I've been home for a little while but out in the garden covering my flowers in advance of tonight's freeze. There's this thing called a "planket" that I've cut into pieces, some big, some smaller, to cover whatever, and used some garden stakes to hold them down. The wind is already nasty and blowing about 15mph from the north. Ugh. The plants still get light from the sun so I'm going to just leave them covered until Thursday when the frost/freeze is gone. Hope then it's done for this season.
@katlupe I was going to post and ask about the new aide until I read that she was a no show. Whenever something went wrong, my mother would say it's because I didn't hold my mouth right. Maybe that's the problem? I don't know the right way, though, so can't tell you how! Here's hoping she actually turns up on Wednesday. Heaven knows you are due for a dependable aide who's willing to work and stays forever.
@hollydolly Glad the dentist was able to schedule another appointment so soon. Well...not soon enough when you're in pain! Ouch.
@Pappy Yes. Instacart. Never mind waltzing around in a supermarket!
DGD is all moved now, including her kitty. According to DGD, kitty likes her new home. It helps that there are familiar things around her.
Now that there are no other pets in the house, I'm going to try to leave the door open between my place and DD's so that Maggie can venture out. It's open now, but she hasn't even poked her little kitty nose out into the hall so far. Considering that this little place has been her home for a few years now, it's not surprising that she's hesitant to see what's beyond the door.
DD and I are going to make a Goodwill run this afternoon. Sounds like the stuff to be dropped off yesterday, didn't get dropped off.
DSIL is off today because tomorrow is his new assistant's first day on the job, and heaven knows when he'll get another day off. I want to ask him to help me finish my tax return, but...yanno...when's a day off not a day off? Hint: when your MIL needs help with tax return!
A day off tomorrow. Yay! Then two days of working alone. Not yay

but we'll do whatever it takes (it takes a lot!).
