I walked out of my workplace on Wednesday

Before I left I spoke to HR to tell them why. They listened attentively and told me to take a ten day break - with pay.
I walked out because I am extremely overworked - what with the lack of workers. I am doing the work of 3.
I am in heavy industry and the work is relentless, heavy and dangerous.
Plus I am training two new workers who know nothing about the industry.
Plus there are a couple of workers who treat me like crap.
I had enough, that is why I walked out.

Do you plan on going back?

@Bretrick, take your time to evaluate your position and what you want for your future. You have been given the gift of time to think clearly. There are two doors in front of you. One leads to a very familiar place. You know that place very well.

The other provides a path to an uncertain future that could be most fulfilling. Only you know which door you should walk through. Are you strong enough to return to the familiar workplace, or are you ready, like a 16th century mariner, for new adventures?

Good luck to you, whichever door you may choose.

Thank you.
I am strong enough to return to the fray.
I am also strong enough to try new ventures.

Good on you

I walked out on a couple jobs
There's a snapping point, seems

I had fam, bills, but a few bucks to get me to the next job, or jobs
Jobs were pretty plentiful at the time

One I'd quit was so justifiable I received unemployment
Boy, did I ever bleed that one
Lotsa fishing
Or git up around noon
Trudge out to the mailbox to look for my unemployment check
or
Chop/stack wood
The kids would ask their mom......'is dad ever going back to work?'
I got underfoot with the wife
Got thrown outa the kitchen
Got stale, somewhat bathless for days
Continuous bedhead
Developed an itch in odd places

Went back to work

Take these 10 days and gather yer thoughts, @Bretrick

There are plenty of jobs here as well, so if necessary, I will walk.

"I am in heavy industry and the work is relentless, heavy and dangerous."

What is / what do you do in heavy industry ?
In my particular job, I move very large steel plates weighing up to 8 tons.
Loading onto and off laser cutting machines. I use oxy/acetylene cutting equipment.
Hot/heavy/dangerous work. Everything has to be done very carefully because of the extreme weights. One wrong move/equipment failure could lead to severe injury or death.

Ah ... thanks for the explanation ... stay safe & good luck.

I am wondering if you could take this time away from all the hassle and do some things you like. Fish? Hiking? Reading? Music? You know things you enjoy for awhile...just don't go overboard. :)
