On my early walk this morning at 6:30 temp was 54 as I went to buy local paper. When I came back watered the plants/ flowers in our community garden. As I was walking towards our back door saw ,I stopped because 'thumper/thumperina' was looking at me waited until he/she moved
I'll be walking this morning to my church for our 10:30 service, my niece/god daughter, Katie will be joining me. She&hubby,Zach drove from NYC yesterday{they leave Mon},staying with his parents in Williamsville{suburb of Buffalo} . Zach will pick us up after worship, come back to my apt, walk 2 blocks to Panera's for lunch.
The last time they were here was 2 yrs ago, weather was cloudy, today its absolutely beautiful.,temps near 80 I'll take them up to the roof{9th floor} community patio,to see great view of the city from there
I can't wait to see them, this will be the highlight of my weekend
Hope you have a super day, Sue... (y)

I've finished the lawns , and swept up the leaves, everything is looking beautiful once more.. but altho' the forecast says it's 73 degrees, I tell you it feels much hotter than that. I was glad to come in .. and I love the sun...:D🌞🌼..I need to uncover the bird bath, and get that filled.. I probably won't do that today, but you never know..

I'm too hot to make lunch... however tonight I think I'll have some kind of noodle dish...

Just been washing the cooker hood filters....that's another job done... I'm going to stop now .. because my back is really beginning to protest..3 days in a row of quite strenuous physical activity is too much for it..

Out of interest... how much is a ticket for a county show in any of your states ?... It was £25 today... that's just admission only.. all food and drink is hugely expensive.. for example, a sugar and Lemon crepe was £11.50...
LA County Fair is huge and charges $25. A smaller, closer county fair is $10 for seniors and has more than enough to keep my interest for 2-3 hours. By that time I've had enough fair activity to last a year.

Yes, food and everything else is expensive but it's part of the fun.

Watching the Indy 500. I grew up in Indy and with the right atmospheric conditions, you could hear the cars from my house.

We attended the race several times. The whole month of May was exciting.

The best year was when my mother was a secretary for one of the managers and we had tickets and passes for all the events. Mom and Dad went to the Victory Banquet and sat next to Graham Hill, who told my dad a naughty joke.

I kinda doubt that our local County fair is anywhere nearly as big as your LA one...

Probably so. That's why we go to the much smaller one in an adjacent county.
yes but as you can see..ours is waay more expensive..

I sat down to watch some tv after I had dinner, and dropped off , only to be woken by the doorbell ringing. Totally disorientated I opened the door to find my neighbour distraught that her cat was missing and might have got into my garden..I wasn't awake enough to ask what was the panic, but she'd brought a lead with her and she was muttering about having several others who never leave the house.

I let her into the garden, and she found the cat.. got the lead on it.. and was gone before I really realised what was going on..lol

You'd never guess what mischief I got into today......
I pulled out my bicycle, for the first time in many, many years, and I road up and down the driveway. I was very wobbly, but I had fun! I'm pretty sure that Dio had 911 ready on speed dial! 😁

That’s so cute and sounds very fun.
I had a lovely walk today. The sun is shining and my spirits lifting. We can’t underestimate the joy of a beautiful day. ❤️

Other than usual cleaning chores.
Got the cases for my sewing machines out…..cleaned them all…..and packed them in their cases.
Collected things around the house for laundry, will pack these things up after they’re done, I won’t need them before my move day.
Going over my check list….marking things off as they’re done.

Yesterday, mowed the back yard.

Just got out of bed. The yard fairy (my son) was here as I slept and did the yard. It looks beautiful!! He edged, trimmed all the hedges, cleaned the patio and got all of the ivy off the fence. I am grateful for all his hard work. I just hate that I am usually asleep while he is here. Have not been able to have a good catch up in awhile.

Don't know what I will do today other than a good sweep and vacuum of the floors. Hope you all have a wonderful day.

A heartfelt thank you to all of you who have served our great country and special blessings to those who have passed but live forever in out hearts.

Red flag at the race. A bad crash and a tire went flying over the fence but missed he stands. I remember one year back in the late 50s or 60s when a tire sailed completely over the stands and killed a man walking down Georgetown Road, completely off the race grounds.

My greatly-esteemed junior high principal was killed at the race when I was in the 8th grade. He was a volunteer fireman and was jumping on the back of the pickup firetruck when it backed up and ran over his chest. It was a devastating loss to us.

I need to ask Mr. Google what purpose weeds serve. I wish the darned things would pull themselves:mad:

I planted some zinnias. Because I need more flowers, right? Not to worry. I didn't spend any money; these are bedding plants that I bought last week.

It's been a tough week in the garden(s), and that's where I've spent most of my free time when it's light out. Most. Y'all do know that I have to go to bed before the sun goes down...and get up in the dark. Poor pitiful me😢

DD turns 59 tomorrow. She said that next year she won't be 60. She's going to celebrate the 30th anniversary of her 30th birthday.

@katlupe Whatever happened with the latest home helper? Did she at least show up?

Our dance troupe used to put on a recital at the LA County fair one time a year… that was our “big” performance that we worked toward for months. Then it was around to see the sites, mainly to see if my mom or aunt had won any ribbons in the arts and crafts pavilion

She did and will be back on June 7th. Hopefully she will work out.

funny you should mention that because it brought back memories of my daughter who was a gold medallist Majorette.. and her troupe when they were under 10 years old doing their baton twirling at every street carnival. The drawback of it all was that we as parents had to listen to the same practice song day in day out for months beforehand.. :ROFLMAO:

Today at every carnival or county show it's Rock choirs... like this one yesterday

They were singing a song from the film Notting Hill Charles Aznavour's She)

behind me taking the pic was about 300 hundred people sitting on the grass..loving the singing..

I tried out my brother-in-law's electric bike a few years ago and felt very uncomfortable with balancing it as it was very heavy. I was wary about having to stop and brace it when I put my foot down; also nervous making sharp turns. Of course, they probably make lighter ones now. They must because my tiny little 100-pound sister rides one. I fall harder, though....LOL.

Have you thought of a three wheeled adult bike, jujube…..there are many that have them here.
