Mama and I have got to be at the bank this morning at 10:00 to care of a couple of things and then we're headed to OKC so she can do some oriental food shopping......as she always does she'll more than likely buy me a big bowl of Pho for being her chauffeur. :)

I don't know what Instacart is.. presuming it's a grocery delivery option... but Here in the UK.. if we order shopping to be delivered from any one of our major supermarkets, it costs only the price of the delivery , which is variable depending on the time of day chosen. For example.. £4.95 for a morning slot.. and £2 for an evening slot..
It is a delivery service Holly. If you join, its delivery charges are less but there is a large fee to join. One time delivery is $9.95 plus tax and tip. The grocery prices are a bit higher too. It sure is nice to have in an emergency.

No fee to join here at our supermarkets... ..you can just go on, make your grocery list, and choose your time slot and pay whatever fee it is to have it delivered..

Oh I hope this aide works out for you! It sounds as if she may be a good match and I know you've been looking for a while. Let us know how it goes! @katlupe And good morning! :coffee:🌷
@katlupe . fingers crossed this Aide works out for you... 🤞
Nope, she called in.........she said she has a fever. If it is gone by Wednesday, she will come then. What are the odds of every single aide I got would call in on their first day? Lost count now.

I've been home for a little while but out in the garden covering my flowers in advance of tonight's freeze. There's this thing called a "planket" that I've cut into pieces, some big, some smaller, to cover whatever, and used some garden stakes to hold them down. The wind is already nasty and blowing about 15mph from the north. Ugh. The plants still get light from the sun so I'm going to just leave them covered until Thursday when the frost/freeze is gone. Hope then it's done for this season.

@katlupe I was going to post and ask about the new aide until I read that she was a no show. Whenever something went wrong, my mother would say it's because I didn't hold my mouth right. Maybe that's the problem? I don't know the right way, though, so can't tell you how! Here's hoping she actually turns up on Wednesday. Heaven knows you are due for a dependable aide who's willing to work and stays forever.

@hollydolly Glad the dentist was able to schedule another appointment so soon. Well...not soon enough when you're in pain! Ouch.

@Pappy Yes. Instacart. Never mind waltzing around in a supermarket!

DGD is all moved now, including her kitty. According to DGD, kitty likes her new home. It helps that there are familiar things around her.

Now that there are no other pets in the house, I'm going to try to leave the door open between my place and DD's so that Maggie can venture out. It's open now, but she hasn't even poked her little kitty nose out into the hall so far. Considering that this little place has been her home for a few years now, it's not surprising that she's hesitant to see what's beyond the door.

DD and I are going to make a Goodwill run this afternoon. Sounds like the stuff to be dropped off yesterday, didn't get dropped off.

DSIL is off today because tomorrow is his new assistant's first day on the job, and heaven knows when he'll get another day off. I want to ask him to help me finish my tax return, but...yanno...when's a day off not a day off? Hint: when your MIL needs help with tax return!

A day off tomorrow. Yay! Then two days of working alone. Not yay :( but we'll do whatever it takes (it takes a lot!).

I washed a load of dark clothes, folded most of them and am taking a break from ironing my stuff as I sit here catching up. Later I will work out, pay bills, nap and generally behave myself.
All of that sounds fine, but what's the part about behaving yourself? Why? When we get old enough, we don't have to behave ourselves except for things like not running around in public in the altogether...jussayin

Very windy outside this morning, but dry, so I went out early before it got any worse. Done the errands I needed, the wind was so strong I nearly got blown along the pavement, good job the chap kept hold of me or I could have gone flying off like Mary Poppins sans umbrella!

Spent quite a bit of time this afternoon drinking coffee and organizing my photos. The thing with digital images is that you end up with so many! Cleared lots of space on my external hard drives so was able to move all the photos off my computer. :)

LOL,
I am getting a little too old to engage in "streaking."
Sometimes it happens by accident @Pecos. A few summers ago, the roof was being repaired so I got up early, had a shower, sauntered into the kitchen wearing nothing but a towel, filled the kettle and switched it on and was getting the cups out when I heard someone say "Good morning". Sitting outside on the scaffold were two workmen! It could have been worse though, I might not have bothered with the towel!😊

I just finished cleaning my bunny's cage and was planning on taking a walk to the dumpster because I probably won't be going outside tomorrow. We have a forecast of 10-26 inches of wet, heavy snow starting this evening. It has been raining and is cold but if it doesn't rain too hard, I can still do this. I hate having the garbage sitting for two days in my kitchen.

My real estate agent left a message. I called her back. That manufactured home I made an offer on, the seller wants to take my offer. I have to talk to my agent more about it and go see it again.

So what am I doing? Sitting here anxious and worried whatever decision I make will be wrong. But I do want to get out of this apartment. The apartment is OK, but the rising rents and the owners have me worried.

@katlupe Is this like in home support services? That's really unreliable.
Yes, it is. Committed Care through Fidelis Care. It is horrible and I had another agency before and the aides were just as bad. My BF has an aide that is really good and does an excellent job but she doesn't work in my area. Some of the others living here have aides that seem to come to work every day. Once you get a good one you have to keep her for life.

That is what you want though isn't it? Just a big decision but maybe it would be the right one. I know the thing about living in apartments is that they are not your property. Sometimes I wish I had my own little house or trailer somewhere but I couldn't do that.
