how did you fall ?.. were you inside the greenhouse and trip, or outside ? thank goodness you're ok, that could have been very nasty
i was inside the green house watering turned and i felt something brush against my leg ,it made me jump , I lost balance , and put my arms out and went through the side pane of glass , I feel really lucky I didnt sever an artery in my wrist .

There's a vast amount of rapeseed being grown here this year. It's not only rapeseed, but vast acres of barley and wheat. Land that was fallow for years has been ploughed and planted, so I recon there must a good demand for grain.
Once on my travels, I was chatting to a farmer who told of the ridiculous situation regarding rapeseed. Apparently they were given government subsidies for growing it, but the value was so low that they would plant rapeseed, claim the subsidy and then just plough in the crop. It was cheaper than harvesting it.
these fields around here have been growing this mustard and rapeseed for as long as I can remember .

Lots of wheat and Barley but not here, but over in the fields a couple of villages away.. along with Corn...

Morning folks.....a bright sunny day here, however I slept
rather poorly for some reason, kept hearing critters outside
2 or 4 legged don't know....anyhoo no biggie plans yet...altho
I see that those danged dish fairies took the nite off, durn 'em....
and gonna see about returning this chromebook I got off amazon, too old to try and learn a new system...will get a windows laptop instead....scouts are out putting up flags across
the street......make it a great day folks!!!
@hawkdon I have had several Chromebooks, they are great for the internet. What problems are you having?

Absolutely!!!! We have several pairs of Summer Tanager's that have moved in. I hear them singing and chirping all day....it's great for the soul!
I tried to read all or most posts, from back where I left off, last Thursday,
but there were too many for that, and I had to give up on that plan, for this moment.

I then skipped forward, and took a quick glance at this page, and saw this post.🐦

I loved tanagers. Haven't seen one in years, now.
I also loved seeing baltimore orioles. Haven't seen those in years, either.
Last year I did see lots of Eastern Bluebirds (pairs and even families with young!)
and I did see lots of hummingbirds.....but neither have shown up recently.

The thought of them, and the reminder post of Trila's,
lifted my spirits.
Wild bird sightings, from my window, can do that for me, too.
Am Not living in a wild area, which would make it more common for me, but some do come anyway.

Was out at 8 this morning, mowing my front lawn….there was no dew this morning, so the grass was bone dry, and forecast was for rain late morning…..which it did about 11:30…..so I’m glad I got it done.

After I came in, and did the morning cleaning chores, and contacted my internet and cable tv provider, to disconnect on June 19, and to reconnect on June 20 at my new place……they would have reconnected on the 19th as well…..but…..that is moving day…..too much hassle for that day.
I take all my receiver boxes with me for the new place……there won’t be any charges.

My check list is getting shorter. 😊.

About repotting plants, especially in big containers: cut up pieces of styrofoam or use those styrofoam worms if you have either one or put empty plastic bottles in the pot first, then put the potting soil in. That way, even if the container is heavy and cumbersome, at least you won't get a hernia trying to move it.

DD's birthday lunch was way too good, and I ate way too much. Won't need another meal until at least a week from Wednesday. I brought half of it home to have for lunch tomorrow. Now...if I hadn't been munching on queso and guacamole and chips...😋😋😋

where were you this morning with this nugget of info..huh ?...:cautious:

@Jules
The post you'd written included a very helpful perspective; it came back to my mind, numerous times since I read it, earlier, today. Thank you for that.

" Kaila; Nighttime seems to really speed up our overly active brains. Things that can’t be resolved seem to go around in circles. ...hugs"

@Georgiagranny
That's a very good tip about filling the bottom of those common, giant containers for plants, with a lighter weight material.

We're not able to do planting this year, with DH's serious medical situation; but thankfully I'd had him gradually put in more bulbs and perennials in recent years, so that we do have some interesting plants growing, in our beds outside our window.

I am thankful we both have them, to watch. Peonies getting ready to burst open, and the irises he's been nursing for years, in wonderful bloom.

Thanks for the Styrofoam advice, GG! It will come in handy if I get another houseplant. I'm thinking about a taller one.

I only got a couple of hours of sleep after "bedtime", which is who knows what time anymore! But I wanted to make sure I was ready for my honorary daughter when she picked me up to go to the movies. So in the middle of the night, I showered, put out my clothes, packed my snacks (I never buy those expensive movie theater snacks) and changed purses. She picked me up at 8:40 a.m. so we could make the first showing of The Little Mermaid at 9:00. By doing so we avoided crowds of kiddies. It was the first time I've seen a movie in the theater since 2019. We sat in the car a talked awhile after she brought me home.

Once inside, I was still in chill mode, watched T.V. and played my games. My son was off today and when he got in from the mosque, we talked for a bit. Then I napped for a couple of hours.

Dio took this picture of a scissor tailed fly catcher. We also have King birds, American Woodcocks, Bob white, meadow larks, hummingbirds, Indigo buntings, and so very many more. Hawks, Bald Eagles, night hawks....the list goes on and on.

I love watching the birds and listening to them sing!!!! 😁. I'm glad I could add some joy to your day! BTW: I'm really, really behind on reading posts, too. I usually just start at the top of the current page.

Tuesday is Tai Chi in the morning - 10am - 11:45am

This afternoon I'm meeting some people to sort out the finer details of a Beginners Photography group I'm setting up for the U3A (University of the 3rd Age) - which is more complicated than I thought it would be. GDPR rules, Risk Assessments, Accident reports - all the rubbish I thought I'd left behind when I retired lol.

For those not familiar with U3A here's our local page...

@-Oy-

Quite an extensive list of group activities. If I lived there, I would definitely join!
