Old Salt, just went thru a bladder cancer tumor operation...it was not bad at all, just some aggraavation in the post op waiting to go home...no probs since then...3 months....hang in there......
The surgeon told me that he would normally remove the bladder but didn't dare to do so at my age! I am 87 years old! My feeling? I have lived much longer than I ever expected so I am prepared for my demise! Not looking forward to it, but quietly resigned!

well I'm going to say Goodbye to you now...not because I expect you to go for a while yet.. but in case you suddenly get poorly , and I've not had a chance to say Goodbye.. and I'll see you where the Good Lord welcomes you...😇🌈

So now, if you go before I do I can be comforted knowing I've said my farewells.. 🤗🤗

..now back to the business of living..🥰

Sitting and trying to digest what my surgeon just told me: I have bladder cancer! I chose regular checks (and treatment) to ensure I stay reasonably comfortable over radiation treatment which might prolong my life a bit. Please, don't feel sorry or treat me differently in any way! We all have to go and I am prepared for it! Just sharing with some who have become friends in my mind!
just a question OS ... did he give you a prognosis.. ? a time ?

think you made the right choice at your age. The people that I have known that had chemo or radiation didn’t live long and were sick the whole time. Enjoy what time you have left. Sending hugs.

First of all, thanks for that wonderful send off, hollydolly! Saying good-bye now makes sense even though I intend to keep swamping this forum with posts for a while longer. And, no, no prognosis and I didn't ask for a time. The way I look at it, my life has been stage four since I hit my eighties and every day is a precious gift. And having faith in "The Great Spirit" who touched my soul years ago helps as well! I have been a most unorthodox Christian who would have been burned as a heretic in times past, but I believe in love and forgiveness, so all is good!

the sauce is just butter and egg yolks
My roaming fingers randomly and completely mistakenly,
went across to the words: London, England, for the first time ever, with this post of yours, Holly.

And to my total surprise, I was transferred by internet to maps of London, and skyline photos of the city.....gosh!

I never knew that we could click on anyone's location as they gave it, and would instantly get that, if we purposefully were curious, where in the world was, for example, Montezuma.😳🤨o_O:giggle::LOL:

I thought that others might like to know about that too, unless everyone else besides me, has already always known that.:unsure:☺️

I think I might try it, for fun, on @Jules "Beautiful BC"
😁

I didn't know that either. Helpful. :)

@Old Salt let me chime in on your news. I think I understand how you feel about the diagnosis. Every day now is a gift, but if I go anytime soon, that'll be fine because I've lived a long and good life.

I picked up various twigs and small branches that the wind has blown off the trees and killed some weeds. While I was out, I also filled the bird baths and the bird feeder. The birds🐦🦅 are already back:)

Squirrels. Grrr. I don't like the blankety-blank squirrels. A couple of weeks ago, they tried to chew through the bin where the bird seed is kept  . They didn't get in but did manage to chew through and make a small hole that I fixed with gorilla tape. Since then they've left it alone.

I noticed today that they've been at it again. They couldn't chew through the gorilla tape so just moved over and started in another spot. Fixed that with gorilla tape and sprayed the entire bin with Critter Ridder. I hope it works or I might have to sit up around the clock with a BB gun and shoot the little b@stards one by one!

Have I mentioned how much I despise wind?🌬️ Just in case I haven't mentioned it before, I despise wind.

After more than a week of waiting for him, my plumber arrived this morning and set about repairing the valve in my main shower. It turned out to be an easier job than either of us expected. Yay!! I no longer have to use the tub shower in the small lav.

There is a real shortage of plumbers in my area and my guy said he has taken on four apprentices so far this year and none of them worked out.

Me too.. and I mean that... !! I hate the wind more than any other type of weather..

Gigi.. all this talk of leaving from you anicent mariners..lol.... Gigi.. do us a huge favour... just in case you go before us.. can you ask a family member to at least let us know. They don't have to have a conversation with us.. if they don't want.. but just a post to let us know, because it's horrible when someone stops posting suddenly and we have no idea what's happened.. ...now having said that, don't they say only the good die young ? :sneaky::LOL::love:

What’s all this hate for wind. I actually usually love it. The only time I didn’t was when I lived in Wichita Kansas and it was incredibly windy every day. You couldn’t sit outside and read a newspaper and your hair would stand on end. If you went outside and it wasn’t windy you couldn’t believe it.

I can't breathe in the wind...

I got my Hedges cut.. the call arrived about 4.30pm.. and we hopefully got things all sorted... long call.. and the person I spoke to evidentally doesn't like her colleague ( who I dealt with last week) because she advised me to make an offical complaint about him.. lol.. anyway..got that done and then I still had time to run out and get the hedges cut and the front lawn mowed.. so I'm pleased about that.because the grass . Means I can go out tomorrow and not worry about the rain that's forecast for tomorrow evening

Sorry to hear you're dealing with such a sudden and difficult diagnosis @Old Salt . Can't imagine what it's like to have to suddenly process something like that. You seem to have a very mature attitude toward things and I commend you for that. Wishing you the very best care and outcome!

I'm panicking right now. After soaking in the tub I came into the living room and turned on the tv. There was an announcement that there was a shooting in Georgia. I have 2 nephews and a niece and their families living in Atlanta. I called them and got no answer from any of them. I left all of them messages on their phones and panicking until I hear from any of them.

Don't let me startle you, @Old Salt , but I'm going to squeeze you in a big ol' hug now. 🫂 I'm sorry for this new thing you're dealing with, and I hope you have a strong support system. If not, we're here when you need to talk.
Thanks for the hug, CMK, I love hugs ... giving and receiving! And I have a strong support system with my older daughter living practically next door, spoiling me rotten! And you may have noticed ... I always need to talk! 😄
