What exercise have you done today?

Just some yard work. Brought in the yard waste bin, gathered fallen twigs and put them in the firepit, mowed/mulched fallen leaves on 2/3 of the back yard. I'm ringed in by very tall and mature trees so I stay busy with that crap this time of year. No solar power to speak of or OTA TV via antenna here.

Leaf disposal is getting hairy. We can't burn them, we can only put so much on the curb for pickup each week, and there are too many left over to compost effectively. Leaf pickup stops before the first snow, leaving me piles I have to wait and then bag up in the Spring once pickup resumes.

The trees are now so big and close to houses and wires that even cutting them down is dicey and pricy.

Selfish whinge, please play your tiny violins for me:

I'm on diuretics and I think that's why I get really dry mouth when I work outside. Well, that and too much nasal congestion leading to far too much mouth breathing. So I suck on a small sugar-free mint, which seems to help both issues.

Worked out on weight machines for upper body (chest, shoulders, abs, lower back) and spent 25 minutes on the treadmill. Tomorrow will be arms and legs and the treadmill again.

At the beginning of the pandemic we would walk a mile or so around the lake. I would have to stop intermittently because my outer hips hurt. I was 62 then. Now I'm 65 and my hips don't hurt anymore because I'm stretching and working out my legs. Women tend to have stronger legs than men, so it's my least favorite part to work out but it seems to be working.

I go to Planet Fitness and there is truly a mix of ages from college kids to seniors. It is great to see seniors who I would guess are well into their 70's working out with weights to improve their muscle tone. It is always inspirational to me.

That's me!!! 3 times a week. :D

3 mile walk with neighbor around neighborhood,
46' rowing machine + 31' indoor bike. My legs are a little tired from the rowing.

Tomorrow will be a walk including going up and down the overpass.

There are no hills or buildings with steps close to here, and I was losing the ability to walk well down hills.
So I started doing the overpass on weekends. We avoid it on weekdays due to high school kids zooming down
the sidewalk on their electric bikes. One of them almost hit me head on one day, which would have been a disaster.

Rain on the way here for a few days, Thankfully the morning proved dry enough to attack more leaves, so I mowed/mulched another quarter of the yard.

It is tough to stay ahead of the leaves. I'm cringing for the day that half of the "crop" falls all at once. You'd have to see how many I get to appreciate the significance. I let it go one year and by the next Summer I had lost a lot of grass.

But it gets me moving and in better shape for when the snow falls and I get to shovel that. :ROFLMAO:
