Wǒ xīwàng bùshì (I hope not!)I predict that everyone will be speaking Chinese
True, the U.S. is huge! It's just a bit smaller than Europe, which is even huger! But they're able to have high-speed rail. That's because they're not terrified of SOCIALISM!!! And it takes government enterprise to build something like high-speed rail. The only thing we care about in the U.S. is profit, which is why all attempts at building high-speed rail have failed. It's true, we don't, other than underground subways and a few that only serve one part of one city. But keep in mind how unimaginably big the US is.
I hope Kurzweil was right when he predicted that we’ll ‘hit’ Singularity – the latest human invention, after which, at least this is what I think, we are just Gods (we, or just a chosen EliteOffer your predictions about what is going to come-to-pass, in the not so distant future.
My prediction: that it will be possible to transfer one being's consciousness to another.
They've already been test driving them. So I anticipate the same.I predict we'll have flying cars ..![]()
Thanks, @Michael Z ! Will watch later. Looks interesting!Well, according to this video, life as we know it will change drastically within a generation of 1948, which would be within 20 or fewer years, and will most likely be cut very short for many if not most. I have seen other similar predictions, but this one carries a bit more weight with me.
Right now 1.31 billion people speak Chinese. China is already the world's largest economy, its economy is more than 20 percent larger than the US economy, according to the IMF. https://cepr.netI predict that everyone will be speaking Chinese.
I seeGood thoughts, caroln ... wonder how they're going to overtake Amazon who's already doing a lot of those things including healthcare and prescriptions?

Well, I sure hope not. Amazon won't deliver certain items to my current address. When I lived on the island, they wouldn't deliver certain items there either. So what good are they?I seeWalmartAmazon as dominating our lives, even more so than they do now.
I'm wondering if that ^^^^^^^ would be such a bad thing, @palides2021 . (Coming from the part of me that absolutely loves nostalgia and history... not the part that also loves my technology!)Based on history repeating itself, I predict that we will be living in a similar world as 100 years ago;
Building a high-speed rail in the US is ridiculously expensive. They had it all planned out for Folsom, CA to Stockton, CA (I think...somewhere down there) and the money was gone after they built a few passenger-loading stations in Folsom, which now has useless loading stations for no train.True, the U.S. is huge! Involuntary microchipping of babies has already been falsely claimed …In the next 20 years, I believe babies will all be microchipped from birth.
The reason will be for safety, but ultimately it will be forced...then the Government will be able to track your every move from cradle to grave. I'm being serious.
Where are you guys getting the idea that China's going to be such a flaming success? Where's that coming from?I predict that everyone will be speaking Chinese.
well when I was 10 they were saying by the time I was an adult.. by the time we got into the year 2000 we'd all be flying around... and here I am 57 years later.. still waiting to hitch a lift through the clouds...They've already been test driving them. So I anticipate the same.
I want mine too, like the Jetsons.still waiting to hitch a lift through the clouds...
Well, at least they're a well run company. I'd be scared if it was Google or Microsoft controlling my life.I seeWalmartAmazon as dominating our lives, even more so than they do now.
We'll all be speaking Amazonian!
So you're saying that Europe has a perfect society?Building a high-speed rail in the US is ridiculously expensive. They had it all planned out for Folsom, CA to Stockton, CA (I think...somewhere down there) and the money was gone after they built a few passenger-loading stations in Folsom, which now has useless loading stations for no train.
The problem was, the greed couldn't wait until after the project was finished. Same thing happens when low-income housing is planned. In Calif, the billions are gone before a shovel touches dirt.
And that's the thing about Socialism; it's the perfect system for a perfect society. But for it to work, you need a perfect society first.
Me too. except of course like 2 of my Mom's sisters who lived to be 101 and 102 yrs old. God forbid!I predict that in 20 years....I'll be dead.
With all the real estate they ALREADY own in the US, including the very large Smithfield pork processing, they don't have a great deal farther to go....Where are you guys getting the idea that China's going to be such a flaming success? Where's that coming from?
Here is the flying car I was talking about:well when I was 10 they were saying by the time I was an adult.. by the time we got into the year 2000 we'd all be flying around... and here I am 57 years later.. still waiting to hitch a lift through the clouds...

yes I've seen those, but to me their not flying cars, they're airplane/helicopters with a cabin shaped like a car..Here is the flying car I was talking about:
