11/4/2023 pro-Palestinian protests around the world

“These people are enemies of the US as much as they are enemies of Israel,” journalist Emily Schrader wrote. “Stand with justice, stand with liberal democracy, stand with Israel.”

“These people hate America,” conservative podcaster Graham Allen asserted. “They are RIPPING DOWN OUR FLAG and replacing it with the Palestinian flag ON AMERICAN SOIL.”

“Who do these people think they are?!?!?” he added.

Last week, pro-Palestinian activists desecrated numerous monuments in Washington DC, including a Benjamin Franklin statue and an Andrew Jackson memorial. Podcaster Natalie Winters described walking through the National March to Free Palestine in DC, stating, “I truly don’t feel like I’m in America anymore. It’s not just blatant antisemitism it’s straight up anti-Americanism.”

I really laugh when seeing the women in their garb yelling Freedom. Any American Feminist who lauds their cause is a dope. It's over the top. Women not Muslim supporting this cause better wake up before they are wearing burkahs too. Everything is so obvious it hurts to see people waffling on what is right.

I think authentic feminists are having an extremely hard time navigating the current world in general.

Pepper, I hate to say it but most of those women look so miserable. Some modesty is one thing but no person is meant to dress like that all the time.

Modesty can be beautifully fashionable. We used to have a clothing store for/by Muslim women near my neighborhood and the name of the store was 'Modesty.' The dresses, scarves, etc. were gorgeous and quite flattering, IMO.

I was speaking of Islam as a whole. Would it be ok if the Catholics were still warring? There are different sects of Catholics but the entire religion would be held responsible for any Catholics that attacked and cut off heads. Surely there isn’t any doubt that Catholics would throw out the murderous sect.

You seem to disagree that the members of a religion are responsible for their own members, their own beliefs and their own practices.

How can the rest of the world change Islam when they don‘t or can‘t or won’t change their own.
After Israel pulled out of Gaza, they people voted for Hamas to govern them. Alas, it is all too easy for democratically elected people to turn into dictators and oppressors. People forget that Hitler was democratically elected when he came to power. Then he changed things and neutralized democratic elections. Turkey is slowly going in that sad direction. Russia has completed the change over to dictatorship. It happens.

"The price of liberty is eternal vigilance" - Thomas Jefferson.

People are trying to bring their feelings over the Israel-Hamas conflict into the local sporting arenas. Several teams have banned all signs, flag, etc, that mention this area and the conflict. Many fans are getting rather upset at this crude attempt to shove politics into a sporting event.

Naturally, I really appreciate the information you contribute. (y)

Great points! I wish people in the US would pay more attention to things happening because it can happen here too.

As to carrying their flags into sports games I hope they all get tossed out.

Honestly, does anybody believe that waving a protest sign or flag at a sporting event, or shouting something at people entereng a theater, or even telling the President to ^#*&@# off is going to change minds?

A local school board is going to consider taking a position on the Israel/Palestine issue. Do the parents of the students really think this will make a difference in either the conflict or their child's education? Does anybody think a local school board's position will move our politicians one way or another, much less the politicians in Israel and Palestine?

To all your questions - No.

an aside: Russia and Iran (and quite possibly China) work diligently to influence all types of media in "the west" while Israel's influence is pretty much limited to lobbying the US Congress. These days there's no doubt that influencing the media reaches vastly more people and has a far greater impact on their opinions and beliefs.

Remember the Mueller written about the former president and the 2016 election? Skip the part about the former President and read the part about Russian interference.

I seemed to have attributed a quote to the wrong originator. Jefferson probably quoted John Philpot Curran.

“It is the common fate of the indolent to see their rights become a prey to the active. The condition upon which God hath given liberty to man is eternal vigilance; which condition if he break, servitude is at once the consequence of his crime and the punishment of his guilt.”
― John Philpot Curran

In a shocking incident that has triggered widespread outrage online, a pro-Palestinian mob can be seen cheering on a protester who climbed a flagpole and tore down U.S. flags as demonstrators marched through central Manhattan over Veterans Day weekend.
Americans have been tearing down the flag and tearing up the Constitution for years by permitting or promoting an ideology that is counter to both to take over our colleges, government, and media outlets and build mosques in every city to train their next generation. Now we are seeing the fruits of their efforts parading down the streets.

The Long March of Radicalization

The Long March of Radicalization

Pulling back the curtain on Students for Justice in Palestine, a Muslim Brotherhood-backed group that has done much to indoctrinate college students. By now, most readers will have seen the parades of radical student groups, who, following the October 7 terror attack by Hamas massacring 1,400 Israelis, marched across American campuses chanting “We are Hamas” and “Globalize the Intifada.” But few have sought to delve deeper into what brings kids not long out of high school to scream genocidal slogans and intimidate Jewish students. While it’s easy to point fingers at the students, who is influencing them?

The widespread public outrage against the protests is undeniably warranted. But people aren’t born supporting Hamas. What we’re seeing is the result of a long process of indoctrination—and educators linked to the Muslim Brotherhood are at its onset.

I've seen some articles that might evidentiary support interference in elections, but I was focusing on media influence.

Hmmm… you’ve made me think about something I haven’t seen any news about. We all know what’s going on in colleges and universities but I don’t recall seeing anything about what elementary and high schools are teaching about this war.

Right now elementary schools seem pretty busy unraveling gender specs and definitions for their 5 to 12yr-old students. Maybe too busy to focus on much else.
