What are you doing today 2023

Talk me down! I've been reading Taste of Home recipes posted on today's MSN home page. Biscuits, casseroles, baked spaghetti. I want to waltz into the kitchen and make them all. And eat them. Never mind fancy, schmancy gourmet food. I want the real stuff...comfort food. Not that I need comforting. It just all looks so good.

There's a recipe for poultry stuffing that reminded me that I haven't baked a chicken in dog years. It used to be Sunday dinner, and I was the one who plucked and cleaned out the chicken (sometimes I was the one who had to kill the chicken). Once I found an egg that hadn't been laid yet. Can't get fresher than that!

Seeing all those old-timey recipes reminded me of lots of old-timey foods that we used to have. Custard pie. Baked cauliflower. Salisbury steak. Ham and scalloped potatoes. German potato salad. There was a recipe for it, served with sauerkraut and sausage.

Left to my own devices, I'd weigh 200 lbs and smile a whole lot:D

An FYI: It's only 97 today (feels like 102).

It had to happen. An article yesterday all about Hallowe'en costumes. At least today there's an article about easy Labor Day recipes. There are special foods for Labor Day?

I bet it's only a few days before Home Depot has their over-the-top Hallowe'en decorations out and Walmart has their Christmas tree displays lit up!

You have a B&M store in a Village ?... Good lord I've never heard of a B&M store in a village... 😲
Hehe, sorry dear, I call wee cities as villages. Just old habit!

Our local is smaller built into what used to be a Tesco. When they moved to bigger premises, B&M arrived. Sadly, we lost our Homebase and got TheRange. Au Natural left and we got a HomeBargains.

In next wee city, aka village lol, we've got a bigger B&M in a retail park, along a B&Q, Aldi, Poundland (which sells clothing and more), a huge Food Warehouse by Iceland, TK MAXX, SuperDrug, Next, M&S, Costa and a Warehouse sized Tesco Superstore.

Quite the spread and the savings are amazing.

Was out in the country and had to find my way home through a small town ...
DISCLAIMER: Despite the announcement at the end, I and my dog Mason live alone. The only ones here.

I got a notice from YouTube that my video was blocked by copyright owners in some countries.
At first I thought, "What the actual heck?" ... then realized there are 2 songs playing on the Jeep's radio as I cruise.
So I don't know ... I can see the video but you may not be able to D'OH

I saw it all fine..I was thinking you're like me, I play my music on the radio very loud...

Woke up from a 4 hr nap at 5 pm, sat outside and ate the lunch I had prepared earlier in the day (chicken cooked with Zataran's seasoning makes a DANDY chicken salad, I must say). There was a storm approaching: the lively breeze sent the tulip poplar tree limbs dancing, thunder rumbled in the distance and I watched two red tailed hawks soar and wheel on the air currents.

Now finished making a batch of granola and am packing for my monthly trip to Americus for 4 days of work.

I had done well for a few days but am back to being up all night. I sleep well when I sleep but I have to wait until I am exhausted. I hate that other suffer the same but it also makes me feel better that I am not alone. It seems to be a common problem as we age.

I gotta stop looking at MSN home page. Now there's one with 32 no-bake desserts.

I've found a pizza dip on there once, which became a favourite at least once a week, when our family had 4 people still.

Also, one place via Browser I love to find easy recipes is here:

This morning I'm sitting here giggling at people wo make themselves look rediculous while thinking they are "getting even" for some perceived slight. Its funny how its usually the self-important ones who think its important. Ah, well, simple pleasures go well with coffee.
