Slept like a baby last night and didn't roll outta the hay until 5:30. Maggiecat tried to make me get up at 3, but I pretended she wasn't there. She didn't starve waiting a little longer for her breakfast.

I didn't wanna go out to dinner last night but so glad I did. We went to a Japanese steakhouse where the food was delicious and the entertainment of twirling knives and such was really fun. I've been to places like that before and didn't usually much like them. This one was way different, and our cook was outstanding. I asked him how long it took to learn to do all that...he said he already knew how to cook and learning the "art" of the knives only took him about three months. That was a surprise, I guess because I'm not very dexterous myself.

DGD decided she's gonna be like people who celebrate their whole birthday month 🎂. Sure. Why not?

It's supposed to be a sunny and warm day, and I have plenty to do in the garden. Along with planting the flowers I bought yesterday, there are weeds out there that need to go away. I wish the flowers would grow as healthy and strong as weeds do.

There's laundry to do, too, and I have to take up all the towels that I put down yesterday to keep from walking all over the clean, damp carpet. One of my indoor jobs this morning is to vacuum up whatever residue was left behind by the cleaner. That's gonna get done before it gets light outside.

Gonna save the rest of the tidying up until I'm off again on Thursday because it's supposed to rain then and I won't get to play in the dirt.

A good start so far. The laundry is laundering, litter box cleaned, breakfast eaten (nope, no sausage gravy and biscuits courtesy of @hawkdon, dammit!), and clean carpets vacuumed. Would you believe there was plenty of kitty fur? Whoa!

Next up...the garden awaits...

One more thing: I'm not all excited about the eclipse. I'll probably be napping then anyway.
Another thing: @jet is holiday-ing without me and @hollydolly. I bet he's sorry. I hope he is...

Morninng all....and Ggranny sorry bout that, finished the
gravy yest morn when you didn't come by LOL!!!! Well I slept
a little longer today, yay....Spectrum people and Electric people
had a time getting power/cable restored...I think a tree limb
hit a power line and caused the mess....I am amazed I didn't lose
any trees after that windstorm.,.,,I've asked landlord several time
to take down trees and trim couple others and he does not
do it...Got some laundry for today and will start checking on
Bath towels....so behave yourselves !!!!;):coffee::geek:

Sunny warm day... not going anywhere today because I've got blood tests to be taken tomorrow, so I'm going out then, and I'll do what needs doing outside then as long as it's not raining.

This morning I've put all the laundry away from the dryer..I have waaaayyy too much stuff still. I'm going to have to have to have a serious cull.. it's ridiculous. fortunately everything is hung, but I'm running out of space for it.. so another big donation to the charity will be on the cards soon...

Postie knocked this morning with 2 large parcels... one is a Babyliss Heated revolving hairdryer brush.. regardless of how I try I just can't master the art of holding a round brush in one hand and using a hairdryer in the other.. so hopefully this self rotating heated brush will do the trick..

Babyliss is the brand of hairdryer I use. I like mine. They are heavy though.

I have a dinner tonight that I forgot about, so I'm going to try not to stress about getting there. I made plans this afternoon with a friend and will be a little rushed to get to dinner, but I'll manage. And I don't have to cook dinner, so there's that. Now I need to find something to wear.

Yes I've had several Babyliss items over the years, but this is the first time I've seen a self revolving heated brush...

I've got a heated brush already but it's not self revolving, and the Barrel is HUGE...

New bathroom faucet is installed.

It looks a bit larger than its mate,, didn't think there would be any changes from a year ago.

Day is getting overcast already,,,must be due to the eclipse?

We don't have any special glasses as we aren't planning on watching it.

Old folks have to watch the ground,,never know when a stone will pop out & trip us.
Its a wonder one of us hasn't fallen in slippery / muddy lawn.

Hope everyone has a great day to tell us about later.

....not a lot planned for today. We will get The Girls set up to be in the barn during the eclipse, but other than that, I don't feel up to doing much. The pollen around here is horrendous!!!! It's really getting to me.

Have a good day, everyone!

Flowers planted and a few that had already been planted moved to better spots. It's a start, but there's still a lot to do, including those pesky weeds. I'm hoping to have it all done (as if a garden is ever done!) and blooming for me to enjoy while I'm off work when the cataract surgery is done.

One load of laundry drying, the other in the washer.

What'll I do now?

Went to the cardiologist for a follow-up to the CT scan I had recently.

No CHF, no indication of heart failure of any kind. No AFib, that was only a suspicion and never a confirmed diagnosis. Blood pressure is where he wants to see it, and has been for 6 months.

Somewhat enlarged abdominal aorta but not concerning and with controlled blood pressure should recover somewhat anyway. Lymphedema well controlled and symptomatically non-existent but to be monitored.

No activity restrictions. New echocardiogram and recheck in a year to be certain.

Said I didn't belong there. :ROFLMAO: I was in and out in just over 15 minutes.

No, I'm not complaining.

I cleaned the bathroom. I also made stuff today. Not a lot of food, nothing fancy but quick, easy things that were delicious. My son, an avocado fanatic, never had my avocado stuffed with egg salad dish. I made that for our lunch today and he said it was "amazing!". He told one of his buddies about it, so now his buddy is going to try it too. For dinner I made broccoli pizza using naan bread as the "crust" and instead of mozzarella, like I usually use, I finished the last of the block Muenster cheese I had in the freezer.

Then I made a quick dessert....chocolate "mousse" pie. I used Hunts sugar free chocolate pudding, whipped cream and a drizzle of agave. I blended the ingredients in my Magic Bullet for a couple of minutes, then topped with more whipped cream. I used a Keebler ready made graham cracker crust. I know next time to use at least one more container of pudding. My son hipped me to the fact that whipped cream does not have that much sugar in it, neither does the crust, so this is a much better option for my blood sugar than the mini pies I've been buying.

I also had a very interesting (as always) conversation with my honorary son this afternoon. Since we only get to talk every couple of months, we always have so much catching up to do and we were on the phone for almost two hours. I had him on speaker and enjoyed the witty banter between him and my son. They have been BFFs for about 40 years. Took a nap after dinner. Have a restful night everyone.
Diva, did you use plant or dairy milk to make the pudding? I know you mentioned buying almond milk a few years ago. Brilliant idea to put it in the blender instead of using a stand mixer or whisk.

All looks great! I will be making egg salad in avocado!

Spent part of my morning on the phone with Spectrum and NYSEG, shutting down my son's accounts at his old apartment. Then set up his new electric account in the new apartment. I usually have a time with them because they want to speak to him. He has a difficult time on those calls but I got it done. Just had my first meal of the day and now doing some computer stuff on my blog for a bit.

I put a post on the neighbourhood app.. the other day .. and the statistic after 48 hours have just been shown to me.. can't believe in the first 24 hours it got 4,300 views........ this is because our neighbourhood app doesn't just cover the local area but instead the next 3 towns 3 directions, and North London...

Had a lovely weekend - finished my business spreadsheets by late Saturday afternoon. This morning I'll compose a cover letter and submit them to my customer. Due to some turnover in their staff, I'm now in the peculiar position of recommending to this, our largest customer by far, what they should purchase from us. We've been their sole provider for 20 years, so there's a lot of trust on both sides.

Weather is nice today - mid 70s for a high and tomorrow - Thurs we'll have the 80s. Then temps will drop and another rainy weekend is coming.
