Should women be allowed to go topless?

However there is also a semantic focus to this thread "should women be allowed to go topless" - who the hell believes that women have to request societal approval to go topless and where fgs? - I assume they are permitted to go topless in privacy of their own homes ?? - and on certain allocated and segregated beaches [that incidentally permit male bottomless too!] - I've seen topless men walking through shopping malls in the far east but never women ? - why not ? surely wots good for the gander should be good for the goose? - and is there a tentative connection about "allowing women to have abortions" - do you see where this is going?

Yes, I did. Apologies.

Whether we agree on subjects or not, the thread has been interesting and I hope you will post many more. :)
Thank you Trish, you're very kind. I am beginning to think that posting controversial subjects should be accompanied by a warning label. "Read and respond at your own risk". This one has resulted in people getting upset with me, and upset with each other over crazy stuff that wasn't even related to the post. I will confess that I do like deep discussions because they make us think and re-think, or they should, but it also puts a target on your back for incoming fire. I don't wish to make any enemies here, but I think I have, so perhaps it is best to err on the lighter side.

How do

My apologizes to you.
My post was completely uncalled for and inappropriate on many levels.

I got very uncomfortable talking via PM’s and from how this topic turned. It was wrong for me to air what I did and I’m truly sorry.

It was wrong for me to attack Avon too, which I did. His lifestyle and what he does is none of my business.

I shall stick to threads that don’t trigger me.

And, I need to add…. I’m VERY aware that I’m gossiped about here but I’m beyond caring about it now. It is what it is.

You are back :) I hoped you would be. And for what it's worth, I hope to see you posting away in the threads.

Apologise accepted @PeppermintPatty of cause why wouldn't it be. Thank you for this, it really does mean a lot.

With a bit of luck, I might get an apology from some others, but I doubt it. I don't want to go on, but I do have to say something about this type of thing in general. It's unfortunate that things in PM's get brought to the public forums, it seems so unnecessary. It's also unfortunate that some others then see that, and then attempt to use it as an uncalled for, unwarranted, inaccurate character assassination of others (not you). I'm sure they knew what there were doing.

Apologies to @bobcat48 also don't you think. For this being brought into HIS unconnected thread.

Time to move on, let everyone enjoy this place for a change.

No worries. It has taught me a few lessons. :)

That's a shame because, personally, I like posters like you who liven things up a bit, that's what makes a forum interesting!

All you can do is post something you find interesting and want to discuss and, if people take it in other directions, that's not down to you.

It's a shame you feel that you have upset anyone much less made enemies and, I hope that's not true. For my part, I thought it was a good thread. People might get a little passionate about their view but, it should never be malicious; attack the post, not the poster.

Anyway, you post whatever you like and I will enjoy battling with you now and then. Remember #don't-be-beige-be-bold :) ;)

I don't think you have made any enemies, I really don't. Or if there are enemies I don't think they have been made by you. I don't think anyone should take too much responsibility if others turn themselves into enemies.

I don't see your thread as controversial either. It seemed like a worthy subject. There will always be people who take things out of context on any subject.

I go along with what @Trish said to you, and I hope you don't think you need to move to the 'lighter side', as you put it. I see from previous posts and other threads of yours that you have far more to offer SF than just the 'lighter side'.

(y) agree - 100% :)

Well, perhaps you're right. I guess if you don't offend some people now and then, you're not really saying much. I can handle disagreements, as long as they are well stated and relevant. Just didn't want to have the discussion devolve into accusations and insults. Thank you for the encouragement though. I'll see if my two brain cells want to get back to work.

No perhaps about it @bobcat48 I am always right! ;)

Forum squabbles are power for the course really, you'll get used to it, a couple more months and you'll be as tough as old boots :)

I researched a bit on whether going topless is a women's rights issue. Yes it is. Mainly it is for public breast feeding. It is seen my a large number of women as a rights issue of course. This thread got into the "pornographic" side of nudity. That IS another complete and complicated issue, but I not sure us mating homo sapiens can handle that kind of thread. I might be wrong but the question on this thread was answered by most everyone as yes, until the issue became about lust. :)

Naa Bob, this thread has been for pussycats, wait until they start their serious stuff, like which way around do you hang your toilet roll. I could not give a toss if women go topless or headless, it can't get any worse than today's new look, and we sure have got a few, adding there is nothing more boring on forums than pages and pages of naked women. Class, I like, as posted before.

I couldn't formulate an argument against women being allowed by law to go to topless.
Well, not until somebody posted this picture...which made me conclude that there has to be a law.

If women going topless was a money maker for big business, then the laws should be changed in short order.

It isn't really so much a moral issue these days, but rather an economic one. Bras and tops of all designs are big money makers and the reason fashions change is because women buying clothes, especially tops, equals big money.

The other thing is many women love fashion and the wealthy or wealthy pretends, couldn't make the same statement topless. Fashion designers and female models would join the unemployed and all the Hollywood female stars couldn't stand out at all the award ceremonies and parties.

I bet plastic surgery would flourish when laws were passed by males that demanded old ladies going topless, get a total boob restoration.:sneaky:

I have no inhibitions about showing my breast, even now with the nipples 3" lower than they once were. I refuse to apologize for gravity damage or my going braless even in light colored summer tops. I didn't burn my bras, I donated them and haven't started smoking weed and I haven't joined a commune, however, I am seeking my inner hippie chic in my advanced years, but have marked finding the fountain of youth, off my bucket list.

"All around the country you are trying your breast, but it never seems like enough. More inflation?" President Joe Biden blooper or was it? At my small size, now sagging, I took it very personal. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Excellent points (I meant the comments, not ...... oh never mind).
I think I was just curious, even though many women would never do it, if they felt that the law itself was unjust and was discriminatory. Just a law that says men can do something that women are not allowed to do seems unfair. But I have realized over the course of this thread that, with few exceptions, no one cares, because they have no intention of exercising that freedom.
Anyway, my admiration for embracing your "hippie chic" and are not self-conscious about anything. I think it is a much healthier way, both mentally and physically, to embrace life. You're not trying to prove anything, or lie to yourself, but just be you and free. There is much to be said about "emotional nakedness", and great articles explaining just what it is to people. Anyway, kudos.

Yes, I think the law is unjust, however I think it should be changed to males having to cover their tops in public other than beaches. I don't enjoy seeing a hairy old chest with a pot belly out in public either. No shirt, no shoes, no vomit!
