We had our church sponsored Championship shooting match today I did not feel safe on my feet shooting so just went to visit and eat BBQ I was put in charge of the meal prep we had almost 40 shooters on a bad hot and humid day in Texas. For $5 per person members could shoot in match and get all the BBQ they could eat, we had brisket, ham, chicken, pulled pork with all the sides. Prizes for all, pocket knives. Choice there per luck of your pick from box. I did the right thing by not shooting today from the after of my recent surgery. I will be back next month for sure a 2 gun match.

Storms last few days blew things around but had a chance to cut the grass today.
Found $5.00 on the lawn out by the street. Didn't think it was real. Had to look at the back.

`A church that sponsors shooting?? sounds like an oxymoron to me?
WE also have a security team in place We copied this from another church in central US. We wanted to be different also we have weekly team/calf roping and penning along with sponsored coyote hunts, with firearms/knives for prizes not for all but works for us well. With a monthly service on horseback included.

Guess you have never been to a real cowboy church in Texas there, these things were done per members suggestions, well behaved dogs also allowed to attend. We have members that are usually not too welcome at other places, but with 3 services on Sundays we must be doing something right, we had to have a 2nd early Sat am breakfast due to the turnout we generated all outside cooked on an open campfire in dutch ovens, seldom do we have a week go by without something happening. we have 750 signed on regular members and had to expand several times. We have almost 100 acres of land now and started in the pastor's barn sitting on hay bales.

~Cleaned Deja's litter box twice today.
~Went food shopping early this morning; there were only three other customers (one family) in the store. I realized I should make Saturday mornings my shopping day. There's hardly any traffic, the store is empty if I go when they first open (8:00) and the shelves will be stocked for the Saturday shoppers.
~Unpacked and rotated her Chewy food order, so that several varieties are in the cabinet as well as in the box that is stored.
~Took a very long nap after lunch since I didn't sleep well last night.
~Swept and wet Swiffer-ed the bathroom floor. I'm tired of dealing with the mop and my new system is working pretty well.
~Phone conversations with my BFF, cousin in Puerto Rico and my honorary granddaughter.
~Continued binge watching Blue Bloods.

It looks like it may be another rainy day here in Florida. We had plans to work outside on the driveway and carport, but if the rain continues, that work will be postponed. I guess our choices will be limited to inside activities, like playing video games or maybe going to Lowes for supplies for projects planned that we hope to complete before I return to Virginia,

It's 10.45 am . it's hot but less hot than previous days. The forecast said it would rain today from 6am... there is NO rain... I was looking forward to the rain, we've not had any in weeks... I deliberately didn't plan anything for the day because of the rain forecast.... 😝...oh well I'll just get the chores done.. and I might do a whole house deep vaccing... I vac every day with a hand held cordless... and about once a month I get the heavy duty Miele out and do serious Vaccing upstairs and down....oooh the joy....🧐

Morning gang!!!! Up too early, but thats how it goes...supposed to get rain later, maybe severe...70deg F now, into 90's later today,,,,,,had my mail lad do a bit of work yesterday cleaning out shelves that I cannot get to, sure got a mess to go thru now...put the junk into two plastic tubs....catch u later.....;)

  1. It's Father's Day once more... but we're in a better place, so it's a lot easier this time around.
  2. As usual considering alternatives in order to save on Entertainment package. Sky Stream TV sounds good option but my contract ends Nov. Will have to call in coming week. (Anyone who've used it, please give experience and if you've saved money afterall?)
  3. Having a Fryup tonight for dinner in hubby's honour.
  4. Glad weather is cooler. Wo-Men-A-Pause lol, not as annoying as usual.
  5. Later friends!

Well...finally we got rain.... it poured stair rods for about 10 minutes... enough for people to go running in from their pools etc.. and then it stopped.:( It hasn't even cooled the air...

In the meantime, I've got all the cleaning done...and then sat down and ordered new computer glasses online...compare to my opticians prices last year £400 + for readers and distance ... they were a bargain at £68.00

It's only been a year since I had my eyes tested, and got new specs.. but I have a couple of pairs each for distance and the same for readers, but the blue lenses for the computer, are one pair on their own, and now 15 months old, so I want another pair to chop and change so the first pair don't get worn out too quickly..

You won't believe what I've been doing today....chasing around a bull! He belongs to the ranch that borders against our property. I saw him last night, by my flowers, just as it got dark out. Dio went out with a spotlight, and shooed him away.

This morning, we saw him down by the pond, so I called the ranch manager and told him that he had an escapee over by our place.

emoticon
It turns out that this bull escaped twice yesterday, and the ranch manager has been chasing him around, trying to get him to stay in his own pasture...and not having much luck with it.

For now, the bull is back where he belongs. At first, I thought it was sort of funny, but I don't think so anymore. His hooves have done a lot of damage to our trails, and he has left some huge pies on the trails, too! I'm telling you...never a dull moment around here!
And that's no bull!

Home. I didn't break a sweat at work because...I didn't feel like it. Off tomorrow.

Not gonna water because the week-long rain is supposed to start around suppertime. Week-long? Um. The way the weatherheads are talking about it, it's gonna be 40 days and 40 nights.

Father's Day festivities are supposed to start around 3 this afternoon. If DSIL can tear himself away from work. His spendy new recliner is in two boxes in the garage. If DGS turns up early enough, I guess he and DD will bring it inside and set it up.

We can rest assured that his every day off from now on will find him reclining :giggle:, and after every hard day on his feet will find his feet and back being massaged and heated.

Gigi...we were warned.. over and over again for the last 2 weeks we were facing a months' worth of rain in 12 hours ..Thunderstorms and lightening.. the whole 9 yards. In fact We got 10 minutes.. it wet the ground well enough but it was dried up again within 30 minutes... (n)

hibernating in my room... eating lightly... blowing by dose It's humorous, kind of, that the anti-biotics are working and I can cough more easily but in the short term, it's also opened up my sinuses. I have a severe case of the "DUUUUUHHHHs"

Alternating between Youtube videos, a book ("The Thursday Murder Club"), online games, praying and visiting FB. Nothing mentally strenuous.

Watching one of Kirstie and Phil's UK property shows (their banter tickles me) and the one house they are looking at has a staircase to the top-floor loft that is called (per the owners) "Space saver stairs"-- best I can see, they save space width-wise only; there is a 1/2 step on each rise, alternating sides. I just shudder looking at them, much less thinking about going up and down them, especially with a full basket of laundry, or bulky box. Talke about a FALL HAZARD!! I would be in a heap at the bottom with a goose egg on my head or a broken neck for sure. Are these a popular feature, @hollydolly and other UK friends?

I went on my early walk at 6:30 this morning to buy local paper
Around 9:20am,I walked to my church for our 10:30 service which is now in our new renovated chapel, where our summer service will be held until the 1st week in Sept
I got a ride home with my friend Marcia, told her about my frigerator was on its last legs. I've had it for 34 yrs since the day I moved into my apt , had to toss the ice cream, yesterday figured it was time to get a new one. I asked if she would take me to local appliance store,Orvilles to see what they have I took measurements&photos of the frig before hand. The sales rep was extremely helpful, my frig is being delivered sometime tomorrow. They will call to give me a 2 hr window. All I have to do is take everything out to the frig, they will do the rest including taking my old one. I'm so happy, know I will sleep better tonight

Well, I've guaranteed myself a sore back tomorrow....got down
and dirty with the dirty stool....I have a high rise seat on it and
nasty gunk gets in between the seat and the stool itself...and I
would not ask my housekeeper to do it, cause I got to unscrew
the dang thing to get it up high enuff to clean under it.....so I
did that and then took a pain pill and am setting on my heat pad, so thats enough for today...... :p 😠😭

No space saving stairs haven't taken off here very much .... I've seen them on Pinterest but I don't know anyone who has them...
