Another AR-15 style rifle mass murder

when individuals or groups become "paralyzed" they are then beyond reasonable rational thoughts? - they live on fantasies; delusions and whatever is in their hands
Don't think many of them were capable of a rational thought before the fear took them over completely. They're just pawns in the culture war and the business of selling guns.

I haven't followed this thread all the way through, but did anyone ever mention that your forefathers were thinking about single shot rifles that were quite inaccurate and took a minute to reload? They could not have foreseen assault rifles or even a modern revolver or pistol!

Well we did let an assault weapons ban expire in 2004 so it was possible for regulations to be enacted and enforced.

I just ordered a Sig Sauer P320 with a Trijicon RMR red dot sight. It will come mounted and aligned. This pistol will do as much damage as an AR-15 or any other AR. It does not come with a high capacity magazine. The reason I had to order it was because the gun shop where I deal can’t keep them in stock. Together with my Sig Sauer P365, I’m ready for WWIII.

I just ordered a Black Metal Hyper Tough 3000PSI Power Nozzel.

I'm going to attach it to my hose and power wash my driveway!

Believe what you want to believe, I have shot both and I’ll take the Sig Sauer 516 into combat over the AR-15. I would prefer the M400 Tread. I don’t have a need to spread someone’s guts all over the landscape, I just want to be able to load and go. If you have never shot the 516, you should at least try it.
The SIG 516 versus the AR-15 for all practical purposes is a distinction without a difference. IMHO both are clearly military and should be highly illegal in the hands of a civilian.

BTW During the Vietnam fiasco I spent 5 years in the Navy. For 6 months during those years I ran a brig staffed with Marine guards. Interesting job and I liked those Marines.

So if a civilian met all the criteria, passed all the background checks and such with a crime free life should they be denied possession? We shoot them in 2-3 gun matches bi monthly and have for years even the NFA SBR's. Which require a 5 agency background check which I feel sure you are aware of. The SIG mentioned and AR15 neither are real military issue due to the select fire omitted on the civilian version. Are you sir aware of what the AR designation stands for on Mr Stoner's rifle he invented?

So many many topics and items in this thread...... find it funny talk of westerns or old west mentality................. when many Young out shooting are FAR more likely to be influenced by violent video games or glamorized in movies and even thug type worship.

In games hit Reset .......all players etc back up and running no problem ......... movies even when the lead character is shot we see them self bandaging and continuing on..... most movies/ games have the victims shot several times before even going down ........
Real life is a lot different .......

Next point.... laws and rules and everything require ENFORCEMENT ...... we do not do a good job with background checks and items in place NOW..... writing more laws does not help only make it more cumbersome and hard on legal responsible owners....

Mental health is the biggest component: a few items to think about .......

1 barring guns all with previous mental health issues says to me a majority believe this is an INCURABLE illness.
people who seek treatment and work things out will still be singled out..... people already do not seek help from the stigma

2. mental illness can happen at anytime ..... yes people can snap ...... do we know how to ID these folks prior .... perhaps psychics ?
Nope we want red flags laws if you see something say something ..... which is NOT effective or followed through. .............

3. Guns can be stolen and gotten by illegal means .......
infamous case of Sandy Hook ...... the mother of shooter ( who was murdered too) had guns....... with the full knowledge of her sons mental health problems ........ this was a serious error on HER part IMO ...... but this one is always brought up in gun control when Seldom do people talk of his well document mental illness and his mom's choice to keep firm arms.
why did they not sue her estate for damages ?

The SIG and AR are both military style weapons clearly designed to kill humans, not deer or ducks. Were it up to me, sale to, or possession by civilians, of military weapons should be illegal, period.

What countries military issues AR15's to their troops?
"What countries use AR-15?

It was first developed in the United States and adopted by the U.S. military in 1959 as the M16, which remains one of its most popular variants today. Other countries that have issued this weapon to their militaries include Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Israel and South Korea among others."

He's getting ready to point out the distinction btwn full auto and semi-auto which is what AR style weapons are in an effort to discredit the value of your opinion and the opinion of others not fully indoctrinated into gun culture. It's a stupid game, that ends in a rabbit hole somewhere.

Yeah so what's the point? Things are good as they stand?

Yeah so what's the point? Things are good as they stand?

I did not say that ...........................I said that MANY items already on the books........ are not being enforced how is adding MORE going to change that? NOt just this issue either .

Research it ......the different backlog in some areas to update a database used ..... backlog in some cases a year.....
forms are filled out and people check boxes and they assume it is what "under the penalty of perjury this is correct " ..........

A man in my area served 3 years for perjury............ cause he lied on forms and his child took his gun and killed i believe 6 including himself at a high school... filled out forms after a protection order was ordered but they never checked he said he had no issues ....
The Correct box was checked....so clerk passed it through.

address the issues of mental health situation .....
ever notice how in hours after an incident social media posts are revealed saying they were doing this or that ...... individuals come out of wood work saying yeah they were crazy etc...... seems like someone could have spoken up before instead of looking for 10 minutes of fame after the fact.

I do know what the AR stands for but let me make you aware that I have never shot competition. My love for guns came from serving in the military and being awe-struck by the power each weapon can produce.

I do fear that if we keep having mass killings and the AR-15 is at the forefront of the weapon being used, there will be no choice, but to limit the numbers produced, sold or whatever, but there will be restrictions placed on us who use their weapons as sport. This is why those of us who are truly interested in saving the big guns, we need to come up with gun control laws that will counter these morons that just want to go around blasting people spreading guts and brains around the countryside.

DELLA, I've thought of picking up one of those. Do I have to have an NRA membership, background check, and waiting period?
Can I "open carry" it - - -after disconnecting the hose of course ? I'd like to join other "open carry" morons and appear on the street as a "bad-a$$".

Look alikes are all they are, also the lightest powered, shooting a .224 diameter projectile. Also not a shotgun so not used in waterfowl hunting and some states do not allow .22 cal used for deer hunting. If you can afford it and pass the checks, plus waiting close to a year to take possession you can get the real thing. So after living a crime free life and passing all the required checks should not even be considered?

I personally hate guns, and have never owned one. I have no reason to own one. I have relatives who do own guns. But they use them for hunting legally in season only. Assault weapons are meant to hunt one species only: humans. Yet there is one political party that does not care how many Americans are murdered. Only thing is important is to be against an assault weapon ban, so you'll make certain people happy and help you get re-elected. I am so disgusted with some of my fellow Americans. Fortunately, no one in my family has ever been the victim of gun violence. Sadly, so many other American families cannot make that claim.
AR-15 is named ARMALite. Its like the sports car of guns.
The problem is not the gun, but the lack of mental health in our country.
Anyone with mental health issues that want to hurt someone will use any gun, knife, pistol, rifle, auto, etc.
Its funny, some people think outlawing AR-15's will stop criminals. It won't. The black market will thrive.
I doubt a mentally ill person will look up the laws when looking to commit killing crimes.
Making guns illegal is how one political party will achieve their goals of changing society.
Just remember, guns save lives as well.

Guns are the fabric of the American life.
Always have been and always will be. Its not about hunting but being prepared.
Look at countries that make guns illegal. Societies turn into suppressed societies. Not able to protect themselves from their government.
If guns were illegal in the US, there would be 10's of millions of criminals in the country and it would collapse. People would not give up their guns willingly. There isn't enough jails to hold all the 'law abiding' citizens.

Easy for you to say sitting in the midst of the states w the tightest gun laws and lowest chance of being affected by gun violence. Enjoy your safe space.
