THE TIMES ... Revealed: the Hamas chief who lives in a London council house

A Hamas fugitive who “ran the group’s terrorist operations in the West Bank” and served on its ruling body lives in London in a council property he recently bought with a £112,000 discount.

Muhammad Qassem Sawalha evaded Israel’s security services using a relative’s passport and fled to the UK in the 1990s, later obtaining British citizenship.

Upon arrival, Sawalha, 62, continued to work for Hamas, holding secret talks about “revitalising” terrorist acts in Israel and helping to launder money to support activities in Gaza and the West Bank, according to a US Department of Justice indictment in 2004.

As recently as 2019, he took part in an official Hamas delegation to Moscow, where he met Vladimir Putin’s deputy foreign minister, and served on Hamas’s politburo between 2013 and 2017. The father of four was pictured with Ismail Haniyeh, the leader of Hamas, in 2010 and 2012.

In 2009, he signed a notorious declaration that praised Allah for having “routed the Zionist Jews”, called for weapons to be sent to Gaza, and demanded a “Third Jihadist Front” be opened in Palestine alongside Iraq and Afghanistan.
Sawalha is officially designated by Israel’s defence ministry as belonging to Hamas and will be arrested if he returns to the country.

The UK proscribed Hamas’s military wing as a terrorist organisation in March 2001, but declined to do the same for its political wing, creating an ambiguity that may mean Sawalha has not committed an offence. He has never been charged with crimes in the UK. In November 2021 the government changed its position and classified Hamas as a terrorist organisation in its entirety, saying any distinction between its various branches was “artificial”.

Despite his activities, Sawalha was granted a British passport in the early 2000s. Home Office guidance states that anyone who “incites, justifies or glorifies” terrorist violence or “seeks to provoke others to terrorist acts” will ordinarily be denied citizenship.

In 2003 he became a council tenant at a two-storey property with a garden and a garage in Colindale in the north London borough of Barnet, and continues to live there with his wife, Sawsan, 56.

The local authority has the highest Jewish population of any in Britain. According to the Office for National Statistics, 56,616 Jews — roughly a fifth of the community’s UK population — live in the borough of Barnet. The address is located less than a 10-minute drive from two synagogues.

In June 2021, the couple used the Right to Buy scheme to purchase their home for £320,700. Barnet council granted the couple a £112,300 discount on its market value — £500 short of the maximum discount available during the financial year. They have no mortgage on the property.

Under the Right to Buy scheme, council tenants are automatically entitled to a discount on a property’s market value. The average price of a property in the area is nearly £600,000 according to Land Registry data.

Amazing. I sure hope that the UK Government has a clause in their citizenship act, that allows a fraudulently obtained citizenship to be REVOKED. The Canadian Government has such a regulation on the books as of 2002. It has been used to kick out criminals and terrorists. Deport this dirt bag, soonest. JImB.

Terrorizing an elderly man in a car that happened to go near a "pro-Palestine" rally.
There's a conspicuous absence of police in that video on the lower right.

Watch the drone footage. They blocked the man in, attacked, he drove off only to be blocked in again.

The degree of arrogance this dirt bag has and his disregard for plain truth is ... what is the word I'm looking for?

Some of these nut jobs need to be awakened in the middle of the night, bound and gagged, thrown on a plane in their yellow dresses and dropped off in Gaza. The people they think they are supporting would murder them in the worst way within the hour. Idiots

When you are out and about in these trying days, always be aware of your surroundings and avoid confrontations at all costs. You may be out numbered and apparently there will likely be little to no law enforcement to aid you. At least in the larger cities.

Revealed: The video Israel claims shows a Hamas terrorist ADMITTING crazed jihadi gunmen were ordered to 'behead' Jewish victims and 'do whatever you want' with them during invasion

captive speaks calmly and clearly. His commanders, he says, ordered their fighters to 'behead' women, children and the elderly.

They were like 'animals' and instructed the invaders that, after murdering women, they should abuse their bodies, he says.

Even after two weeks of unremittingly sickening stories that have emerged since the October 7 atrocity, these are gruesome and incendiary claims, and they come amid a huge backlash against allegations that Hamas beheaded victims.

If what this man is saying is true, Hamas commanders specifically demanded beheadings as the killers prepared for their onslaught of Israeli villages.

The man, we are told, is a Hamas captive, and a video showing parts of his interrogation has been released by the Israeli military.

An elderly woman held hostage for 16 days by Hamas terrorists today explained why she wished them peace despite going 'through hell.'

Footage on Monday evening showed Yocheved Lifshitz, 85, saying 'shalom', which means peace in Hebrew, to a Hamas gunman, and shaking his hand, before leaving with a Red Cross worker after spending more than two weeks as a hostage.

Yocheved, wheelchair-bound and dressed head-to-toe in black, spoke to reporters from Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv with her daughter, British citizen Sharone Lifshitz, 52, on Tuesday.

When asked why she shook the Hamas terrorist's hand, she said: 'Because they treated us very nicely.'

This is despite her admitting that the Hamas terrorists viciously attacked her community in their homes on October 7, and that she was beaten with a stick as she was being taken into Gaza.

'They stormed into our homes. They beat people. They kidnapped others, the old and the young without distinction,' she said.

On top of this, she was beaten up by the terrorists as she was carted away to Gaza: 'The young men hit me on the way. They didn't break my ribs but it was painful and I had difficulty breathing.'

Kill, behead, rape: Interrogated Hamas members detail atrocities against civilians

From the Israeli Times

Israeli security agencies published video footage Monday from the apparent interrogations of seven Hamas terrorists who were captured following the Palestinian terror group’s October 7 onslaught, in which they admitted they had been ordered to carry out atrocities against Israeli civilians.

In one video released by the Israel Defense Forces, a person whose face is blurred said that gunmen were given instructions to kill everyone they saw, including beheading victims and cutting off their legs.

“The plan was to go from home to home, from room to room, to throw grenades and kill everyone, including women and children,” he said. “Hamas ordered us to crush their heads and cut them off, [and] to cut their legs.”

He also said they were given permission to rape the corpse of a girl.

The terrorist was captured during an attack on Kibbutz Alumim, according to the IDF. During the attack, the kibbutz’s local security team managed to repel the terrorists after they had already infiltrated a part of the kibbutz where foreign workers lived. They killed 16 Thai and Nepali nationals there, and abducted eight others to Gaza.

In total, some 1,400 people were murdered in Israel during the unprecedented assault, mostly civilians slaughtered in their homes or at an outdoor music festival, as well as soldiers in bases near the border. At least 224 people, including the elderly, women and children, were abducted to Gaza, in the bloodiest and most deadly attack in Israeli history.

Another video, released by the Shin Bet and the Israel Police, was said to show excerpts from the questioning of six members of Hamas’s elite Nukhba forces who participated in the mass murders and kidnappings.

“In Gaza, those who bring hostages get a grant — an apartment and $10,000,” said one.

One of the men was seen saying Hamas’s orders were to kill young men and to “kidnap the elderly, women and children.”

One testified that he had shot a dog that approached him outside one of the homes.

Another said he and his team had torched two homes.

The Shin Bet and police said in a statement that according to several of the terrorists, while thousands of Hamas operatives were sent into Israel, senior Hamas commanders remained behind, safe in hideout apartments.

They said the detainees had given detailed accounts of the infiltration and the onslaught, including information “that has been used and will be used to attack targets in the Gaza Strip.”

“The security forces of the State of Israel will settle accounts with all the terrorists who participated in the October 7 massacre,” the statement said.

Also on Monday, the government screened for 200 members of the foreign press some 43 minutes of harrowing scenes of murder, torture and decapitation from the onslaught on southern Israel, including raw videos from the terrorists’ bodycams.

The government said it had decided to show journalists part of its collected documentation in order to dispel what a spokesperson characterized as “a Holocaust-denial-like phenomenon happening in real-time,” as doubts have been raised around the world about some of the most horrific of Hamas’s atrocities.

Journalists were not permitted to record the screening, which took place on a closed military base.

I just read an article written by a Jewish man. He is devastated by this war. He knows the history, and understands why this happening. His conclusion is what I can agree with, and hope with all my being that anyone involved can become proactive, in the following way...

I’m pro-not-killing-civilians.

I’m pro-not-trapping-millions-of-people-in-open-air-prisons.

I’m pro-not-shooting-grandmas-in-the-back-of-the-head.

I’m pro-freedom and pro-peace and pro- all the things we never see in this conflict anymore.

Whatever this is, I want none of it.

Elderly Israeli hostages who last night were released by their Hamas captors have told of how they were abducted to Gaza via a 'spiderweb' of complex tunnels.

Speaking to reporters at Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv this morning, British citizen Sharone Lifshitz relayed in English the comments of her mother Yocheved Lifshitz, 85, about her ordeal.

'My mum was saying she was taken on the back of a motorbike, with her legs on one side and her head on another. She was taken through ploughed fields, with men on one side and men behind her,' Sharone, 52, said.

'While she was taken, she was hit with sticks until they reached tunnels. There, they walked for a few kilometres on the wet ground.'

Sharone said her mother was taken to Gaza via the notorious underground tunnels after being relieved of her jewellery and watch.

'There are a huge network of tunnels underneath, it looked like a spiderweb,' Sharone said as she translated her mother's comments in Hebrew.

Yocheved claimed she was taken to Abasan al-Kabira, near Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, but quickly lost track of where Hamas transported her.

She and Nurit Cooper, 79, were handed over by masked Hamas gunmen to Red Cross representatives at the Rafah border crossing yesterday.

Hamas said it released the pair for humanitarian reasons, days after freeing an American woman and her teenage daughter.

Hamas in 2011 said they had constructed more than 300 miles of tunnel systems and although analysts suspected that figure was inflated, the group is sure to have dramatically expanded the network since then.

Israeli woman reveals she was taken through Hamas' 'spiderweb' tunnels

This lady is caught between the devil and the deep blue sea. She must want to tell all she knows about her captors, but her husband whose in his 80's also is still being held hostage

Unfortunately Hamas is not pro any of those things. They never have been and they proved it again on October 7, 2023.

I remember there was peace and Israel wasn't bombing anyone before Hamas terrorists chose to cross the border into Israel and murder civilians in their beds, murder babies in their cribs, cut off their heads, rape women and take men, women and children into Gaza as hostages and that most of those hostages are still held by Hamas terrorists.

Had Hamas not chosen to do these things there would likely still be peace in Gaza today.

It's good to see the 85 year old lady released. I am glad she's safe along with the other lady. She's so frail.

However, my humble opinion is that she is hardly going to say anything really bad about her captors while they still have her husband. Am I too cynical? I can only imagine the extent of the horrors going on.

That seems very logical to me, Rose.

Macron says France stands 'shoulder to shoulder' with Israel

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - French President Emmanuel Macron vowed on Tuesday not to leave Israel isolated in its fight against Islamist militants, but warned against the risks of a regional conflict as he arrived in Israel.

After meeting with families of French victims at Tel Aviv airport, Macron told President Isaac Herzog in Jerusalem that France stood "shoulder to shoulder" with Israel and that the first objective should be to free hostages in Gaza.

"I want you to be sure that you're not left alone in this war against terrorism," Macron said. "It is our duty to fight against terrorism, without any confusion and without enlarging this conflict."

Beyond showing solidarity with Israel, Macron wanted to make "proposals that are as operational as possible" to prevent an escalation, to free hostages, and guarantee Israel's security and work towards a two-state solution, presidential advisers said. He will push for a humanitarian truce, they added.

The same as with US promises I wouldn't stake my future on them following through.

The son of Hamas founder Sheikh Hassan Yousef, who defected from the terrorist group and served as an Israeli spy for years, is warning Americans and the rest of the world how his father and his army wants to 'annihilate' Jewish people and establish sharia law around the world.

Mosab Hassan Yousef, referred to as the 'Green Prince', spied on Hamas for Israel between 1997 and 2007. His intelligence prevented suicide bomb attacks and other strikes.

In a series of interviews with American media outlets today, he warned that his father and Hamas will not be satisfied with taking territorial Palestine alone, and that they are fighting a religious war to which there is no end for them.

'They are a religious movement this is what everybody is afraid to say. If Hamas was a political movement, we could satisfy their political ambition.

'But Hamas is a religious movement that does not believe in political borders - they want to establish an Islamic state on the rubble of the state of Israel.

Yousef warned that Hamas is driven by religion not politics, and that fighters will not be satisfied if they take Palestine alone

They want to annihilate the Jewish people, and the Jewish state, they want to kill everybody who supports Israel then establish an Islamic State.

'But this is not the end because their ambition is global. They want to eventually establish an Islamic State, a global Islamic State,' he told Jake Tapper on CNN.

He also said the group initiates war with the Israelis every few years when they 'need money'.

'This war, Israel did not start. Hamas started this war. Hamas, blood for money, they start a war every few years when they want money they shed children's blood and this has to stop. This has to stop. It has to come to an end.

'Unfortunately the price is not going to be cheap.

'I feel very sorry for Israel that they have to go into Gaza where there are booby traps all over the place...I don't know how many Israeli soldiers have to die in order to destroy Hamas.'

Yousef then appeared on Fox News, where he said the group is 'more dangerous' than ISIS.

Fury as ITV airs interview with British Palestinian woman on Islamophobia in the UK just days after she described the murder of Jews as a 'homecoming' on Iranian state TV and called Hamas attacks a 'moment of triumph'

ITV News aired an interview with a British Palestinian woman on Islamophobia in the UK just days after she described the the murder of Jews as a 'homecoming' on Iranian state TV and called Hamas terror attacks a 'moment of triumph'.

The Board of Deputies of British Jews slammed ITV for its 'staggering failures of due diligence' for giving a platform to Latifa Abouchakra, who has been accused of being a propagandist for Tehran.

Ms Abouchakra, a reporter for Iranian state news channel Press TV, was interviewed about her experiences of Islamophobia in England.

During the broadcast Ms Abouchakra, who was described as a 'British Palestinian woman living in London', said that she had been 'called a terrorist' by strangers in the street.

But critics are urging ITV's chief executive Dame Carolyn Julia McCall to issue a 'public apology' for giving 'airtime to a literal propagandist for the Iranian regime'.

"US areas in Syria and Iraq " ??? Since when did the USA have "areas in Iraq ??? Clarify please ?
By agreement, specific oil-drilling operations/pump-jacks are under the protection of the US military, therefore they are considered US territory. One or two of the US pump-jacks was bombed a couple days ago. I think that's what she's talking about.

Also, the US has military bases there. Embassies, too.

What Jewish man? Where? What source? What did your Jewish man actually say?Are all Jewish men the same, so it makes no difference? What the hell?
I am too confused about this conflict that I fear posting a source will lead to banishment, or condemnation. The sentiment at the end is what I CAN agree with. Very little else makes any rational sense to me. Take it for the words themselves, cause that's all I am posting.

Sometimes I wonder how things might be, had Israel given much of the Sinai Peninsula to the Palestinians and ordered them removed entirely from Israel, rather than ultimately dismantling Israeli settlements there and returning the Sinai Peninsula back to Egypt ... and then I realize no matter how things have or have not been handled, there would still be conflict in the region. But yeah, I still sometimes wonder. Palestine might actually be a country had they done so. Or maybe not. All conjecture.
