Today, in it's inimitable style,
The Daily Mail reports in a headline grabbing statement: "Terrifying Threat of Under Population," and continues:
Three in four countries face the threat of 'under population' by 2050 because of the world's plummeting birth rates, shock research warned today. By 2100 this could rise to 97 per cent of all nations, in what experts have described as a 'staggering social change'.
Meanwhile,
The National Library of Medicine, warns that at the beginning of the nineteenth century, the total world population crossed the threshold of 1 billion people for the first time in history.
A couple of centuries later, the world population reached 7 billion, that was just after 2010, and is expected to count 9 billion by 2045.
Who do you believe? What do you make of rising/falling headcounts?
