Still watching episodes of "A Gentleman in Moscow". It's pretty good!
Another one i just remembered is Ballykissangel . It's set in Ireland and has the same quirky feel to it. It's available on Pluto. Again another "older" show.Loved that show. I got it from my library in DVD format. Since I watched it piecemeal, it might be nice to binge it.
I looked that up when you first brought it up and it has my interest. There isn't much else on Showtime that interests me so I'll wait for a deal to pop up. There usually is a good deal for Showtime popping up from time to time.Still watching episodes of "A Gentleman in Moscow". It's pretty good!
Dark show but I did like it ! She is one tough constable.I'm doing a month of AMC+ right now and I won't be continuing because after two weeks I've seen everything I'm the least bit interested in.
However, I thought it was worth it just to get "Happy Valley," a British police crime drama. I binged all 18 episodes in about four days I was so into it.
Another one that was at my library on DVD years ago. But they didn't have many. I'm not a big of Pluto, although Walmart plus has a deal with Pluto for a handful of commercial free content.Another one i just remembered is Ballykissangel . The characters are much realistic. They have flaws. It seems like a few here enjoy watching British shows
You aren't missing much.I don't have a Netflix account but I receive about 10 emails a day telling me it has been suspended.
You aren't missing much.
It seems like nothing but foreign films and series, dubbed (and subbed with different dialog), with a Netflix label slapped on.
But hey, they do have clunky movies about Godzilla and such that are clearly just slightly reworked scripts from 1950s Japanese kiddie flicks.
I've never seen any Dr Who but many have raved about it. I wonder if it is on Netflix or Prime or what? I'm going to put it on my watch list.Currently 4 episodes into the new Dr Who series. Lots of mixed emotions and dismay at first but it's getting better. MUCH better!
Ep1 - Space Babies - 4/10 - silly - felt like a 'Sarah Jane Adventures' story (May have got 6/10 if it had been)
Ep2 - The Devil's Chord - 1/10 absolutely terrible.
Ep3 - BOOM! - 8/10 - now THAT is Dr Who!
Ep4 - 73 Yards - 9/10 - YES!
Watch out for emails like that. I've been getting emails from all kinds of services that I have never had. They are very likely scammers. I sometimes look at the return addresses and they have nothing to do with the company in the email.I don't have a Netflix account but I receive about 10 emails a day telling me it has been suspended.
I've heard great things about that show. I'll probably sub to Hulu for a moth to watch that and anything else I might have missed in the past six moths on Hulu.I began watching "Shogun" on Hulu. It's so beautiful I almost cried. I must have read the book a dozen times. My husband discovered the book, I read the same copy, so did our son. I found the covers, back & front, in a bookcase but no book!
Warning: mostly subtitles from Japanese.
I've always been interested in Japan since early childhood. As a kid, I wrote to their government asking for information and I was thrilled to receive an information pack back from them.
The Japanese are such fascinating people. Island people are so different from mainlanders.
We watched three episodes of Fall Out and then quit. Didn't like it at all.Bonkers Bonkers Bonkers !
Worth a watch.
After watching 5 seasons out of 7 I've decided Archie's decisions are a result of his inbreeding. Like the show, but frustrating to watch. Thanks @MarkinPhx. Favorite character - Golly! (he's the only one that keeps me grounded)It seems like a few here enjoy watching British shows with the eclectic setting and quirky characters. For those who do, I suggest trying out Monarch on the Glen. It is an older show. I watched it back when I used to get my shows on DVD's from Netflix. It's a fun and warm show about the ups and downs of a family owning a large family estate and having financial problems trying to keep it. I just checked and it is currently streaming for free (with commercials) on the Roku Channel and Freeve .
