But we will miss reading this soap opera she lives. The best news ever: New Lady won't be there anymore after Saturday!
That reminds me, I must defrost the little freezer . The fridge is frost free, but the little freezer is not... ironically my Huge freezer in the barn is Frost free..lolLike @NorthernLight, I’m experiencing SAD. Dismal days, extremevery cold and I hate walking in the wind. If it were just for today, I’d cheat and not go. Will have to make myself. Brrr.
Spent the morning clearing out old emails. It’s so darn easy to file them and forget. Feel better after doing that.
Next up is reorganizing the freezer. I’ve had an apple crumble pie stored in there for a couple of weeks. Yummy.
Oh, GG. If you saw how I bundle up, you’d wonder who this eccentric old lady was walking down the street. My husband who never comments on anything has started acknowledging my strange hats. Last year I bought a man’s hat that has ear flaps that come down. This year I found one that also snaps under the chin. He did comment on the ‘bunny‘ ears on it. I hadn’t noticed because I don’t look in the mirror before leaving the house. He was right. I have no idea what purpose they serve other than making me look weird. I’ll still continue wearing them.BTW, if you feel like you have to walk in the cold and wind, having your ears covered helps a lot. Actually, cover your whole head, but for sure your ears.
Very smart and fortunate doggie of yours!Rain stopped this morning but it's chilly and overcast. Dreary.
Doggie sleeping by my side on the couch.
I cleaned out the fridge, took out the trash and cooked chicken gizzards and hearts for Doggie. Ran them through the food processor. She was very happy!
Will put some salmon and asparagus in the oven for supper later. I should throw a load of laundry in, eh.
We got lucky and found a rental car, SUV.So sorry to hear…..glad none were hurt.
Yes, looking for a vehicle can be very challenging…..hope you can find one soon, that fits your needs.

SAD……is a very unkind disorder……have had it for many years……used to use a SAD light, till it became of no use to me anymore. That's about what it was here yesterday. I'm not used to the concept of "clear and cold." So, since it was nice and sunny yesterday, I went out in the evening in my indoor clothes plus just my little vest. Not even hat or mitts. Yikes, cold! But I was just walking across the parking lot, so I was okay.
Today is a FAIL. I'm still in bed. Fighting this SAD (seasonal affective disorder/winter blahs) is just too hard sometimes. Oh well, could be worse, right?
Yes, he said last night when I called him that he ached all over. Today though, he says he feels better. He is half owner so we need him to deal with ICBC (otherwise known as ikybikie) along with his dad! DH thought he was gonna send DS alone, but DS dug his heels in and insisted that DH go with him.@mrstime Is your son feeling ok today? Sometimes the aches and pains come the day after.
Glad you found a rental.
Wintering in a nicer climate would probably be a very big plus for you…..and me …..and others……but…..sadly it comes at a very high price.Thank you, @MickaC . I just canceled tonight's trivia game. This also meant notifying my cohost.
I've known for many years that things fall by the wayside in the winter, and I shouldn't begin anything new in January or February. At this latitude I think my SAD lasts until April. It did last year anyway.
Well, yesterday evening, I started attending book club. Maybe I'm paying the price today. I usually seem "fine," so it's hard to know when to say no.
I don't think SAD lights work for me either. I'm really beginning to think I need to spend winters in the tropics. The money aspect is daunting, but maybe I can't afford NOT to go....
I don't know anything about cars....Dio does. He will weigh all of the variables and pick a good one. He knows his stuff! Comfort, gas mileage, etc. I'm just resisting change, and feel like complaining!
That's a good strategy for car-shopping, Trila!
(Seriously though, I hope you will continue to be fussy, until hopefully you will find one that you will enjoy having next!)
Something similar happened to my wife's sister. She thought that the white clips of her bra were plastic, not so. She said the noise and panic were similar to that which you described. It didn't help when her other half produced a poster for the musical: "Half a Sixpence." It depicted the song: "Flash, Bang, Wallop what a picture!" The family still laugh but it was serious. They'd just started moving the scanning bed with me on it when there was an almighty banging, and nurses scrambling to stop the machine.. The culprit was a Hair band in my pocket which had a tiny metal tag on it.. *sheesh!![]()
The Jive aces are appearing very near me tonight.. wish I'd known I'd have gone to it...Something similar happened to my wife's sister. It's been a busy week, we had a lovely evening on Tuesday, friends had invited us to a pancake meal, it being Shrove Tuesday. Savoury pancakes followed by dessert pancakes, a glass of wine and then two hours of small talk in convivial company, wonderful!
Yesterday I spent twelve hours at work, it was one of those situations that called for all hands to the pump. I actually enjoyed it, when a monumental error is turned around, put right and goodwill maintained, it can be deeply satisfying.
Today we shall choose our outfits for Saturday and probably change our minds at least twice. This is where we are off to, what a couple of geriatric old rock & rollers we are!
