On my early walk around 6:40 walked to buy today's NYT at local co op temp was refreshing 65
I just got phone call from my real estate agent, Patrick, he told me Bob, the other resident who was interested in my apt has decided not to take it,I'm not surprised .Patrick told me, whenever there is a bigger apt available in the building, Bob looks at them but doesn't commit to buying. My hope is the apt sells sometime this summer I still have to pay the monthly HOA until it is - bummer
 
Feeling better today. Got out in the morning coolness to walk, it's going to be another mid-80s and up day with humidity again. I need to get the string trimmer buzzing and then I might start out front to mow the next "crop" of grass. It sure is growing fast right now!

I might have to get some more shady blend seed. I put some out to recover a deeply shaded area moss was invading and it did quite well. I need to get going before we fall into the Dog Days which would require straw mulching and a lot of watering. I can get started scratching out moss with a stiff rake until I buy that seed.

I wondered how you got so good with your photography...did you take any classes? You have very nice photographs. I have some nice camera equipment here that Mr Birdy used. I gave some of it away but think I have a few pieces around that I kept. I am thinking of taking a class of some sort.
 
Hi, kids. GG is home now. I showed my temper, but just a little, and bit my tongue a lot. I didn't quit in a Huff. The reason I didn't quit in a four-cylinder Huff is because I really, really like payday, but I'll admit that it's very tempting. Have any of you noticed that the four-cylinder Huff is now available in an electric model?;)

Whoa. It's 78 at 10am with a feels-like temp of 82. Another steamy day in the South.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm mainly self taught (Since age 10 or thereabouts) but have had a few mentors over the years. No classes.
 
Phew... I feel like I've been spun in the wringer.. what a morning and afternoon.... . It's almost 4pm now... and my head is full with legal jargon... I feel I could just call the whole thing off, but I won't... however it's mind bending, and exhausting.. and scary too.. for the future...

My lawyer drafted a really strong email to his lawyers, laying out some home truths about missing finances, and demanding answers from their client my soon2bex... and declaring that if we don't get satisfactory answers as to where money has gone.. then we're going to pull the big guns out.. and take him to court...

I got an almost instant reply from his solicitor ( normally very tardy)... saying she was on holiday for the next 2 weeks and would address it with him after the 14th.. I sent one back saying.. nope.. it needs addressing now, and if you can't do it then find someone who can


...I'm sick of this lawyer of his giving every excuse for not replying to emails... with regard to this case....last time she took 2 months!!...so no more.. Sort it now, or else...

No he absolutely won't. he's relying on the fact that he believes I can't afford to go to court, he's in for a shock..a BIG shock.. and he's gonna be mad as hell....... but there comes a time when you just get sick of being abused, verbally, emotionally, and financially.., .. and time for me to just let him feel some payback, even if it's going to cost a pretty penny.....and my lawyer says she'll support me every step of the way..

I always write shopping lists, but usually end up buying just as much that isn't on the list. Problem is that I can spot a reduced sticker at 50 paces and can't resist a bargain. I've made some good cheap meals as a result.
 
The poor collared dove didn't stand a chance against the Sparrowhawk...in my garden...today

He/she put up a terrific fight, I know it's nature, but it doesn't make it less upsetting to see a gentle bird like the doves be attacked mercilessly.... they literally eat the doves and pigeons alive...:cry:

That is so sad to see, even though it is nature at play.

One day, a hawk flew onto our balcony .. after the pigeons. Fortunately, I was home, and was able to scare off the pigeons before the hawk grabbed one of them.

Very wise @hollydolly - you get one crack at this so, you have to give it your best shot no matter how difficult it is.

I know what you mean Pinks, I've done this myself in the past if I've been in the garden when the hawk flies down, and chased them off.. sometimes even in seconds tho' the Pigeons are so hurt, they need to be killed to put them out of pain.. and the estranged o/h used to have to do this sometimes.. so heartbreaking..

Yes, the longer issues are dragged out the more weary people become and the more the details are lost in the mix. Hopefully the tide will turn and the stbx will be the first to tire.

Actually if, as seems to be the case, the ex is hiding assets, he has more to lose by continuing than @hollydolly has because, hiding assets is fraud and, if proven, a court could order him to pay all costs of both parties.
 
My mom woke me at some point in the night banging on my bedroom door and boy it scared the bejeebers out of me. Everything was fine except my heart was pounding. I sent her back to bed after taking care of the problem. I was able to get back to sleep for a little while.

I'm going to buy new googles and a bathing cap. 🏊‍♀️
