Now It's 5 Shot Dead in a Louisville, Kentucky Bank.

If you think you can get guns off the street with legislation, you need to take a look at Chicago. Strict gun laws, plenty of gun violence. This is a mental health issue. Plus, We live in a society where so much wrongdoing is overlooked or excused, and where everyone is a victim who deserves reparations. And by the way, God has been forgotten.

I beg to differ from those good folks that say the killer is crazy or some "wackoo." I think that often it's just plain folk that have "blown a fuse." The pressure of our society builds up and up and then there is an explosion! BANG! Now, about those lines we hear all the time over the years that "Our prayers go out to the families" is pure unwashed hog-wash of the smelly kind! It's just some silly line that means absolutely nothing and often spoken by leaders and those folks in power who love guns and what guns can do! Changes need to be done and yet nothing is done. The American Rifle Association is laughing all the way to the local liquor store. The situation is only going to get worse. You can pray and pray "until the cows come home" but nothing will be done until the whole country smartens up and I afraid that in a "dumb and dumber" society, that "ain't" gonna happen for awhile. Rambo rules and the Waltons are a forgotten family.
Plain folk don't kill 5 people Packerjohn. There has to be some kind of underlying mental health issue.

These shooters must be suicidal. They have to know they will be killed so that must be what they want. Apparently they don't know how to deal with whatever triggers them, but what the hell can't you put behind you and move on?

May be an image of 2 people and text that says 'THE MOST DANGEROU ANIMAL THEMOSTDANGEROU ANIMALINTHEWORLD IN THE WORLD KBO 華4 poonke In 1963, the Bronx Zoo had an exhibit called The Most Dangerous Animal in the World It was a mirror.'

I read in one article that the shooter had a series of concussions from playing sports in school. That might have something to do with his going over the edge.

There are some stories that claimed he was either fired or about to be fired, but they didn't give a reason.

So there are two contributing factors that might have pushed him over the edge.

Ah. Still don't want to admit it's the person with the gun; not the gun. :giggle:
See how it works? Sometimes, what you don't say is so loud, it drowns out what you do say.
I've never heard of a shooter going on a shooting spree without a gun, so it's definitely the gun.

Guns can be fired autonomously without a person being involved, so it's definitely the gun.

Get rid of the guns and there will be no more shootings. Obviously, it's the gun.

Such clarity of thought!

Never thought of that before but I suppose it explains how some mothers are shot by their small children in the back seat of a car.
Get rid of the guns and there will be no more shootings. Obviously, it's the gun. Yes, that much is indeed obvious but it is hard to get some people to embrace the obvious.

Our 2nd Amendment to the Constitution guarantees the right of every American to own a gun. The mass murders are simply the cost of the 2nd Amendment. The irony is that the 2nd was passed to enable all slave owners to kill leaders of slave revolts. Haiti was sending in "terrorists" to free our slaves. Remember slave property was guaranteed by our Constitution.

The 2nd is obsolete. AR-15's should be given free to all our people. After thousands die maybe someone will notice that mass murders are simply very bad and we need a new constitutional amendment to revoke the right of everyone to own a gun. When the 2nd was passed we only had flintlock muzzle loaders. No one imagined an AR-15 back in those ancient days.

The only folks who really need a gun are folks in law enforcement and the military.

That posting right above mine shows how tyrants came into being "because" the population had no guns. WRONG,, WRONG, WRONG!! The tyrants also used GUNS to commit their mass murders!

By the way, the Nazis REQUIRED every Nazi Party member to own a gun and be trained in its use. The Communists in Russia and China also REQUIRED all their party members to own a gun and be trained in its use. Nazis and Commies were gun FANS!!

Don't know what you're reading, but
My elderly friends were kids in Nazi Germany
Best NOT have a firearm.....unless you were a Nazi

I lived in mainland China
Nobody......NOBODY......owned a gun

True, dat. The Treaty of Versailles severely limited German civilians' rights to own firearms. Hitler did away with those restrictions for everyone except undesirables. He made it easier for Germans to own guns -- not harder.

I agree. I once saw video footage of a guy in New York plow his vehicle into a bunch of joggers killing some. It's the person. This is a sickness we are not dealing with.

Not my words but they ask a very important question.
"So if the answer to school shootings is armed guards and arming the teachers, what’s the answer to a mass shooting in a bank which already has armed guards?"
As a former teacher, I am interested in the answer, in any answer.

Very true.

Gun violence is a chronic disease in the United States.

◆ The United States is the country with the most civilian-held firearms. With less than 5 percent of the world's population, it accounts for 46 percent of global civilian gun ownership with 120 firearms per 100 people.

Individual ownership of a large number of guns has triggered incessant violence, putting social security in the United States at greater risk. As pointed out by some American scholars, gun-related deaths in the United States in one week may exceed those in the whole Western Europe in one year.

◆A latest study by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) reveals that the United States is in the midst of a massive gun-buying boom that shows no signs of abating. From 2000 to 2020, annual production of firearms in the country almost tripled, with a dramatic increase in the past three years in particular. Since 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic has brought about more social problems.

According to the U.S. National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the United States conducted 21 million background checks for gun purchases in 2020, a 60 percent increase from 2019 and a record high

The Guardian reported in October 2021 that every 16 hours, a woman is fatally shot by her partner in the United States.

◆Recent years have witnessed frequent mass shootings in the United States, causing alarmingly high casualties. According to GVA data, both mass shootings and deaths in the United States have surged about fourfold since 2013.

◆Gun violence also inflicts huge economic losses. According to Brady, an organization that advocates gun control, gun violence costs the U.S. economy at least 229 billion U.S. dollars each year. In May 2022, in the wake of the shooting at the Robb Elementary School in Uvalde County, Texas, over 200 CEOs co-signed a letter urging the U.S. Senate to take immediate actions to address gun violence. In the letter, it was stated that "gun violence costs American taxpayers, employers and communities a staggering 280 billion U.S. dollars per year".

The right to life is the biggest human right. The Declaration of Independence begins with the statement that life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are unalienable rights. One gunshot after another have shattered the American Dream that all men are endowed with the unalienable rights to life and liberty, and lead people to reflect deeply on where and what the American-style human rights really are.

Well .... I'm not a god guy .... But I do agree with rest of your post for sure.

If I may say so, that is a very puerile and unhelpful response.
Perhaps you have a suggestion that might be used to save lives?

That would be the answer everyone is waiting for.
Some are dying to hear it before it is too late.

His answer is exactly correct ..... None of those actions can take place/happen without the person behind the gun.

Therefore it is the person ... not the gun!
