Name something you still have from the 70’s

I don’t have much other than photos and a few sentimental things that the kids made

There is a pice of art that my ex husband made that I’ve always loved, and it’s hanging in the guest room. I’m wracking my brains trying to think of anything else!

How about you?
Gave away to charity auction my entire collection of 45s, it was extensive.

However, I still have my soft toy collection, the oldest from 1964. The ones I cherish from that time are my very first watch (no longer works so kept as a souvenir) as well as a birthday ring from Papa. Lastly, my entire Barbie clothes and dolls, which I passed on to daughter.

Fortunately I had the good sense to keep all my 45's... but like an idiot I gave away all my Albums..believing that CD's were the future... who was to even guess that 30 years later the CD would barely be a thing.. and record players and Vinyl would be back in Vogue...?

Trouble is hindsight is 20/20 isn't it ?... we can't keep everything...

I have some silverware from my first apartment that my mother bought for me as a housewarming gift. That was in 1971. And my son's first baby spoon that I use in my coffee every morning (1970).

A set of serrated knives that was a wedding present. A brown glass casserole dish. My Revereware pots and pans. A chef‘s knife. And best of all, my daughter!
Omg I totally forgot about my Revereware!! My kids keep trying to convince me to get a new set, but there’s no way I’m going to part with what I have!!

I’ve been cooking with it my whole adult life, my kids used various pieces as drums and cymbals for the many “bands” they crested when they were little. Those pots and pans have been used to tote things with, to temporarily hold fish while we cleaned the aquarium, as mixing bowls when I had nothing else!

So many uses over the years. They’re beat up and dinged and dented, but they still cook perfectly!!

Vinyl records. 33's & 45's. Loads of them. Loads. Many of them are from the sixties. Most 45's. The albums, mostly both.

I'm a hoarder. I still have tons of thing from the 70's and before then, like my jewelry.Love letters hubby sent me from the navy during the Viet Nam war.I even have bell bottom jeans from the past,

Gawd, I'm ashamed to say loads of stuff. I've thought so often of getting rid but I'm too sentimental. My daughter will be tearing her out when I've dropped off the plate. :D

Briefly - (haha)

1st wedding present dinner set - 8 piece settings of everything plus coffee/tea/milk/sugar pots, set of kitchen knives, Kenwood Chefette mixer/blender.
Jewellery, craft books, silks and a zillion cotton reels, work related ref books, items from a uniform I wore, certificates job wise, Advanced Motorist badge, membership cards to various clubs, Hydes Anvil Ales poster - caricature of myself and 2 friends, newspaper cuttings of dad, receipts from flying lessons LPs/singles.
Pair of hot pants (still fit ;)), Victorian cape (antique clothes fan then), tribal fur cape from South Africa (present), single set of Mary Quant sheets (superb quality to this day even tho' I don't use them now), cuddly toys that have a special meaning.
Swiss music box/3 small cuckoo clocks, cow bell (which I'm ashamed to say I nicked o_O), Westclox Big Ben alarm clock (still works), transistor radio (still use every day) .... oh a huge box of tools when I was into DIY, c/o my dad :geek:

Incidentally, does anyone remember the days when you could go into a booth and record a record? It was the 60s rather than the 70s. Anyway, amongst the LP/singles is a single of a couple of friends and myself singing Herman's Hermits 'I'm into something good'. I still remember every word
