I see they are making a Downton Abbey #3... I'm sorry, I never got into it much when it was on tv and now when I see the ads for yet another installment, my reaction is, um, tepid (politest I can come up with). Can't we give it a rest??

I personally thought it was Dross....

Didn't do anything much today... took a big bag of canned and packet foods, and some shampoo to the food donation place... I've actually had that bag filled up for several weeks, but I kept forgetting to take it out with me...

Tidied up the garden where we had storm force winds on Saturday..and several things had blown over.. but other than those..I've done nothing today..(yesterday now)..

We also been doing the Yard this spring summer, the gift that keeps on giving. It seems to be a dry late summer here after a very wet spring. Ya think ya know weather and you take it in the arss. Weather forecasters are B.S. 10 years from know will most likely be a cold spring/summer/fall and a warm winter. Haha

~Loaded and ran the dishwasher

~Watched a couple of episodes of Blue Bloods
~Started the process of catching up on SF posts

Napped on and off during daylight hours so I'll probably be up during the middle of the night. I'm going to make that faux potato salad I intended to make a couple of days ago (using cauliflower instead of potatoes). I'll play WWF, watch World News Tonight and more shows on my tablet with earbuds, so as not to disturb my son.

@CinnamonSugar I checked out Downton Abbey because of all of the hype back then. I didn't expect to like it that much but decided to give it two episodes. Well, after the first episode, I was hooked! The writing and cast were excellent. I loved Maggie Smith's character. I watched all the seasons and saw the movies too. I'm sure I'll want to see Downton 3.

Will be interested to hear what you think of it, @OneEyedDiva 😊

..but it was so very historically inaccurate right down to the costumes and the furniture in many scenes. awful...

Since I didn't know the history, furniture or the style of dress for that period, it wasn't a deterrent. If I paid attention to things like historical accuracy, scientific accuracy, probability that events could really happen, etc., I wouldn't be able to enjoy watching most T.V. shows.

Then you will know that only documentaries would meet your standards, HD! Shows for the entertainment of the masses are riddled with inconsistencies, as OED pointed out. There is another historic show out at the moment (Bridgerton, I think) that people raved about because it was so explicit sexually! On their recommendation I reluctantly researched it <wink, wink, nudge, nudge> for a few episodes and gave up because it was so unrealistic for its time! 21st Century attitudes displayed in the early 19th century! In any case I don't need to see s.x in a show or movie in order to be entertained.

no it's not true that Documentaries would only satisfy my viewing criteria..I can watch anything that doesn't purport to be a ''Historical'' drama.. and enjoy it.. but if you're going to promote a drama to be historical..then be historically correct...that includes everything from the Props..to the script.. and storylines.,.

Today the weather isn't behaving as it should. It's Sunny, but forecast said it was going to rain.. now forecast says it will thunderstorm from about now (12.20) until 2pm.. .. I want to go out but I have to wait in for a delivery which has no ETA... so for the moment I just have to stay here..

@Supernatural
That is really a terrible situation, and one that has gone on for so very long, despite all the efforts your husband made to deal with it, and that you have had to continue to live through and to try to resolve.
I understand that level of frustration and anxiety, which effects our abilities to function well.
I find things like that, very upsetting, as well, so I can understand that, which you wrote out, here.

I hope you will get some helpful action, from contacting the OFG..... next week. I sure know how difficult, each added step to this sort of thing, truly is.
UPDATE 17 JULY 2023

I'm getting new help (new case as well, which will take a month to resolve). The mix up has nothing to do with us, neither hubby nor myself.

It's eye opening nonetheless... Here's short version lol!

The National Database is where this mess originated. Company A had wrong code all along. As of today, Company B shows the address they supply is actually in North London, England.

WOW ISN'T IT? So now new EHU has contacted both companies and assured me that I owe no money to neither. Company A is fully paid and Company B is running after the wrong accounts.

Funny how this mess on the National Database Grid was never found out by OFGEM? Seriously wondering who else isn't good at their jobs in there.

The handler was appalled at the way we've been treated in this situation which is now over 4 years by 7 days and won't be resolved before 17 August...

I'm glad I insisted and persisted in complaining but I'm heartbroken that due to this stressful situation my husband died of a massive heart attack. Where's the justice in this?

All I know, I'm currently provided electricity by Company A, my original supplier. It's another stupid waiting game for people who should be fired from their jobs.

What am I going to get out of this? Hopefully, some serious apologies and the freedom to move to the one now providing Gas supply since 8 July 2023, known for now as Company C.

Seriously exhausted... Thanks for reading and supporting, much appreciated 👍

Seeing how it persisted down on Saturday:
St. Swithin's day if thou dost rain,
For forty days it will remain.
St. Swithin's day if thou be fair,
For forty days 'twill rain nae mair.

altho' it's sunny now.. the thunder has started, and it's so loud I think it must be overhead...Supposed to stop by 2pm..no rain yet.....

Forecasters saying we're not going to see any significant heat until around the 12th of August...suits me

Getting ready to go to bed. I at least prepped for dinner tonight last night. It was much cooler here the last 24 hours and we got some rain!! I slept most of the day yesterday, why is it the sound of rain will just take the stress out of your body.
