'Bout 2800 miles, @hollydolly... basically in the top left corner of the contiguous states and I'm in the bottom right corner, LOL. I will stay for a week with friends =)
Yes, I was thinking when I saw it; that's a very long trip.
Are there usual stops along the way, on that route from you to the other corner of USA, and back? Denver?

Where do the plane routes cross over the Rocky Mountains? Will you see them from the plane?
Do they go around the bulk of them, either North or South?
Are there other amazing things to see from the sky, on that route?

Air quality still bad, staying home with Buffy, windows closed, A/C if we need it. Will offer her food soon, she still eats & drinks & goes to litter box to pee. Last night, thought I heard her wheezing, so turned off TV, even held my breath so I could hear her, only it wasn't her, it was me!
I thought of you yesterday, regarding that awful air, Pepper. Take good care.
Also I continue to often think of Buffy, and the wonderful bond between her and you.

it's 7pm now.... It's such a beautiful day today I couldn't stay home, so at 3pm I drove to North London for shopping... I wouldn't usually leave it 'till that late because the rush hour traffic starts then, and every arterial road through our little town and bypassing it gets bottle necked .. anyway I did go.. and when I got to my destination, I went to the pub first to have a cold coke..

..now this was a hard thing for me to do.. because this particular pub is one that Soon2Bex and I used whenever the sun shone.. and we were there just the day before I discovered what he'd been doing and he ultimately left ..so it was something I had to do, but it took me a few deep breaths to do it... but I refuse to lose my life because of what he did..

anyway enough doom and gloom... I got a new top from M&S pale blue linen with 3/4 sleeves

...bought a bunch of groceries there too.. I love their Cheese scones.. so I buy them in packs of 4 and freeze them.. got some smoked trout fillets, and some smoked salmon and salmon mousse... the rest in Tesco... so hot out there today, much hotter than the weather report..

Got home and my wireless Mac keyboard wouldn't work. It runs on batteries, and I changed the batteries yesterday , and so I changed them again for different ones thinking these new ones might be duff.. but nope it wasn't having it.. so I've had to find a wired keyboard and connect it ( first time I've done this so I was chuffed with myself )... but I can't figure out why the wireless one isn't working. if anyone reading this has an idea, can you let me know please?

@Kaila …. I have one stop-over in Charlotte, NC, then straight to Seattle. Most of the connecting flights come through either Charlotte or Dallas

as to where we cross the Rockies and if I can see them, you’ll have to stay tune 🙂

I’m so very sorry for your loss. My heart and thoughts are with you during this very hard time.
There’s no rush for healing, take your time, remember all the good you shared and still will through memories.
It's comforting when a stranger takes the time to offer words of condolence, I do so appreciate it, thank you. For anyone else enduring the crushing pain of bereavement, you may have heard of The Funeral Poem, it was read out at the funeral that we attended.

She Is Gone (He Is Gone)

You can shed tears that she is gone
Or you can smile because she has lived

You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back
Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left

Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her
Or you can be full of the love that you shared

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday

You can remember her and only that she is gone
Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on

You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
Or you can do what she would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

My eyes are welling up, but the optimism of that poem inspires me.

This poem is the most beautiful one I’ve ever read.
I will focus on the positive…..she gave me so much joy.
And in time the happy tears will replace the sad tears…..that is my promise, to my sweet girl, Shaalee.

DD made me go along with her because she wanted lunch from IHOP. Made me. As long as I was there, too, I ordered blueberry/lemon pancakes. They were good, but now I feel like I've got 30 lbs of lead in my butt.

Then we went to the garden centers. One of them is just across the parking lot from the IHOP.

Delphiniums hate me, but DD made me get one. I have a metal garden sign that says "Grow, Dammit" and after the delphinium is planted, the sign is going up right in front of it.

She also made me get two more balloon flowers, a white guara and an upright pink verbena. I'd never heard of upright verbena.

I hate when DD makes me do stuff that I wouldn't do on my own;)

There was still $28 and change left on the gift card so I only spent $19.19 in real money.

It's too hot to plant the flowers. Maybe tomorrow.

We were in East London today, it was where we once lived, many years ago. Having an hour to spare we drove to the church of St Anthony where, fifty-five years ago, we exchanged wedding vows.

Later we kept the appointment that brought us to London when we attended this place:

It's The City of London cemetery and crematoria. We attended the funeral of someone close and very dear.
It's still too raw and painful to expand on that, another time when the tears have ebbed a little.
Sad news @horseless carriage - my condolences to you and Mrs HC.

I went back to delivering meals to shut-ins today. They sent someone to go with me, but he's an office worker and hasn't done the route before. There are 16 people on the route and they are spread out all over the town (I'll get the mileage next time - probably close to 30 miles). There were six new people and address on the route list that I wasn't familiar with since the last time I did this, and since the supervisor hadn't done it before, it took us some time (about an hour and a half), but eventually worked it out. Sounds like I'll be assigned Thursdays until further notice.

The first thing I checked was to see if the baby bird had left the nest. Gone. The neighbours will be happy because every time the birds were active it rattled their drain pipe.

Prepping for friends coming for dinner. They’re back on a diet so I had to change my plans. It’s too hot to turn my oven on so I’ll be ordering in. I made the appetizers. And putting together a cold dessert.

@Jules ”Prepping for friends coming for dinner. They’re back on a diet so I had to change my plans”

It reminds me of when our children and their families all come over.
Two are gluten free, one is keto, one is veg and meat only, one is something else but I forget. 😂
Its really hard to make something they can all eat and that tastes good!

At least they all love each other and have a good time playing games and laughing 😊

I have a top so similar to this but its more of a chambray fabric. I got it to wear with white jeans. You reminded me to wear it!

~Had a long conversation with my sister and a short one with my BFF. My sister forgot we spoke only 2 days ago and that she was the one that called me today. Her short term memory is getting worse. :(
~Changed Deja's litter. She always christens the litterbox immediately after I do that. 😸
~Did a lot of dozing and napping.
~Played WWF, Cody Cross and watched T.V.
I was incredibly lazy today and did not do any of the chores I planned to do. 🥴
