What are you doing today 2023

I drove my mobility chair to the store and got more bunny food and picked up a few groceries for my son. Now I have laundry in the washing machine downstairs. Drying it in my shower. I hate using the dryers because they smell so toxic from dryer sheets. I am thinking of wearing a mask every time I go in the laundry room. Makes me so sick........don't laugh, but it makes my tongue feel numb and gives me a headache.

Good morning, boys and girls. Are we all in our places with bright, shining faces?

Today is laundry, dig up a dead rose bush, deadhead flowers, spread more mulch. And stuff. There's lots of stuff.
You have more energy than I. I broke my right arm in late February and now have just a splint. Sometimes I would check to see what everyone is up to, but typing was difficult.

This weekend with the help of others I tried a little entertaining. The weather was perfect and friends took turns manning the grill. I needed that!

@Alizerine It actually has nothing to do with energy. It's because the garden is planted in mostly perennials, and they require more care than I ever dreamed of, dammit. Had I known then what I know now!

Energy is what kicks in when I'm at work...because there's so much to do and so little time to get it done. That's when I'm energized. It has to do with payday. LOL

Glad you enjoyed your cookout. DSIL is probably the only man on the planet who doesn't like to grill. Anything. The grill finally rusted out and was trashed. He never managed to get around to getting another one so that's his excuse for not grilling. Summertime holidays weekends require grilling!

My grill had rusted as well. I drove 25 miles to get one in time for the weekend. The following day I stopped at Walmart for something. They had about 50 of the exact same grill in stock. At least I'm covered.

Good to know I'm not the only one who isn't grilling.

Was bit hectic for awhile,, Mac slipped out when Hubby opened the front door.

Headed for the first woodchuck hole,, thought I had him coming to me,, when he circled the barn, heading for the next ones.

Went to get the dog whistle,,?? must have left it in something ,,

Hubby got out the ATV,,'He'll come to this".

He didn't come.
Hubby didn't know where the dog likes to terrorize the woodchucks.
He's driving around looking for Mac.

I get a leash, walk over to the wood pile,, yup,, there's the dog.
Get his leash on,, try to get hubby's attention which didn't work ,as he drove. down the street.

Back to getting lunch ready .
Hubby comes in,,his ATV shut down about quarter mile. from home.
He had to walk home in the heat.

After lunch we took another ATV to pull the other one home.

Our Hummingbird Chicks are growing, and the nest is getting too small. But in one week they are expected to fly away anyway. Mom doesn't live here anymore but comes frequently to feed the chicks.
We also have hawks and other birds nesting in our trees. One time I found a Mockingbird fledgling that had fallen out of its nest. We fed it with mealy worms for a week till it could fly away, but not till it had disgustingly pooped on my wife's hair.

Me too. I can’t walk down the laundry aisle.
I don't understand why laundry detergents and softeners are perfumed or have color added. Shouldn't clean laundry have no scent whatsoever, with clean being the absence of any odor?

I use Costco's Kirkland Free and Clear hypo allergenic laundry detergent. No perfumes, no dyes. Gets everything clean.

Sometimes people walk past me and the laundry scent wafting from them is so strong that I start sneezing. Presumably they've become so accustomed to that smell that they've become nose-blind.

Had a doctor appointment early-ish this morning, gassed up the car ($4.49/gallon - a serious bargain!), came home and placed a business order. Was glad to have cleaned the house Sunday and mopped the floors yesterday so today is relatively relaxed.

Tomorrow you-know-who will be here bright and early. ❤️ Being so close to the floor he sees EVERYTHING and is still in the phase where it immediately goes in his mouth so clean floors and empty lower shelves are a must.

On my early walk this morning at 6:30 to buy NYT temp was 64, came back to water plants/flowers in community garden
After leaving here, on 'spur of the moment' I decided to get my long walk in before the temp was too hot/ humid. I walked to/from Walgreens{6 blocks}. I bought a couple of items was home within an hr
I didn't do much for the rest of the day. After lunch I did started to walk around the apt complex, luckily there was a breeze so it didn't feel that hot{mid 80's} I went around 1 time started talking with my 'road trip' friend Mary in the garden, sat there for 20 min, came back to my apt with my Vornado fans in my living rm &bedrm keeping the rooms cool. I don't like AC,this is the next best thing

The rest of the country is warm and we're having cool temps. 66° for a high today and that's assuming we get there. Not complaining - from July through October I'll be begging for cool days.

Glad you were able to get some walks in, Sue, and that you've got fans to keep your place comfortable. ♥

That's a problem in my building, too.
And for me, as well, Katlupe.

(editing to add; that I now saw that @Jules added agreement to that subject, too. So even tho it sometimes feels like just me, or just you, Kat, it isn't!)

I suffer from Multiple Chemical Sensitivities. It is a real problem because I can use a product for years and then one day it affects me. Recently it was PineSol. It did surprise me that it never bothered me before. I run two air purifiers in my apartment and they help.

Made 30 bran muffins this morning. This was going to happen on the weekend, until I realized I didn’t have any wheat bran. People must not make bran muffins from scratch much now. Trips to two different stores and they didn’t have any either. Got some yesterday and baked them in spite of it heating up the house. I did turn the fan on. If a jet were taking off in the house, it wouldn’t sound as loud as this one. I should have had it replaced years ago.

Yesterday I took some new and almost new shoes to a consignment store. They likely won’t sell unless someone with tiny feet spots them. Did a bit of running around to pick up odds and ends. Donated to food bank and thrift store. Will walk tonight when it’s cooler. That is so strange to say in May.

hahaha.. at the moment we're getting between 65 and 70 deg temps.. and it feels HOT..... but thankfully not like last year...yet, and I hope it never gets that hot again.. . I've always been able to enjoyed hot temps, but lately the last couple of years I don't like it... 70 deg is as hot as I want it to be..

I went to the supermarket for a few things this morning and put the groceries away. My son went to the larger one on the highway after work to get items I can't get at our local supermarket. I have to put those things away. I spoke with my BFF twice today and with another friend. Then the usual, napped and played games. Tonight I re-sorted my dark clothes because I intend to do laundry in "the middle of the night". I also have to load the dishwasher and do some accounting.

We went to a Mediterranean kinda fast-food restaurant called Cava for lunch, then we went to the Dallas Arboretum. Our Spring came very early here so everything was lush and colorful. This was probably the last day we could go until September due to the increasing heat.
