,000 people killed by guns last year, not counting suicides. If racist killers accounted for 100 of those I would be surprised.
We need ultra-targeted programs to go after the racist killers (who are both black and white -- see the NYC subway shooter, who had his own "manifesto"). We'll never do anything about guns so I'm not even going to talk about that.

There were flags here. That's the frustrating part. Also wonder if he was evaluated and counseled if was medicated by them or their own doctors. Manny teen mass shooters were on psych medication.

Something like this happens about every other year. Meanwhile on Friday night black people shooting other black people accounted for 22 wounded and three dead in Milwaukee. And that is the kind of thing that happens literally every day, with little comment.
Black people kill thousands of other black people each year -- usually teenagers spraying each other (along with innocent bystanders) with semi-automatic weapons. Where are the "protection squads" needed? To protect against extremely rare occurrences? Or to protect against everyday events?

Your assessment @JimBob1952 of black on black crime is not applicable to this kind of situation.
Now, of course I don't know what will happen. I am projecting based on the past. The Black Panthers were a positive force within their communities, armed, educated and caring for their fellow citizens, all while making the statement they will not go willingly, or ignore, white supremacy. White supremacy has been noted by FBI to be our country's #1 problem. I don't know what will happen, but I wouldn't be surprised if my scenario turns out to be correct.

What do you mean "it's not applicable?" That's the worst kind of leftist BS. It's perfectly applicable to point out that white racists killing black people is an extremely rare if highly despicable occurrence, while black people killing other black people is so common as to not merit mention.
The FBI can say whatever they want. Most people see inflation, Russia, China, the border, crime and a host of other issues as far more serious than white supremacist groups, who are disorganized, small in total numbers and heavily infiltrated by the FBI (as we saw with the planned kidnapping of the Michigan governor.) Even black people put racism far down on their list of everyday concerns.

What more can I say except We Will See? I disagree with your assessment but we will see. I can't predict the future, but I'm seeing a trend. The FBI was talking of criminal behavior, not other problems in society.

The white supremacists were emboldened by previous POTUS who stated "there are good people on both sides." He refused to condemn the hatred & violence in Charlottesville.

NY does not have the death penalty, but if they can prove this as being a hate crime, the Feds may be able to charge him and they do have the death penalty. We’ll have to wait and see where this goes.
If they decide to try to Indict, facially, it is a slam dunk.

Black people are free to form paramilitary groups to stand guard against the threat posed by murderous white supremacists. If they do so, should they ignore the threat posed by black teenagers, who kill about 500 times as many black people each year as murderous white supremacists do? Or is that "not applicable" to this discussion?

I'm no fan of the orange person, but you really have to stretch to say that a comment made in 2017 caused a person (who was then 14) to pick up a gun and kill black people four years later. It's easy to throw BS around, much harder to prove direct cause and effect.
It's not applicable to my "theory of what might be" for this situation, no.
