What is your sexual preference?

Considering that females are the only people who can get pregnant, I don’t see the big controversy.
There is a controversy, a dumb one, IMO. Pregnant People is the new moniker, because of the one or two trans men who didn't remove their female organs and became pregnant "men." So, for those very few people it is now "Pregnant People" and yes, Woke has gone too far.

This is exactly the story I thought about. ‘Man becomes pregnant.’ No man can become pregnant. A woman decided to get her genetialia altered and got pregnant. This man also purposely got as much publicity as possible about it. In the end, it’s still a woman getting pregnant . She can change the outside as much as she wants but she’s still a female getting pregnant.

To ask such a question a biological male is not only stupid but ridiculous too. He refused for valid reasons.
It does seem that way. If he has externally transitioned, it may not be obvious and he may be obstinate about stating that he’s anything else but male.

I am reminded of the old adage 'do you want to be right or do you want to be happy'
Variations of it fit many circumstances - in this case, do you want to be right or do you want to donate blood.

Although it is equally silly to ask women over 60 if they could be pregnant ( how come nobody has whinged about that being woke?) I'm sure we all just tick the box anyway because we want to donate blood more than we want to prove we are right in some pointless one up manship

I don't think he is making a big deal, simply not conforming to the introduction of woke ideology into our NHS. Up to a few years ago such a question did not require to be answered by male donors and in fact I don't recall even seeing it on the form when I donated.
The form should say "if you are a female, or identify (partly or fully) as one, are you pregnant? That handily frees all males who are not in any way female, from having to answer the question.

But then women over 60 shouldn't have to answer it either. That would handily free all females clearly past child bearing age from having to answer it too

Or maybe just have a standard list of questions that everyone answers and dont make a fuss about nothing.
Having t o answer a question by ticking a box or signing a disclaimer is really no big deal

Or you could turn that around and ask the Donor Service....Do you want to enforce woke ideology or do you want people to donate. Why is the onus being put on the actual donor who, remember, has donated before this craziness came into force and it is said donors the Donor Service depends on and should accommodate them.

Woke began, I believe in our black American community, as meaning awake to injustice. That's all. That's all it meant, in the beginning. Noble, really, IMO. "Don't call me the N word" "Okay, that makes sense." Where it went may go to silly lengths, but even sillier, IMO, is the outrage against it.

The onus put on the donor??? What onus??

He has to tick a box or sign a disclaimer answering a simple question. That's all. No great onus.

The same one women over 60 answer too, although answer equally obvious. Nothing new there

Seems to me he is being a big drama llama over nothing.

Just a few minutes thought and the issue is easily resolved.

What about an if/then question that asks if one is female, and if the response is NO, they can skip the next question about pregnancy.

The 'onus' of having to adapt to an illogical question which has no pertinence to any biological males simply in order to satisfy the NHS craving for inclusivity. Why include both 'male' and 'female' in a question when it can only apply to one.

your point about women over 60 is totally different simply because it refers to 'women'.

Seems to me that it is the NHS being stubborn and awkward (by refusing him donating) in a pitiful attempt to have people accept an ideology they do not believe in.

If it is that simple why will they not accept that a male cannot become pregnant.

What is different about it?? - it is equally illogical to think a woman over 60 would be pregnant.

anyway if he thinks grandstanding about this is worth it so be it

seems to me he is being a great drama llama over nothing
Yep, I agree it's illogical to think that However it is different because only women can become pregnant, a male cannot and the question demands that males answer it.

He isn't grandstanding, he is being realistic. So basically, you think a male should answer a question that he isn't pregnant to pander to a warped ideology.

It demands women over 60 answer it too and they cannot get pregnant either, only younger women can.

Yes I think he should just answer it, simple to tick a box and no need to do a big grandstanding drama over it.

we'll have to disagree then. I believe he is totally correct by not answering a question that relates to females only and that it is the NHS who have caused the situation by trying push an ideology to suit themselves and not the people they rely upon.

But females over 60 aren't totally correct in not answering a question that only relates to younger women??

The NHS are just giving a list of questions for everyone to answer - the 'pushing an idelology' is just your perception

I doubt the NHS have caused any situation - other than one grandstanding drama llama I doubt anyone else is very bothered.
