Handyman is coming back for a few days starting later this morning. A couple of minor tweaks from things he did when he was last here, and hoping to take care of a few additional items we added to our check list.

DH manages many home repair jobs but wisely leaves chores beyond his capabilities to professionals. Electrical work, for instance.

Also, I've forbidden him from using any ladder other than the very sturdy stepladder with wide steps that I bought him after he fell off a ladder. (He was sore, but relatively uninjured. I did some research, bought the new ladder and put my foot down about all other ladders and he somewhat grudgingly agreed.)

LOL - I LOVE runny yolks and always ordered scrambled eggs "wet." Since I rarely eat eggs anymore, it's mostly academic though.

If breakfasting with a group, I'd ask that we get a single order of Eggs Benedict to share. Yeah, they're super unhealthy, but if all I have is a bite or two, my arteries will forgive me.

me too I prefer my eggs runny.. .. I do only have them once in while if I'm having breakfast /Brunch at the pub... which of course is much less now.. :sneaky:

Whew, I'm "recovering" from a card party this AM... met with some ladies to play "Hand and Foot" lovely gals, just... um... a bit talkative and (to me, anyway) loud with conversation. I bowed out after two hands. Idk whether it's age or what, but noise gets to me more and more.

I find that too CS .. noise just goes right through me now...

I don’t mind dropping them off, but I would like to give them to an organization that gives the clothes away and not sells them.
Homeless shelters, emergency shelters, and refugee organizations. Also prisons, police stations, and hospitals (clothes for people being released) ...

There might also be free stores or Buy Nothing groups in your area.

I have been chasing a spider most of morning..
It watched me eat my toast and tea which was on a tray on my lap so couldn't move.
It is everywhere I go even the bathroom. I am on the john and there he is crawling under the door.
When I was able to get up off he crawled back out. Ten minutes ago he is sitting behind my monitor. I try to get him with a kleenex but he/it is too fast.
I think he is in love with me. Last year I had similar experience .
Now I am off for some coffee.
Let's see if he wants to keep me company

Our scheduler is an idiot. Not just my opinion. She had people on the schedule who didn't show up and people who showed up for work, not on the schedule. I only work part time but I was wiped out. 0630-2330 is too much for me. On my feet.
what do you do for a living ?.. don't say if you'd rather not..

Last night I left my bedroom window open by mistake. And I wasn't cold! Things are looking up. Now that the weather is better and the days are longer, I get up earlier and have more energy.

I downloaded some tango instruction videos, so I can learn some basic steps. Yes, by myself. I'll start today.

Aside from that, go over the book club reading again, and prepare some discussion questions.

Do my exercises.

I thought sugar didn't bother my digestion, but yesterday I proved myself wrong. If I have time, I might go to the store and buy more Zevia.

I guess that's enough for one day!

Hoping you're paid double or triple time for working so many hours in a row. That's craziness.

"Hand and Foot card game is a game related to Canasta. In Hand and Foot, players are dealt two sets of cards: the hand, which is played with first, and the foot, which is then played after."

Oh I used to play a lot of canasta!
Rose, if you know how to play canasta, it'd take you about 2 minutes to learn how to play hand and foot. It's a fun game.
That said, I rarely play card games anymore, although I'm quite good at them. Same with pickleball, bocci ball, etc. I only play with my kids, grands and DH.

We play for the enjoyment of the game, not for a thrill of winning. So many seniors are ridiculously competitive. "What's the score?" is the common refrain, and they're ruthless in their pursuit of winning. No thanks. I left my competitive streak behind in my late twenties and haven't missed it a bit.

I'm home and tired and it's not very warm and the wind is blowing:mad:. It's not as bad as yesterday, but it feels as cold as it did yesterday. I'm gonna sit on the patio with my coffee, fill the bird feeder, and come back inside.

The garden can wait. I mean, yanno? It made me wait all winter!

Geez. Gossip at work...what's going on depends on how many people repeated it before it got to me. Sir didn't have life support turned off Friday. He got sick Friday so the life support turn off was postponed. He's out of the hospital and ok so today he goes back to have the life support turned off. That's the first version, which I heard from his best work friend, who got it directly from Sir. I'm going with this one.

Another version is that he got sick at work on Thursday and left early. On Friday he may or may not have had life support turned off and was overwhelmed and admitted to the hospital.

Yet another version is that he got sick and was admitted to the hospital on Thursday, is out now, and having his mother moved to a nursing home today.

WTH?

ETA: And furthermore, it was too darned cold to drink coffee on the patio so I came back in. The bird feeder still hasn't been filled. Maybe later. It's not like they'll starve because the next door neighbor has two feeders out.

Besides that, I'm not feeling all tickety-boo and want need a nap.

Wish I was a rock sitting on a hill
Doing nothing all day long, just sitting still
I wouldn't eat, I wouldn't sleep, I wouldn't even wash
Just sit still a thousand years, rest myself by gosh

Well as usual today I am looking for my brain. I had a brain when I woke up but then in the blink of an eye, it was gone. Let me tell you what happened. My husband went out to do some lawn work. My phone rang and it was my hubby calling me. I looked for the phone and couldn't find it. Then my daughter called me. This went on and on. Finally, my hubby came inside. I saw the phone in his pocket. I wondered why he didn't know he had it in his pocket all the time. He looked shocked and said he never heard it ring. Yes, he has a hearing problem. He is soo vain though he won't wear his hearing aid in his ear.

It rained here all day, so I did what you do on a typical rainy day. I cleaned out my closets. I never realized I had so many clothes. I have 4 walk-in closets and they were all full. I now gave 2 completely empty. A lot of the stuff is still in its original packaging. I’m not sure what to do with it. Do I call someone? I don’t want to just sit it out at one of those collection boxes.
Do you drive? Take to a thrift store. Especially if you have a local one in your area (not a chain like Salvation Army or Goodwill if possible) People looking to save money on clothes. They will even sell new looking underwear and socks.
