Just applied for my State Pension
exciting..I remember when I applied for mine 2 years ago..Just applied for my State Pension
Funny you talking about dodging the rain lol... We got soaked at the first bus stop waiting for it to arrive. Then, we managed to do our shopping dry and the rain came round 11pm. They never get the weather correctly, after a quarter of a century, I know LOL!I feel for you being awakened by noisy machines. They start early with them around here too, as they did yesterday morning. But I'm up in the middle of the night until I decide to take a nap, so I was already awake when he started (either it was a leaf blower or mower). Then there's the maintainance man who vacuums the hallways and blasts he radio way too early in the morning.
When my husband was in the hospital and my step daughter picked me up so we could visit, she bought me a vanilla-chai tea from Dunkin Donuts. I was hooked, so I bought a pack of 6 Bigelow vanilla-chai tea bags from Amazon. I don't drink it often because it's caffeinated but I sure enjoy the fragrance and taste when I do. Between my son and I, we have a variety of teas in the house. Turns out one of the ones he has is Serendipitea's masala chai. I never touched it, but now you have me curious to try it.
I hope you had a productive day and was able to dodge the rain.
you know what..everyone that I know whose watched My Cousin Vinny.. say it's the funniest film they ever saw... I watched it and didn't find it funny... I just didn't get it...You know the saying "Everything happens for a reason..." Unfortunately, most of us don't know the reason. Umph! That surely complicates things...
However, when some things in life upsets you, it's time to put your feet down, turn off things and put it all in the hands high...
I'm chilling this week... I've put it all away, my nerves need a break.
It's raining just now, house is cooler, kitty's happy high on cabinet relaxing. Daughter sleeping. Watching "My Cousin Vinny" funny film.
yes it absolutely is ok.. Kat... take your time do what you can , no rush.. only yourself to answer to..I am working on a new blog post and having my coffee. Probably going to do some cleaning in the kitchen and maybe.....laundry (not promising myself on that one but maybe). Got a lot done yesterday so if I don't get anything done today that is okay.
That just begs the question, what do you think is the funniest film?you know what..everyone that I know whose watched My Cousin Vinny.. say it's the funniest film they ever saw... I watched it and didn't find it funny... I just didn't get it...![]()

Sorry to read this @Pepper I can't think of anything to say which will help you but, I send you my best wishes xA few hours ago I learned my only sibling, older sister died this morning. Come September, it will be 20 years since I last saw her. She wouldn't speak to me and I never learned why. I have been trying to reach her and a nephew for the last two decades and was ignored. No one has ever told me why. Our mother died two years before we stopped speaking. I got my first bout with cancer. They visited me in the hospital, then disappeared.
Now she is dead. Another nephew reached out to his cousin, my son. She died of dementia. She was at home. I spoke with this nephew. They are not having a funeral but a memorial service at home. I was told I'd be informed of when.
For the last few hours I've been pacing my apartment. I wish I could throw up, I feel so physically ill. If you guys can stand it, I'll be mentioning it here, in this thread. I don't want to start a thread about her. I'm not comfortable authoring threads.
When it rains, it pours. I am so thankful and grateful for my own son, a loyal, loving man.
No point at all @Pepper You tried your best all those years ago and there seems little else you could have done.I just spoke with my brother-in-law, the first time since September '03. He informed me she came down with dementia in 2013. He claims, and I believe him, that he begged her to see me over and over again for years and she would begin screaming so he would stop. That doesn't excuse him or my 3 nephews & 1 niece that I was a second mother to. I wouldn't say that to them, I'm just telling you guys, but now it makes more sense. I still don't understand the first 10 years of silence, but now I can better understand the last decade. I will not be bringing it up to them, ever. My BIL introduced the topic, not me. What's the point? I missed out on marriages, births. What a waste, what a waste.
