What are you doing today 2023

Today was fun. First there was the regular Friday hike, but due to the extremely hot weather I was the only one that went. It was okay (shady in the woods), hot but not unbearable (did have to mop my face regularly to keep sweat from dripping into my eyes) (sorry if TMI).

Then to cool off I went to watch the Barbie movie and I enjoyed it (I think it had been a year since I was in a movie theater). Ken was so hot! ha ha (but really he was!). I don't know much about any actors, but I wonder how people who knew him received the information that he'd gotten a part being Ken in the Barbie movie. Heh heh heh.

After that I went to the clubhouse to work on one of the jigsaw puzzles -- I was avoiding home because the community wants us all to have our air conditioning set a bit higher during super hot days for them to get a discount from the power company (I think). And while I was there a guy came by wanting to give away for free a couple of $20 tickets to a band because he and wife couldn't make it. So I rushed home to shower, then got drenched in a downpour going to see the band. They were good, I'd never heard of them, they were all old people and they said at the end of the show that they are retiring the band this year. Called the Hubcaps.

Beside listening to the Thunder and trying to fix my computer I did have a pretty nice day. My Nephew who lives in Georgia called me today. He is my older brothers son and is closer in age to me. I was only 4yrs old when he was born. He only got married 3 yrs. ago. He was always mistaken for Chuck Norris. He got so many free things even though he would always say he wasn't Chuck no one believed him.

I finally sat down and practiced the piano this afternoon. I hadn't practiced in weeks. I was still a little tired after my afternoon nap but prepared myself mentally for our studio session this evening. It went better than anticipated and we were at it for three hours. My son congratulated me on not falling asleep this time. :D I'm happy with the progress of one of the songs we are mixing so that it will sound almost identical, if not identical to what I'd saved in iTunes before my digital program crashed. I had what I call a "relaxed, busy" day.

The old MG is booked in for inspection ready for next Saturday's journey when we are off to the all day Summertime Swing event. It's a busy day, we are going to a funeral on Tuesday the 2nd. I am trying to book an overnight stay and everywhere within twenty miles is either full or seriously expensive. Looks like a very early rise on Tuesday.

What to wear tonight, we are going to a vintage Big Band event in Ringwood. Given that it can get quite warm on the dancefloor, I shall probably choose an Aloha shirt rather than collar and tie. I would love to wear the new trousers my lady is making for me. She was up until the early hours, they are almost finished, but I need another fitting to get the trouser leg hems correct. What to wear?

The type I used to like was changed and made horrible a couple years ago, so I switched to a type from Amazon that has over 40,000 reviews and I really like them. The price is best on Prime Day in November (I think they were $16 then), currently ranging from $21 to $40+ depending on whether it is a cute color. I go with boring colors to save money.
Name of the bra is

Warner's Women's Easy Does It® Underarm-smoothing With Seamless Stretch Wireless Lightly Lined Comfort Bra Rm3911a

Thanks! I will try it, I just put the toasted almond color one in my cart and it is $21.99. Not bad! I usually pay double that.

I've just been out hedge trimming again... just neatening off the tops of the high hedges with the High reach trimmer.. but it's hot, so I gave it up for another day.. everything looks pretty decent anyway..

Got a delivery today from Temu... if I buy exfoliating gloves in the stores they cost around £2.00 or more per pair and as much as £5.00 per pair... I got 5 gloves in various pastel colours.. from temu.. for £2.45....can't complain at that... (y)

yes but it doesn't seem there is anything missing looking at the instructions. Every piece is numbered, and I put them altogether as per instruction, but the frame poles.. which go around the bottom to hold the thing rigid, just keep falling out..
There's a chance that it is defective; perhaps those frame pieces are not the exactly correct size to fit, the way they should.?
Or instead, the part the frame sets into, might be slightly off?

In either case, it might be destined for the return process?

It's understandably frustrating, in any case!

Hubby & I went shopping,, bought a new comforter for our bed.
I really went to buy some new bras but didn't get any.

Prices ranged from $12 to $50 ,,, gulp.

Ladies what is the most comfortable bra made?
I've bought these sets of three. They're super comfortable, offers great support. Especially, if you take one size smaller than your usual.

Prices vary according to sellers but they're worth it. Amazon should offer same in your neck of woods. Good shopping!

Went out with daughter to our local Sports Centre. Had a blast playing Tennis on indoor court for an hour. These racquets we'd acquired at the charity shop were Dunlop. They're in brand new shape. Once we got gym bag out of storage, it was tear-jerking to read a note from hubby, which said:

"Note to Family -- dogs destroyed real Tennis balls. Will have to buy new ones next summer. These ones included here just don't bounce enough, but the dogs liked them. July 2011..."

Doggies passed away in 2012 after the summer's Olympics Games.

So this morning, we made a stop at Sports Direct and got Wimbledon tennis balls set of 4. They bounced very well. We've got our own style, where we use the walls as well as pitch. We don't count points but boy did we get the stress out of ourselves.

Came back home, had lunch, took our vitamins each. Watched "Yours, Mine and Ours" film with Dennis Quaid and Rene Rousso. Made a Harry Potter of coffee with Aldi's French Roast Grounds and now enjoying "Innerspace" film with Dennis Quaid and Martin Short.

Planning Fryup for dinner tonight. Then after dishes done, the Lethal Weapon film series. Good Saturday... Oh and Popcorn maybe!

I'm home.

Asked Sir about schedule and he said he has to make it like that or management will reduce the hours the bakery is allowed and give those five hours to another department but that if I want to leave at 10 to go ahead.

Sure. He and I both know that if the work isn't done at 10, I'll stay to finish it.

Oh, well. Just knowing that I can leave makes it better.

The mountains ⛰️ ⛰️ of work I left yesterday? They were still there waiting for me this morning.

It's hotter again today but overcast right now so the sprinkler is doing its sprinkler thing. No rain🌧️ in sight:(. There won't be any gardening done today. The poor pitiful garden is looking pretty shaggy.

We need to do some Walmarting, but this is the weekend before most schools start here and Walmart is going to be a zoo. DD says we'll go tomorrow...as if that's gonna be any better:rolleyes:

ETA: It's supposed to be "cooler" by Wednesday...only 92! Need to get out my long unders :D

Well I must be some sort of glutton for punishment.. I went back out and cut both lawns , because I heard it's going to rain tomorrow.. and it's lovely and sunny today... So off I went accompanied by my trusty mower, and wheelie bin... and mowed the front... then as always I clean down the front door and the doorstep... but more punishment needed obviously... I mowed next doors lawn as well... 🫣 🏘️🏡...Now before you start thinking WTH...?
I have to preface it with... next door is a rental.. and it's almost all driveway.. with just a 12x 12 piece of lawn on it.. and the tenant family have gone to Eastern Europe for the summer. I cannot stand seeing the lawn next to mine overgrown.. so I did it.. 🫡 I was however hot as could be once I'd finished everything, so I've just jumped in the cool shower.... and now I'm sitting by the open window.. with a fan blowing on me and long glass of Cold orangeade. 🍹

Today I wrote a new blog post then went to two parks and took pictures. Then went to the library twice (working on getting a library card) which is right across the street. I needed to bring my driver's license for ID to get the card. Well, it turned out that my license does not have this address on it because when I changed it five years ago they said they don't issue a new one until it expires. Just write the address on the back. I did but it as worn off. The library won't take it as ID unless it has the present address printed on it (and not by me). So I have to bring a piece of mail or something I got maybe from Medicare to prove I live here. So from now on I will carry a piece of mail with me to prove I live here since my license is useless.

I also purchased a ticket to see The Wizard of Oz, a musical that is playing this week-end in the theater in my building. The Martin Kappel Theater is what was the old auditorium when this was a school. I am sure Pappy remembers it! I am going to the 2:00 PM show tomorrow (Sunday) and I can't wait! It took me a bit to hit the purchase button.......stepping out of my comfort zone doing this! That is what inspired me to go to the library today too.

That is my day today.........worn out now.
