Thank you,, ladies who put up the bra information.
I'll be looking at them.

When DIL was here she was going to show me the bra she like's.
Guess she forgot about it.
She did remark that she "never" buys online items.

They live in the Lancaster area of PA,,plenty of shopping places there.

I made note of those favoured bras too. I refused to buy one the other day ($88) because it wasn’t on sale and it just a plain style that wasn’t worth that much. I watch the sales.

do you shop at Temu yet ?... these non-wired Bras are fantastic.. and so cheap... I have various colours.. and they're absolutely true to size which is always a problem when buying online ..

I don’t know what’s going on with me lately…. I can’t seem to find a good book to save my life. Most of the ones I’ve picked up from the library or book sale this summer have either bored me to tears or I’m so irritated with stupid plot or insipid characters, I end up pushing (or throwing in some cases) the book aside.

Oh well, there are worse problems to have

Y’all have a good night

What type of book do you like, fictional history or Romance or other? Get a Cell Ap to check out options very reasonably priced monthly.
Ear buds and Cell close and you are connected to all you want to hear. I mostly have been reading Naval Fiction these past 10 years but a reread of "From Here to Eternity" sits there by the throne to go for soon. Haha

@Leann — 24 h further along, I am less fuzzy-headed, am reading more of the Thursday Murder Club and enjoying it immensely 😁. Great characters ands plenty of twists/turns.
@CinnamonSugar I just finished "The Thursday Murder Club"...so well written, I enjoyed it immensely. I borrowed a digital copy from my local library. For some reason they don't have the second book in the series 🤔but they do have the third "The Bullet That Missed" so I'm going to start that one tomorrow. Have you read it?

Normally I go for “cozy” mysteries but the newer ones have *nothing* on the golden age writers!

Also like historical fiction

Classics…. Jane Austen, the Brontes, George Elliot …

Ah well tomorrow is a new day

Hi @Leann yes, the Thursday Murder club was a definite bright spot in my summer reading. Also enjoyed the Maisie Dobbs Series

One thing that has put me off is authors seem to be relying more on “unsavory” plot devices (like history of or current incest) in the characters lives to explain the motivation behind the happenings on the book. Just a *very big* turn off to me 😣

I’m reading, or should say trying to read, it right now on my iPad. My vision is so bad that I’m having a terrible time. This may be the last attempt. Maybe I’ll try a small kindle, though I hate the thought of another device. Usually I prefer to read while travelling. Until recently hadn’t done much of that either.

Was going through some pictures my cousin sent me this week from his mom's collection.
Besides a formal marriage picture (1952), this is the oldest photo I have of my parents together as a couple.
Think it's 1954 and mom 20, dad 24. And I learned something about my mom ...
Apparently she did not like to iron men's shirt collars !!! :p

Fabulous photo, I too have a photo of my parents taken in 1948, with me, at two years old. I have posted it previously, it's photo that I cherish.

What a fun time we had last night, so good seeing lots of old friends, many of whom have either been housebound or, like us, been infected by covid. Our social life finally seems to be on the up.

We arrived as the band were setting up.

The lights dimmed and the dancers took to the floor.

You can just make out the image of my lady, she's wearing my fedora and doing a: "Putting on my Top Hat," routine.
I must show you what she made to wear for this evening. It really needs daylight to see the mauve colour.

It really was a great time, mind you, when we got home a hot bath to
bathe away the old age aches and pains, was just the thing before bed.

Sunday is just another day here..

We have an 8-day Westminster chime clock in the lounge and Sunday morning means "wind the clock". For a pendulum clock, it keeps very good time - within maybe 10 seconds a month. It's also chat with younger daughter time. She uses her free minutes on her mobile.

Not sure what to be doing today. The Met office site has problems so I haven't been able to get an up to date forecast. The council site is also down, so I can't check if the recycling centres are open. Still, if they are, they will be busy so I might just wait till tomorrow to dump the garden rubbish.

The weather is fine at present, so I'll head up the garden and see how things are progressing. The tomatoes have started to ripen and the courgette plants are continuing to produce. This year, we have a bigger number of toads taking up residence in the polytunnel. I've got no idea where they come from, but there are all sizes hiding amongst the leaves.

Time to go and do something useful...

Is that our Richard Osman?.. he's a TV quiz show host here... a lovely man... super intelligent..a literal Giant in both senses of the word...
I don't read fiction so I've not read any of his books, but all of them have rave reviews .

The Last Devil to Die is his latest book... apparently you should read his books in order as they build up the previous characters

I found that too, which is a big reason I stopped reading Fiction...

Good morning! Not going to be as hot today as yesterday. If the weathdudes are to be believed, "only" 89. Lawn needs to be mowed when I get home. Good thing it's a small lawn.

DD and I are going Walmarting this afternoon. Not looking forward to it, but it has to be done.

And now? I'm off to make Sunday morning pleasant for the croissant masses.

It sounds a tad unfair if you 'tar all fiction with the same brush' . I don't like stories with gratuitous violence, but I've read quite a few 'who dunnit' books which were enjoyable light reading. I quite enjoyed 'The Thursday Murder Club', but I just couldn't "get into" 'The Man who died twice'.

Well I didn't tar all fiction with the same brush..I said that Gratuitous violence and Incest was a One reason.. I stopped reading fiction... not the only reason..
