Well despite saying I would rest today...I've made 2 phone calls... Vac'd the Office room.. and ordered a new pair of Distance specs online. Even having them thinned as I always do.. they cost me inclusive of Vat (Tax).. £42.95

At Christmas time you all may remember I bought Distance sunglasses at the High street opticians ..they took 2 weeks, they got the prescription wrong.. and then they lost the specs.. for that I paid over £200...

Filed my tax return, renewed my driver's license, refilled a prescription... my head is whirling with phone problems and security codes and texted-back and emailed pins and account numbers from uncountable separate documents.

Now to schedule some medical tests and a follow-up appointment.

I remember how naĆÆve I was as a kid. I thought retirement had rocking chairs in it somewhere. :ROFLMAO:

~Sorted laundry

~Excepted an impromptu invitation from my middle grandson to go to lunch (wound up being "Linner") with him & his new GF. First time meeting her. She is smart, considerate, talented, wise beyond her years, great conversationalist, a cutie and positively delightful. They were both traumatized during childhood, but she's got a good handle on hers and is helping my GS manage his. I think she's the best thing that's happenend to himā£ My son met us there and we all enjoyed the conversation so much that we hated for it to end.

~I wound up taking a long nap shortly after I got home.

Can not sleep well, it is 4am here, temp 38F....that shooting mess down in kansas city stayed on my mind all nite dang it....
I had to chuckle when the politico's and journo's kept saying "this is not kansas city, this is not kansas city"....well YES IT IS...
just happened to be on parade day and televised!!!!

Been another pleasant warm day..another day with all windows and doors open to let the air blow through. It's 3.30pm now so it'll be dark at 5pm...but the evenings are getting longer every day

The Online specs place wanted a copy of my prescription ( despite filling in the relevant details on their page) and also my PD numbers.. the Opticians don't routinely supply the PD numbers so I had to call the last place I had my eyes tested to get it.. and sent them both. As I haven't had a reply, I'll presume that they've received them

Got a few things done in the garden. Cleared away some old plants... Tidied up a few things in the barn... .

I've got another bag ready to donate to charity, filled with Ornamental things.. mainly modern wall hangings of various descriptions..

Hopefully I'll get those dropped off tomorrow.

Just remembered I sat and deleted 1400 ''live'' photos on my Ipad... I was horrified to learn you can't delete ''live'' photos in Bulk on the Ipad.... ugh ! it took me an hour and a half deleting individually.. I hate ''live'' on the Iphone and Ipad...

I didn’t know that and I have a large amount of cleaning up to do.

Nor did I Jules. I thought that I'd be able to bulk delete as one would with Still Photos... ..I'm sorry I should have explained more clearly. Not ''delete live photos Per se''... but to remove the ''live''... from each photo, because it takes up a massive amount of space compared to Still photos.... in the end it was taking soo long I just deleted 1400...

(((Diva)))
It's not again, it's still. I'm getting very depressed over my situation. Thanks for the pretty flowers.
I'm so sorry! You're welcome, of course. If it's not again...maybe its time to see a doctor, although I fully understand not wanting to! I went through the same thing...often...when I was suffering with A-fib all those years. :(šŸ¤—

We've had a very good "vintage-style" kitchen spatula, lovely blade... bought second-hand. We'd looked around for a new one in kitchen stores (town & city) and 2nd-hand stores, but never found one with a nice, strong but thin-gauge working end. But its old-school plastic handle had been uncomfortable, due to the former owner letting it melt on the side of a skillet.

It was this type, but with a gnarly handle... spatula1.jpg

So I spent time removing the handle. Also, rescued a handle from a worn-out veggie peeler, cut it off, drilled a hole in it & glued the tang of the spatula blade in place, using epoxy. Comfy handle, and wife approves.

(I took the picture on my workbench, rather an unaesthetic background.)

Also did a bit of workshop cleaning & tidying.

Then spent rest of the morning doing some text editing for an art-gallery information sheet. My lunch is leftover butter chicken, veggies & rice. Tasty.
